Hiya Hornsounder Readers, you can find your newspaper here as a temporary sollution untill the DM make-over has been finalised and the newspaper can be adapted to the new final look of DM. As it is now based on the old boards, it doesn't quite fit as good right now. That location is for reading purposes only and you don't need to register there. Any reactions, questions or comments can be posted here instead. I hope you enjoy your newspaper at least as much as the previous months and we can look forward to a promising number of competition players. Mystica

Today we gather together to stand witness to the FIRST ever ceremony of presenting the prizes to the winners of the Hornsounder Competitions. This paper is published on this board every last day of each month. The Competitions you find in the Entertainment Section of that paper and are open to everyone (Banders or non-Banders). More information on this and how you can compete in the coming months to stand here and cl…

Mystica Joined: 24 Jun 2006 Posted: Wed Jun 27, 2007 7:30 pm Welcome Banders and Friends! The time has come to announce the Winners of the Horsnounder Competitions from last month's Edition! I was thrilled to see such a promising increase of participants in all the games this month! 9 Participants have been reported to play one or several of the offered games and try their hand at snatching up those prizes! Needless to say, I hope this trend continues and more and more of you will decide to claim some points and/or one (or several) of those marvelous Competition Pins. :D As those of you who follow these games regularly know, our DJ had be…

I was a bit saddened that literally no one had mustered up the courage to try their luck at the Sudoku Competition. But hopes are high that some of you will rise up and claim victory on this month's competition. Untill that time, however, DirewolfJon is hereby proclaimed as: Unbeaten Sudoku Master ! Congratulations, DJ! Now on to our winners :) We start this month with the JotS Competition . 2 brave Banders have entered, 1 has…

The forest trees are full with fresh green leaves that sway in the steady, cooling breeze. A well-used path leads away from the camp and deep into the woods. Lining the path are banners alternating the Band’s Red Hand, and the Infantry’s crossed swords. The path winds deep into the forest and the trees grow larger, older, and more spaced apart. The ground i…

Goldy is digging in his back yard late into the night, searching for buried treasure of course, when suddenly he strikes something hard. He is frantic as he digs all around the large object, can it be true? Have all his endless nights of digging in his back yard when he could have been posting on DM paid off? No...it's a rock...a big one too, and it takes about an hour to get out og the 20 foot deep hole. That done, Goldy descends back into the hole in the easiest of ways, he jumps. When he hits the ground he knows he's supposed to roll, and he tries to, but it doesn't work so well in a 5 foot wide hole..he hits the side with a lot of force... His neck is very sore a…

Until we get mod powers for these boards and can sticky and sort out the threads, can you all please refrain from posting on Campfires? Thanks. Apart from 10 missing weeks of draws on the Lottery board, its up to date, the missing stickies have been replaced and the two latest threads transferred over. Can all winners from Sunday and anyone picking numbers for next week, please repost? Sorry for the inconvenience people.

Well, for some of us, these may be embarrasing questions, but they always bring interesting answers. So... 1. What was the first album you ever bought? 2. What was the first single you ever bought? Well, firstly, I have never bought a single. They just don't appeal to me for some reason. As for my first album, I believe it was By The Way by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Before then, I wasn't really into music (strange thing to say since I lead an ORG about music! lol!), but over the last 5 or so years, my interest has really kicked off, mainly thanks to my friends at school.

I don’t know about anybody else, but there are certain songs, even groups that when I hear them, it makes me think of or remember somebody or something. Keeping with that, I’m starting this thread to be much like the proboards site “What are you listening to”. For this one, just post any music you want and give a little tell on what that music makes you think of, how it makes feel, or any memories it inspires! To start it off I heard Kind & Generous by Natalie Merchant on my way into work and instantly thought of my wife. It was played at our wedding reception, and one of the songs we danced to. I like it because, you can never thank the woman you love enough …

The name is quite self explanatory. Each person posts a line from a song, and we keep doing so. However, to stop people posting one after another, you'll have to wait at least 3 posts after your last one. The number may be changed at a later date. It is down to you if you want to post the name of the song and the band from where your line came from. If people want to know where a line came from, please post your enquiries in italics or in colour. All answers must be replied in italics or in colour. Post your line in BOLD TEXT. If you post the song and artist, do so in normal text. e.g. If you could blow up the world with the flick of a switch The Yeah Y…

Growing up in southern New Jersey, Bruce Springsteen turned to rock & roll as a teenager and played in a series of bands from the mid-'60s on, varying in style from garage rock to power trio blues-rock. By the early '70s, he was trying his hand at being a folky singer/songwriter in Greenwich Village. But when he was signed to Columbia Records in 1972, he brought into the studio many of the New Jersey-based musicians with whom he'd played over the years. The result was Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. (January 1973), which went unnoticed upon initial release, though Manfred Mann's Earth Band would turn its leadoff track, "Blinded by the Light," into a number one…

Thought I'd deserted, didn't you? Didn't you?! Well, no such luck my loves! After much sadistic assigning of the dreaded MLA-style research papers (dun-dun-dunnnn), my professors have decided to leave me alone with a tiny piece of my sanity still in tact. For the moment. *giggles hysterically* I've missed you all terribly, and will head over to the BotRH boards shortly! *huggles and smooches* ~*BeccaAnn*~

I'm gonna get this music discussion show under the way! And I am going to start with a group I love - the Chemical Brothers. And there is some great news! A new album shall be out sometime in the early summer! It's going to have a tough job of beating Push the Button, which I felt was their greatest album ever! Here is one link to the news, and more can be found on their official website. And European Tour dates have been announced! Look here for more information! Scroll down the news and you can find the dates! It looks like there shall be a good start to the summer!

The night is cloudy and dark. Lightening flickers in the distance, illuminating the clouds, to show the outline of the threatening storm. A steady breeze carries with it the strong smell of salt from the ocean to the South. A torch lined path leads towards the ocean through the woods, and the canopy of new spring leaves light up brighter with each bluish white flicker of the lightening. Distantly thunder rumbles menacingly. The path winds through the dark woods, steadily climbing in a slight upwards slant away from the Band’s encampment, before finally opening up onto a peninsula jutting out high over the ocean. The entire peninsula is ringed with torches that blow f…
