Today is Lemon Cupcake Day! Yeah, it sounds weird, but... What do YOU do with a lemon? Or a cupcake? *grins* part of me wants to ask that this conversation stays about cooking, but... The rest of me says "Bah! Have fun!" The 2nd part won, btw...

Lady, I know what you mean! In the evenings here, there's enough humidity to turn the air a golden yellow. It looks like old film stock in a movie. I love being outside when its like that!

Every year, people talk about what they want for Christmas. (Tommy wants a pair of skates, Suzie wants a sled, Billy wants an Ipad, etc). But, we can't share what we're giving with some people because it'd ruin a surprise for someone. (As much as I wanted to tell Mr. Moon last year about the Wok I bought him, I couldn't because it was a big gift. But his buddies thought it was awesome.) So, what are ya'll giving away this year that you have to tell someone about? I'm downloading a TON of books for Mr. Moon's e-reader. These are some graphic novels he's looked for that are out-of-print, books that are in a series he has been reading, and such. …

So, yesterday was National Ding-a-ling Day and that one is too good to pass up! A ding-a-ling is a person who does something brainless, whether they usually do or not. So, let's talk about the ding-a-lings that make you shake your head. Have you run across any ding-a-lings today?

This is one of my favorite activities every year and also one of the easiest! Sign up in this thread and send Christmas cards to other people who sign up! This has always been one of my favorite traditions here at the Kin, a thread dedicated to acknowledging all of the things you are thankful for. I've found that doing this every day makes the less happy things a little easier to take. So, for the month of November, try to post one thing a day that you are thankful for. If you can't do it every day, try to do it as often as you can. We'll see if this works as well for you as it does for me! Happy November, everyone!

Hi there my fellow Kinfolk! As many of you might know, I'm a graduate student working on a MA in History. I'm due to graduate this semester. The big blocker is this: Monday at 2 PM Central, I will take my oral exam with my two committee professers. I'm a little nervous.

Well, since there seems to have been a boom in posts around her I guess I'll put this up. Now this was something that I was introduced to on another board, and is good for the spammers out there (you know who you are) to achieve a higher post count. ;) The point is to get to 10,000 posts in this thread. I know, I know that's a lot of posts, but otherwise it's not a challenge. Each person numbers their post (1,2,3, etc. you should all be able to count). Anything else put in the post is just for the sake of being put there. And I'll start it out with... 1

Hey there Kin, Just letting you know that November 7-20 it is Light vs. Shadow Theme Week over in the Black Tower, and you're all invited! We'll have a ton going on over there, and already have sign ups for a One Power Tourny, and a Mafia Game, so feel free to sign up for those if you'd like.
