My grandmother passed away at about 12:45am, Saturday. The burial was earlier today. It was a beautiful service, and I know she would have liked it. I have had a rough few days to say the least, but despite how much I'll miss her, I know she's in a better place. If there is a Heaven, no one deserves to be there more then her. She was the most selfless, caring, giving person I've ever known or ever will. Kind to everyone, she always worried more about us then herself. She was like our Mother for a very long time, and I have learned so many things from her in my life. I'm thankful for everyday I had with her, and I know that someday I will see her again. I don…

As mentioned in this month's introduction thread, our thread of Thankfulness is a Kin tradition, and one we tend to post on a lot! As I think of this past year, many of our Kin family has had lots of struggles, frustrations and just some rough times! We have also had many joys and we have shared those with each other! At the beginning of the year, we also started a thread of what our goals and resolutions for this year were and have checked back in with each other with encouragement and congrats and sometimes a push! *grins* I'd like to challenge each of you this year to not just be thankful in general..but to take a moment to reflect back and then find three th…

I need to do something with my hair. My parents kinda want me to cut it. I don't know if I want to cut it and dye it blonde or just re-color the blonde chunk on my left side(I have lots of roots showing). So, I take it to the wonderful WoT people to help me decide! Either a: Cut it and color it or b: leave the length and re-color the blonde. This is what it is now: Front http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q41/tigara/213841.jpg Right http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q41/tigara/213854.jpg Left(where the blonde chunk is) http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q41/tigara/213908.jpg Back http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q41/tigara/213927.j…

Laughter, the jingle of harnesses, the murmer of voices, the sound of horses blowing air and stomping hooves drifted from the open barn doors at the Farm. A crisp and cool October night had fallen, illuminated by a full moon and a skyful of stars. The smell of Fall was in the air, smoke from the fireplaces, and campfires drifted on the slight breeze. Twinne walked into the yard, twirled, did a little Snoopy dance and then gave a yell.... KYN! LOR! Hey..you guys got that haywagon hitched up yet? GET A MOVE ON!! In response, the Haywagon, drawn by two huge Morgan horses came through the Barn doors, Kyn holding the reigns, chirruping the horses, while Lor st…

  18. Welcome to History 1313! This is where we will be talking about the beginnings and and origins of Halloween! Now here's a question..Is Halloween an American thing? Where did this celebration originate from? Do other countries celebrate with the festivities America does or something different? Is there a reason that has been lost for this night of festivity and frolic? The answer is YES! Our special Professor for this course will be Lady Ursula, with Twinnie assisting her! Other countries do celebrate the Halloween holiday..but not as Americans do and for different reasons. Thier celebrations usually focus on the dead..celebrating them or helping the…

September in the Kin is Disaster Relief Month. A time when we talk about and encourage our members to involve themselves in reaching out to help the community..world, regional, city, or neighborhood in a time of crisis. Although I'm not sure about the Kin's history...I'm pretty sure this came about around the time of 9-11. But, when you think about, in the US..September is also the hieght of Hurricane Season. We just saw Ike hit the Texas coast, and it was September when Katrina did her damage too and the terrible tsunami in asia! This year, I'd like to look at Disaster Relief from a bit different perspective. There is no doubt of the need for giving and help, vo…

Do you make resolutions every year? Do you break them? make them happen? Or maybe you make a list of 'Things to do in 2008'! LOL..our Elegant Eldest started our tradition of Resolution Support a couple years ago and showed all her Kinster's how well it can work!! That first year..she said she was going to buy a house, have a baby and get a job teaching..well she bought the house, started teaching..and then had a baby the next year!!! :D Personally, I don't make a resolutions...never seem to keep them!
