  8. We could have a contest on who's watched (Beginning to End) the worst movies, with the worst acting. ?

  9. Started by redarm,

Just curious what everyone is reading right now. Actually I want to hear what the last book you read was, what you are currently reading, and what you plan to read next. After finishing The Gathering Storm I read The Princess of Landover by Terry Brooks. It was a good book. The first in that series in a long long time. Now I am reading Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin. I am enjoying it greatly. I will read the next book in that series as soon as I finish that one. So... let's hear it.

  10. Started by Brily,

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I purchased a hardcover copy of The Eye of the World, hardcover first edition 34th printing. There is no inside cover art work on the front or back. Most of the copies I see on eBay have the interior cover art of a map. Were there printings that didn't have these maps? Thank you for any help you can give me.

So I have a dilemma. I have read the first 6 books of this amazing series... The Infinity Engines as is seen in the title of this thread. But I just now found out that a seventh one is on the way. Problem is I'm currently reading the first book for The Wheel of Time and I'm committed to the whole series. If I stop, then so will the thrill, flow, and vibe. It seems to me that the obvious choice would be to stick with The Wheel of Time, but I still needed to say something.... Thoughts?

  12. What are some old Stephen King books you havent read since the 1990 when you were a teenager in high school or just whenever? Books i havent read in a long long time Eyes of the Dragon. used to have the old paperback back in the mid late 1990s when i was in high school. Great fantasy book which Stephen King made for one of his sons I think Rose Madder Needful Things Bag of Bones The Stand - last time i read the sucker was when I had the uncut paperback with the tv movie cast on the front cover back late 1990something. God I miss that book lol.

It also allows you to post reviews and comments by episodes or by the series itself. That is what I like. Then, if you want to get personalized recommmendations based on what you rated, you can sign up for the PRO feature of Simkl. The good thing is, you can get the PRO feature for free if you logged in to Simkl every 20 out of 30 days. If anyone here is also using Simkl, and want to add me as friend, here is my profile: https://simkl.com/6716161/

  14. Started by SinisterDeath,

I recently started watching this show, after having it suggested... several times by @Elder_Haman. Last night I finished Season 3, Episode 3. I have never read the book series it's based on, and as a stand-alone TV series I'd say it's solid. I'd actually rank it above the Witcher in terms of Action/Drama/Plot. It's CGI budget is definitely lower than Witcher's CGI budget in Season 3, but that's apples to oranges. Season 1, Episode 1 had a fantastic battle scene that really set the stage for the entire show. Once the Danes put up their shield wall it left the audience saying: "Yeah, these British guys' are absolutely bloody fecked". As the seaso…

  15. Started by Delenn,

It's been ages since I read the books but I seem to remember a decent amount. I got about halfway into book 5, I think. That was Heretics Of Dune. I did have to look it up though. 😅 I have also really enjoyed the adaptations that have been done. So, am I the only one who is excited about the release? And is anyone doing a reread or a rewatch of any of the Dune movies in advance? In general, let's talk Dune! 🤩

  16. There are lots of new tv shows to watch, too many to keep up. But we still manage to get some old shows in our viewing schedule. Right now we are watching the old BBC SF show Blake's 7, which aired in 1979/up to the early 1980s. I was a kid, but I remember a lot of it. Pretty good still, even if the show is just a little dated. I also got my guy to watch another sf show from 1999-to early 2000s: Farscape. There are some overlapping themes between Blake's 7 and Farscape. And it is fun to find them. Basically, I had to really push Farscape because somehow it was not seen as interesting enough because they used puppets. But it works and the episodes are fantastic…

Anyone else been exploring this vast game? What's your Role of choice? I've been enjoying Space Scoundrel and trying to walk that line between good and evil. I still haven't stolen a ship but I'm on the hunt.

  20. Binge watched this in two days, and was at a loss now that it is over! I had never cried or laughed, watching any show before because I know shows are not real but this show made me laughed and cried so much. That is how good it is for me! My mother thought I was mad when she heard me laughing out loud to myself. I laughed when the DFQC said something like how XLH was as important to him as his own body and literally meant it, but XLH totally misinterpreted that he loved her. I laughed at the many such similar assumptions XLH made. I laughed when DFQC counted the flower in the garden being forced to do so, and how he hated crying but was forced to cry because of the lin…

  21. Now, I have mentioned a lot of the times that Tolkien's Legendarium and Jordan's Wheel of Time dovetail very, very well when you let your mind work around it a bit. General View Entire story of the Pattern, and all its ages and turnings, happen long after the War of the Ring and the War of Wrath: Morgoth was banished into the Void, and Sauron with him, along with many fallen Maiar. After that, Eru the Creator changed the passage of time on Arda so that it is cyclical and that Morgoth could never escape the Void. From age to age, he manages to make a bore in his prison and reaches the world of humanity, who call him Shai'tan and the Dark One. Sauron w…

  25. Well, it certainly wasn't the worst Resident Evil adaptation I've ever watched! Lance Reddick as Wesker honestly carried the show, and without him the show would have been absolutely crap. The Monster CGI was decent. (Better then the Witchers! lmao) The practical zombie make up was trash. Some scenes it honestly looks like they paid a bunch of drug addicts and homeless to run after people on camera. I'm almost positive I saw a Zombie doing the Naruto Run! Teenager Jade/Billie plot wasn't awful like some people say. Adult Jade/Billie plot was actually awful. Nothing against the actresses, the writing was just... oof. Fat dude doing his best…

  28. Started by SinisterDeath,

Monday I started my "7 day free trial" of Apple TV so I could binge Foundation. Finished the show in Two days, and I can honestly say I really enjoyed it, and can't wait for season 2. I have also read almost all the Robot & Foundation & Empire novels. The writers 100% added more drama, romance, action, espionage, then the books had and that's honestly a good thing. They changed the "main protagonists" in the part of the Foundation novel the show is based on into two women, and I felt that was fine, given Asimov himself said he sucked at writing women, they did a pretty good job all things considered. Spoiler I do …

  29. Thank you, once again, the amazing Todd Howard, may he prosper, for having such a game exist with so much ways to break it! I made another Skyrim character (add that to the millions...) and after doing Bleak Falls Barrow, and after talking with Farengar (and etc.) you are supposed to meet Jarl Balgruuf upstairs, at Dragonreach. But if you try to talk to him, he will just say "Not now."... at least until they get upstairs. I wanted some opinion on a question of mine... and I thought dm's community should satisfy enough. Who just continuously makes npcs in Skyrim say "not now", like for example Jarl Balgruuf?
