After last week's clash of the titans, the big names of music continue to clash in the Battle of the Bands as we reach the last two quarter-finals. In the first tie of this week, we see the mighty Ray Charles take on The Beatles for a place in the semi-finals, where they will meet Aretha Franklin. And here is the final tie of the quarter-finals. It pits the winners of Reggae, Bob Marley, against Bob Dylan, the champion of Folk. For those of you who don't check the offsite boards.....The wife and I have discovered we are going to be parents again. This will be number three for us. It was discovered by accident earlier than normal, so we have anywhere from 8-8.5 months to go. ;)

Welcome to the best Org on DM, Imperium. I'm Kara, the current Captain General of the Infantry and the Quest Mistress to boot(no, that does NOT me you get to boot me! ::)). I'm not a particularly big fan of the Soul genre, but I just came across a news article which saddened me. Isaac Hayes has died of a stroke. Link Although what I know about Soul can be written on a postage stamp, with room to spare, I did know that Hayes was a leading Soul musician and it is my opinion that the genre will be lost without him. Thoughts?

In light of the artist of the month that I still have to post and will be getting to here very soon, I have decided to put up Nightswimming, by REM, for the Tune or No Tune. Nightswimming is a song on REM's 1992 album Automatic for the People. It is a ballad featuring singer Michael Stipe accompanied only by bassist Mike Mills on piano. A string arrangement by former Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones also accompanies them. The inspiration of the song is debated by the band.
