For a while, I maintained that the Tony Romas in Seoul had the best burgers I had ever tried. Then I tried a local phenomenon... Ranee's, a bar and grill in Oregon City, OR (small grill locally owned by a couple) makes the BEST burger I have ever tried. Ground pork patty, with bacon almost dripping in... I think it was maple syrup, but might have involved honey too, can't remember. There was a party in my mouth, and I can't wait to find a babysitter so we can go back (minors not allowed because of the building code and where alcohol is served). What is the best burger you have ever tried?

Some of you here may not know that I've been in the Band for years, and have been staff for a good part of those years. I've enjoyed my time as Marshall-General of the Band, but due to various reasons, I believe it is time for me to step down and let another take the reigns and lead this wonderful organization. So I've been on LOA for about a month now. Five weeks ago I was selected for the jury on an aggravated murder case. While not sequestered, the pittance paid to the jury was not enough to still feed my family, so I have been cramming my full-time employment into evenings and weekends, hence the LOA. The trial is still underway, though winding down, but because of some other circumstances, I am back from my LOA, on LOLA until the trial ends in the next 1-2 weeks. (Which is great timing... it was originally expected to be 2 weeks longer than current expected.) I can't talk at all about the trial beyond what I just mentioned... though in a couple weeks I'll be able to divulge…
