Welcome to the Band! We love seeing new faces and always hope you delve into the various activities we currently have running! We are currently in the midst of changing leadership so as of now, I am the interim social group leader until a new social group leader is appointed! If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask! Otherwise....enjoy some brew--don't you dare spill any!!!--and try to avoid the flying objects that are the result of various brawls....hey, just because we work together doesn't mean we're always nice to each other We've gotta have fun somehow! Also, I will do my best to get you added to the usergroup as soon as possible!

The Chart Game This is a simple game open to Banders and DMers alike. Each week, I will post a thread with a new release in the UK singles charts along with a link to a music video so you can listen to the song. All you need to determine is where the song will chart on Sunday when the UK Official Chart is announced on Sunday. You need to pick between 1 to 40, or "does not chart". No chart place can be picked twice. And there will be prizes for the winner. The Prizes Winner (exact spot) - 4 Promotion Points Winner (not exact spot) - 2 Promotion Points Should there be a tie, for example, the song charts at number 7, but two Banders have picked 5 and 9 (i.e. both …

So, I am relatively lazy, and while LMA has all the dead shows (SBD source) available for streaming, they seem to have removed their audience recordings, or at least made them very hard to find. I am in a summery mood, and am looking for summer show (may and september count) from either the late 70s (76-78) or the late 80s (87-90). I would prefer one with a good, "homey/country" first set and an energic/spacey second (wouldn't everyone)? My contribution, which I'm sure is pretty well known, is this amazing little google doc that I neither own, nor participate in, but pull from quiet frequently: https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AjeIQ6qQvexzc…

Well, the title says it all! So, over the weekend, I proposed to my long-term girlfriend (FYI, she goes by the name of North Star on the boards) and she said "yes"! Pretty damn excited!

With just about 10 minutes to go, it is time to get ready for the Grand Final of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest, which this year is coming from Baku, Azerbaijan. So it is time to settle in and see which one of 26 countries is going to be victorious. Will it be one of the Big 5 (Italy, France, Germany, UK, Spain), Jedward (*shudder*) or somewhere from Eastern Europe or Scandinavia? After what I felt were two mediocre (even poor) semi-finals on Tuesday and Thursday, 20 qualifiers join the Big 5 and Azerbaijan (last year's winners). I didn't feel there was much to shout about from the two shows, so we shall see if things step up for the final. I don't know who is going…

So, after the first semi-final on Tuesday which I felt could have been better, it is time to get ready for the second semi-final from Baku, Azerbaijan. The Eurovision Song Contest is now into its 57th year, and is strong as ever. Yet again, I will be your host for this evening's entertainment, passing my glorious comments on tonight's proceedings! Hopefully tonight's show will be better than what happened on Tuesday. So, just a quick reminder on how tonight will work. 6 countries - Azerbaijan, last year's winner, along with the Big 5, the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy - are all guarenteed a place in the final on Saturday, along with the 10 that qualified from T…

And we are not far awy from the start of the big event - Eurovision 2012 will officially be underway from Baku, Azerbaijan. This is the 57th Eurovision Song Contest, and it is still going strong! And like the last few years, I will be your host for this evening's entertainment, passing my glorious comments on tonight's proceedings. I haven't had a big look into the songs tonight, so I have no idea what will be in our mixed bag of goodies tonight! Except Ireland are inflicting Jedward on Europe...again... And just a quick rundown on how tonight is to work. 6 countries - Azerbaijan, last year's winner, along with the Big 5, the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy - are…

To ensure that all social groups are represented accurately, we will be needing your input. To make helping us more tempting, there are awards for the most helpful factions along with awards for the most helpful SG's. All you need to do is submit card ideas. Your faction has the following types of cards: Action Cards: Cards that make a person have to do something until their next turn or for a limited amount of time. No violence. No stripping. No inappropriate touching. PG13 rule applies. ex: Action Card: You have been wounded in bat…

This tread is just as the title describes, you post the album/song and artist of that album/song and then you tell us why you think that is. For me it would have to be the album Cult by Apocalyptica if only for the reason that the music is heavy

...with something that will keep me here a bit more often! Anyway, there has been a reason why I have been a little absent...which some of you might see in a few weeks time. That is all I am going to say about that. The other reason was that we were a man down at work. Being a small accountancy firm, losing a member of staff does not help, so I have had to take on extra responsibilities at work. Anyway, we have a new member of staff starting next week or the week after. Just so you are away, I am away at the latter end of the week as I am going home to my parents for my Easter break. They weren't around this weekend, so I am going back next week. After that, I…

Hello. This message is sponsored by... no one, since everyone is broke nowadays. It it time for the EMPYS! (actually, a bit past time >.>). We'd like to invite you to participate in this yearly site wide event and tell us who you think is the BEST in the year of 2011. As in every year, there are various categories that you can nominate for. Please help us give back to the site and honor it and its members. The Empys Board is now open. It is a child board under the General Discussion board. You can find the link here. The two stickied threads contain all the information you need to nominate (and more! since Tyn and I like to babble). If you ha…

Blame the fact that DM hasn't loaded for me in about a week, especially in an evening when I am at home. Must be something to do with the last book. Or the Dark One's hold is getting stronger... I am also going away on Friday for a long weekend with my girlfriend. I will see what I can do tonight with activities, if the site loads for me...
