Dragonmount, along with a few other fans sites, received this press release from Red Eagle Entertainment and the Dabel Brothers, the producers of the NEW SPRING graphic novel:       The most interesting part of this news is this little tidbit right here: "[Red Eagle] holds the worldwide film and television distribution rights to Robert Jordan’s The Eye of the World" ... "intends to expand ... with a tightly-linked combination of quality entertainment programming coupled with a wide as

Audio Renaissance plans to release the Knife of Dreams audio book in October 2005. Hardly a surprise, but now it's semi-official. Books in Print lists two ISBNs with that date, 1-59397-765-4 as Knife of Dreams audio cassette priced at $69.95 and 1-59397-766-2 as Knife of Dreams audio cassette priced at $41.95. Our best guess is that the pricier one is actually the CD. As of this morning neither Amazon.com nor Barnes&Noble has them listed yet.   Update 3/31/05: The Knife of Dreams audioboo

Bowker's Books in Print now lists a Tor trade paperback edition of New Spring: The Novel due out in January 2005. ISBN: 0-7653-1467-3. List price $9.95. However, no other databases including Amazon and Barnes&Noble list this new edition so we're not sure if it's for real or not. We'll keep you posted as we learn more.   Update: Michael has it right. The book itself is exactly the same and the dustjacket is the same except for the addition of judiciously placed stickers. If you were waitin

The December 2004 issue of Locus Magazine lists forthcoming books through September 2005. The Tor mass market paperback of New Spring: The Novel is listed for June 2005. The Orbit edition went on sale December 2 and is readily available. Tor typically releases Jordan mass market paperbacks a couple of months before the next hardback, so this continues to bode well for a Fall 2005 appearance for Knife of Dreams.   More Info: [   [  http://www.locusmag.com]Locus' Magazine Online  ]

There are some tidbits on Robert Jordan in Orbit-Ezine # 75. The first is confirmation that Book 12 will conclude the main sequence. "One question we get asked on a weekly basis is 'How long is The Wheel of Time series going to be?' Well, it appears that we might be able to shed some light on that particular issue at last. Latest information from the man himself, Mr Robert Jordan, suggests that book 12 will be the final book of The Wheel of Time." They also state that there is a ne

Halloween is approaching, and so I thought it would be appropriate to share with you some pictures that Robert Jordan sent us of his Halloween costume from last year.   He dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow, (the pirate played by Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean. RJ's lovely wife Harriet is in the other pictures shown here.   Take a look at the full pictures by clicking on each of the thumbnails: /Images/RJ_pirate1_sm.gif[/img]     Regarding the holiday last year, RJ s

Today is Robert Jordan's 56th birthday and he'll be celebrating it by... taking a day off from writing. Sounds like RJ is going to party in a way that only people from South Carolina know how!   In a few weeks he's off to Turkey for a large bookfair in Istanbul. He'll be doing some public appearances and private vacationing.   Happ birthday, RJ! Have fun.   More info on: [ Robert Jordan ]

It was six years ago today that Dragonmount.com opened up to the public. Although it wasn't exactly pretty back then, the website grew very quickly. We've made it this far, and have done pretty well for the most part. Recently we were described as "the site that launched a thousand ships."   One of our birthday traditions is to open up the DM Birthday board, where you can go share your memories of DM. Even if you're new to the site, swing by and tell us how you're experience has been. In ad

Audio Renaissance, a producer of audio books, has released unabridged versions of The Eye of the World and The Great Hunt. Previously it was hard (if not impossible) to come by unabridged copies of these audio books.   According to Audio Renaissance, they plan to roll out the rest of the series in the coming months:   Both are read by Kate Reading (who reads the female POV's) and Michael Kramer (who does the males). Both CD sets include a bonus interview with Robert Jordan.   Bo

After a long and exciting weekend in San Diego, CA, we have some exciting things to report. Robert Jordan was present at the convention, and we had a chance to spend a lot of time with him. Jason (DM Admin) will post an in-depth summary of the weekend on the message boards soon. But a few things can be confirmed from this weekend for sure: There will definitely only be two more books in the series. So twelve books total, not including the prequels. A
