MTV’s “Teen Wolf,” in which the lead gets his superpowers from a bite rather than his dad's DNA, is masterminded by “Criminal Minds” vet Jeff Davis. HitFix says: … a pretty by-the-numbers blend of teen angst and horror. … the goals of this "Teen Wolf" are so modest that, even though it meets them, I'd be more likely to listen to Mark Safan's synth-heavy "Win in the End" anthem from the 1985 movie than I am to become a regular viewer. … Time says: … seems to believe an MTV scripted series is, more or less, a CW series, except less original. … The idea, in a nutshell, seems to be: "One of those vampire shows that girls like now, except with werewolves." … …

Anyone? I just got it about a week ago, and I have to say that, so far, I'm rather satisfied. While I thought the whole thing being online would be rather lame (especially due to us having bad connection), it hasn't turned out to be much of a problem at all, and I have to say that the whole Achievements system does draw me in a bit. Besides various new changes to the original StarCraft of 10 years ago, I really love the alternate gameplay modes made my fans. For instance, there is a mafia "map"....

Anyone else been watching this? My thoughts are all follows: Djokovic is playing unbelievable tennis. I haven't seen Federer play yet this tournament, but from the way Rafa's playing, I expect Djoko to win the tournament. Would have liked to see Mardi Fish go further. The Monfils-Ferrer match is surprisingly close and awesome. Watching the 5th set play right now (2nd day - first suspended due to darkness) and this is ridonkulous.

“Shameless,” Showtime’s American version of a long-running British series, follows the scam-happy family of a hard-drinking, welfare-squandering patriarch. John Wells (“ER”) and John Abbott (“State Of Play”) handle scripting for the American version. It stars Emmy Rossum (“The Phantom of the Opera”), William H. Macy (“Wild Hogs”), Joan Cusack (“What About Joan”), Joel Murray (“Mad Men”) and Marguerite Moreau (“Parenthood”). The series is certainly better than its promos let on, though Macy really does chew too energetically on scenery. Some of it is a little predictable; a lot of it is too cute. The photography and direction are strong, as is a lot of the acting.…

Hello Entertainment Discussion Board. This is a fairly random post. Me and some friends were discussing the current kerfuffle with PSN being down. Dont get the wrong idea, I'm not here to complain about that, it doesnt even affect me much-gaming is but one of several things I use my PS3 for. We were talking about how Sony has always been about home entertainment, that they have been a good brand for some time now, and they have always had my respect as a brand. I have a Sony stereo that doubles up as a DVD player, I've had it for about 8 years now and it still kicks ass. Although it takes a min or two to decide if it has a CD or DVD in these days but its …

  8. I guess the first question... do you even want to see a new Star Trek on TV or do you want to keep it on the big screen? Next up... if you could pitch a series concept to a network, how would it go. Here is an interesting article about a long lost script that was rejected at the networks. I would like to see this series! I’d also like to see Bryan Fuller’s, which would follow a different Starfleet crew full of Kirk’s contemporaries in the Abramsverse. I miss Star Trek. I miss televised space shows. I’m bored to tears with poorly written “War of the Worlds” rip-offs. Maybe “Galactica: Blood & Chrome” will get it done at some point. But I do hope…

  15. In a joint announcement today, Paramount Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox and Lightstorm Entertainment are set to re-release James Cameron's "Titanic" worldwide on April 6th 2012. The long in the works 3D conversion of the second-highest grossing movie of all time will premiere around the 100th anniversary of the Titanic setting sail (April 10th). Cameron and producer have overseen the conversion. Cameron says "There's a whole generation that's never seen 'Titanic' as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen. And this will be 'Titanic' as you've never seen it before, digitally re-mastered at 4K and painstakingly converted to 3D. With the emotional power intact an…

The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the fourth announced today. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on CBS. Still faring well, though not as indomitable as it used to be, CBS made headlines more this year for the antics of "Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen than any of its other shows. With Ashton Kutcher now replacing Sheen, the new look 'Men' is staying in the same time slot and you can bet the network is desperately hoping it'll perform as well. In any case, CBS is actually making some significant changes this year in terms of scheduling. Most notably the new J.J. Abr…

The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the third announced today. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on ABC. With one strong reality performer ("Dancing with the Stars"), one solid light procedural ("Castle"), one acclaimed comedy ("Modern Family"), one decent rated comedy ("Cougar Town"), and two former flagship sudsers past their best buy date ("Desperate Housewives," "Grey's Anatomy"), the Alphabet is in need of hits to fill some big gaps in its schedule. Only two shows last season survived and both are modest raters at best - meaning this year the network is trying out thi…

When I awoke this morning I had a singular panicked feeling… that I had missed the screening of TREE OF LIFE this morning. It was the thought in my mind. Upon seeing the film, I’ve decided that I can not pollute the ruminations of my mind with a press screening in the armpit theater of Austin for PIRATES 4. It would be a disservice to do that. Today is Malick’s day for me. TREE OF LIFE could wind up being my definitive Malick odyssey that I’ve been raised towards. Unlike many of my friends, I did not come to Malick via Film School… My parents took me to Malick’s DAYS OF HEAVEN and BADLANDS upon initial release – and while I was far too young to ful…

It's the final season. I've been watching since season 1. So far the only thing I'm not really liking is the villain they chose. Or the way they're portraying him. Not sure if I'm allowed to say who it is, or I guess more accurately, who it's based on. So I'll wait till I find that out. I'm also not too crazy about where Oliver/Green Arrows story line went this last Ep.

With Charlie Sheen gone, CBS' "Two and a Half Men" looks like it's about to undergo a reboot reports MSNBC. Series creator Chuck Lorre has reportedly already come up with an idea for a series reboot which would include Jon Cryer cast alongside a new character. The likes of Woody Harrelson, Bob Saget, Jeremy Piven, and Cuba Gooding Jr. have all been floated as possibilities. It's also likely the kid, Angus T. Jones, would return for the reboot. Meanwhile, Sheen is still desperately trying to win back his job with the actor reportedly holding meetings with other cast members to try and win their support for his return. The studio however has adamantly declared t…

Anyone else watching this? I'm not a huge reality fan and I burnt out on Idol in season 3, so I was shocked to get so into this show. It surprised me and made me happy, both of which are rare with new tv. I love that it is positive rather than relying on one guy's insults to be entertaining. I think the format of the competition is more interesting as well, and I like all of the judges, especially since they are legitimately chosen for their ability and are invested in helping their proteges improve.
