OK, I thought it might be fun to have a whole thread dedicated to book marks. They are small (usually) and most of the time they are made out of things you happen to have handy or can pick up REALLY CHEAP! I'm going to post the ones I find (and I'll be looking all month, so keep checking in) and you can post the ones you find, too! When you make one (because hopefully you will!), share it with us! Sometimes just posting a "wow, I made that and it was so easy!" is all the inspiration folks need to try it themselves!

Sorry I've been a bit absent this week, everyone. I've had rotten migraines all week and am just dead when I get home. I have a rare few minutes to jump on my laptop, so I thought I'd post this up! :) I don't know if it's that big a deal where you are, but here in Savannah, we close EVERYTHING and party on St. Patrick's Day. This year's parade is going to be the biggest EVER and they're already estimating it to be bigger than everyone else's... I'm not kidding or bragging. I'm staying WAY away from downtown this weekend. A million drunk people stumbling on cobble stone streets isn't my idea of a great time! So, for those of us staying around the house OR wh…

Hello. This message is sponsored by... no one, since everyone is broke nowadays. It it time for the EMPYS! (actually, a bit past time >.>). We'd like to invite you to participate in this yearly site wide event and tell us who you think is the BEST in the year of 2011. As in every year, there are various categories that you can nominate for. Please help us give back to the site and honor it and its members. The Empys Board is now open. It is a child board under the General Discussion board. You can find the link here. The two stickied threads contain all the information you need to nominate (and more! since Tyn and I like to babble). If you ha…

I got an email from Michael's offering me coupons for National Hobby Month. It made me wonder... What are your hobbies? Are you crafty? Bookish? Do you collect elephants? Inquiring minds want to know!

Yeah, I didn't know what to call them. LOL The project I'm linking you to is for a Spring Wreath, but I was thinking... I've seen something like these at Hobby Lobby in more neutral colors as decorative balls. You know, the ones you just pile a bunch of different ones in a large bowl and it looks so interesting? They usually have different textures and stuff... Here, this is what I'm talking about: Now, I thought it might be cool to try this with that in mind. I'm linking an Easter Egg Garland, but I'm sure you can use the same idea with different thread! To make them round, maybe use a regular balloon, instead?? What do you think? My link

So, our traditional February Exchange is sending out those little Valentine's cards we got in elementary school. Why? Because it's fun AND CHEAP, which I know we're all excited about these days! The way this works is pretty simple, you send out a card to everyone who signs up in this thread (since we haven't been having a lot of traffic with our exchanges, it shouldn't be a horrible list. If it gets to be one, we'll talk about how to handle it. :) ). In return, you get a card from everyone on this list. If you want to add more to the envelope than just a little V-day card, that's totally up to you! It's always interesting to see what comes in the mail! :) If you'…

Because I'm a pinning fool these days! I love all of the ideas people find and share and am in love with being able to organize the things I like in a place that I can access 24/7 from any computer I can get my hands on (including my phone!) So, is anyone else here a pinterest addict?

It's Arts & Crafts month and this is one of my favorite exchanges! I love seeing what people can do! The focus of this month's exchange is to create and send it to your buddy! For this exchange, there will only be one person to send something to (unless you just want to send it to everyone in this thread, then knock yourself out!). Things to keep in mind: 1- keep it cheap- we're not out to break the bank! 2- keep it light- postage gets expensive! Try to think of something you can get in a medium bubble envelope at the largest unless you're ok with the extra postage! 3- keep it FUN!- the second things start feeling like a job, they stop being fun. So, k…

It's been my experience (with my husband, don't think it's rather extensive) that girls REALLY don't care if a date is expensive or not. I know I don't. Don't get me wrong, I like dressing up and doing something nice, but I enjoy the things that take a little thought more. (Those are the things my husband isn't very good at...). So, I thought we'd put together a set of dating scenarios to help the wary date planner out when they're looking at their wallet and shaking their head. Feel free to post your ideas in here!

Let me start this thread by making sure you understand that I am not a professional counselor. If that's what you're after, please find someone who is. It's been my experience that when you think it's that serious... it probably is. What I am is a 34 year old mother of two, who has been with the same guy since I was 19 and who spends her day with fourth and fifth graders. I have an older brother, a younger sister and a good head on my shoulders. If you're after big sister kind of advice, I will be happy to help out! So, what can I help you with?

OK, now for a negative bent. I hate couples who make out in public parks where kids are. The last incident was seared in my brain when a couple in their late 40's were going at it. Ugh. It also makes me nervous to see middle aged men sitting in their cars at parks.

Normally, the routine is that someone posts a thread saying they want to join the Kin and then we do this, but... hey! There's no reason why the horse can't push the cart, right? A party is a party! So... *clears her throat and gets all official* *wraps a Blue sash around Ryrin's hips and kisses both cheeks* *grins broadly and throws confetti everywhere* WELCOME TO THE KIN (officially), RYRIN! :D Way to jump in with both feet!

I am a social worker with a mental health background. Currently I am managing a caseload of developmentally disabled (mostly young) people, many of whom have a diagnosis of mental illness as well. The rest are autistic. I also am liaison to several of our homes, most are for severe behavioral/mental health issues, one for individuals with medical needs who require nursing care. What are you doing?
