New show on NBC staring James Spader as an ex us military defector who has been off the grid for 20 years and has been living on the bad side for all that time. He has turned himself over to the FBI, and in exchange for immunity he will provide info on a list (the blacklist) of bad guys that are the worst of the worst so that they can be captured/stopped. The character will only do his revealing through a rookie agent profiler with whom it seems he may share a common past. I like it so far. There is plenty of action, lots of twists, and I love the way the main character screws with the feds constantly. Two episodes in and there are quite a few interesting story l…

I was wondering if anyone around here had seen HBO's new show True Detective. I have been watching it form its first episode and it is completely mind blowing. It stars Matthew Macaugheyand Woody Harrelson, both at the absolute peak of their game. The show follows two detectives through 3 time periods, the first takes place in 2012 is centered around the two detectives relating the facts of the case of Dora Lang that took place in 1995, and also tells of the dissolution of their partnership in 2002. I have found this show to the absolute best thing going on TV at this moment, its is a taunt and riveting character study of to polar opposite men and their disfunctions, and …

I haven't seen an anime I liked this much in years. Is anyone else watching this? The premise is that giant humanoids known as Titans rose up one day and killed off most of humanity. The survivors gathered together and built a big wall in a circle and the Titans couldn't get in for a hundred years. The show opens when the wall is finally breached after a hundred years of peace. It reminds me a lot of Starship Troopers. Watch it for free (with ads) here: http://www.crunchyroll.com/attack-on-titan

Fox will be making a remake of Carl Sagan's science show Cosmos. Neil deGrass Tyson will take Sagan's role with Seth MacFarlane and Ann Druyan as executive producers. While deGrasse Tyson is no Sagan, I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do with this show. As science shows go, I rate the original Cosmos as one of the best. Cosmos is set to premiere in 2013.

Just watched Desolation... actually a week ago. But no one made a thread on it, so here it is! I enjoyed it greatly! Sauron appearing and BECOMING the eye was badass. Sauron unleashing an army from Dol Goldur fits nicely as the 4th army in the Battle of the 5 Armies. And Smaug stole the 3rd act. I am nerd raging on Smaug being a 4 limbed drake and not a 6 limbed dragon... small things I guess. When Bilbo puts on the ring, he becomes invisible AND can hear the spider's language. It goes from clicks and noises to full on language (since they talk in the book, naturally PJ had to find a way for the audience to understand the spiders.) What you didn't notice: …

I've been watching a Let's Play of this game on Youtube for a bit now and I have something to say about it but it's spoilers so if you don't want those, well don't open the spoiler tags. Ok can we just talk for a minute about how freaking terrifying this game is? I mean this game went from a semi open world action/stealth game to freaking silent hill or some crap. Seriously what the hell man.

I watched it a few days ago, and I really don't think it is a bad film. Sure it is a more action focused film rather than history but it is really fun and I really loved every minute of the film. My favorite scene was when Themistokles tricks Artemisia into having sex with him and then just says ''no'' to her offer So anyone have a different opinion on the film ? :)

Some Reviews http://entertainment.time.com/2014/02/12/robocop-movie-review/ http://news.sky.com/story/1208049/robocop-review-reboot-is-anti-superhero-film http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/escape-to-the-movies/8795-Robocop?utm_source=latest&utm_medium=index_carousel&utm_campaign=all So basically,It wasn't as good as the original... I still think it's better than some of the sequels. But one interesting thought I had on this, especially from the 'first' review linked... Why do we assume that Jackson, while obviously playing a satire role of some pundit from fox news... Is actually playing a 'conservative'? If you step back from the …

my love of complex story lines with lots of characters, and more than 1 villain (witch is why i love wot) started here. You would never get a kids show now that is so detailed with characters being killed off. I loved the way characters would come in and out of the story, with everyone fighting each other.

Has been okay through the first two episodes, glad to see that Maggie and Don have split up. My main question is, was this whole Operation Genoa thing a plot device created by Sorkin? Or is this a real news story? I haven't heard about it before and you'd think that a legitimate story like that would be huge.

Cindy and I watched this two nights ago on Time Warner's on demand system. BBC did a TV movie telling the behind the scenes tale of the beginnings of the original Dr. Who show. David Bradley (Filch in Harry Potter) gives a poignant performance as William Hartnell here. In RL, Hartnell had a lot of trouble remembering his lines due to his ill health, and it got worse as his time on the show went on. Bradley's performance does a really good job of showing this, as he often stumbles during a take as the Doctor, and looks around disoriented a lot. We get shown a lot of the prejudices that were in place at the time in TV. Verity Lambert was elevated from a production assis…

So I was watching hockey the other night, and in overtime the puck gets deflected up in the air and comes down into the back of the goalie's pants. LOL, that's right. He doesn't seem to know that it's in there, so he slides back inside of the net. Since the goalie is in the net, and the puck is in his pants... it's a goal, and the game is over. I've never even imagined this might happen someday.
