This season of the office opened with much funny, IMO. Michael regales us with his mad parkour skillz, and in order to cover up Stanley's secret, he starts a bunch of rumors about the rest of the office. Good stuff. I liked that they had the "Summer Co-Op" workers there. The only thing that it didn't do is introduce any story hooks. It was a little weird, unless I missed it. :-\

I think the biggest mistake I made was giving out my gamer id to Krak. He loves to message me. The most recent message was "How is ODST? You should write a review about it on Chan." So here I am writing a review because it is much easier than trying to type it out on the Xbox. Did you play Halo 3? Then you have basically played ODST. I mean it uses the same game engine and all the multiplayer is Halo 3 MP. When I say that, I mean the game is actually two disks. Disk 1 is the 4 - 5 hour Campaign and Firefight. Disk 2 is the EXACT Multiplayer from Halo 3 (including all the map packs). EXACT! So basically there is no new Multiplayer, just a new campaign and Fi…

I'm reviving the Wonder Woman discussion in a new thread because the last one piggy backed on a Ghostbusters topic. Beyonce says she's Wonder Woman. http://geektyrant.com/2009/10/beyonce-is-wonder-woman-new-writer-and-director-attached/ I'm nervous about this. Honestly, I don't mind Wonder Woman being cast as a black woman. Sure, sure, Wonder Woman is Greek and has always been portrayed as white. But honestly, how many black super heroines are there? And isn't Wonder Woman one of those heroines all little girls wanted to be? So why not? It's fantasy, so it's not a big deal to me. Besides, it's been said that any tribe of women who might have actually…

Looks like my new strategy is continuing to bear fruit! Yet another last minute pick-up is racking up pickle points! Seems like some of the folks who voted against my team last week have learned their lesson, at least. Too bad no one did a recap of that one. I was pretty proud of my little maneuvering there right before game time.

I noticed this wasn't here in the thread anywhere and given that Sunday was the finale thought I would ask about thoughts on it. AfroBorike should not have made it to the finals. It should have been We Are Heroes, and Massive Monkees in the final 2. That being said...i'm glad that We Are Heroes was the winner.

Since JD lost and I won, I guess it is up to me to write this up this week. Team Diablos (JD) vs. Kynwric's Ghosts Have I already mention that JD lost? I keep bringing this up because I do not think I am going to be able to mention this next week. So I gotta get my licks in now. Tom Brady sucked this week. Coupled with the fact that Kynwric's TE got 27 Fantasy Points and the Dallas Defense was laughing at JD when they let Eli rack up TD's and you get a lopsided victory for Kynwric. Final: 114 to 76 (ouch) Emp's Words of Wisdom: Well I wanted to scold the Dallas Defense but you already took care of that. I can't point to any other holes on your…

Christian Slater is back! And hopefully this tv venture will have a longer life than the last one. The Forgotten is another crime drama in a sea of crime dramas, except this team's sold purpose is to put identities to Jane/John Does so that the chapter in the crime can be closed. I didn't catch this on its premiere night because I forgot about it. Instead I watched the drama fest that is Flipping Out. It's a shameful guilty pleasure, but one nothetheless. Seriously, that guy on Flipping Out is a Nut Bag! And his total arrogance is funny to watch. But I digress. Back to Forgotten. Pilot episode was interesting, but had a LOT of ground to cover w…

The season premiere was tonight and I thought it was awesome. Booth was in a coma and came back all freaked that he might be 'different'. Cindy Lauper guest stars as a psychic, and the continued romantic strain between Boreanaz and Deschanel is getting a little tired for me. I think that things are going to finally come to a head this season (I also secretly think that it's going to be the last season).

So any of you that watched friends know where I might be going with this. If you are in a relationship which 5 actors/actresses would be on your list to be excused by your partner? Here are mine: 1. Scarlett Johansen 2. Angelina Jolie 3. Thandie Newton 4. Jessica Alba 5. Selma Hyack

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that MGM is needing $20M in short-term cash flow to cover overhead, and an additional $150 million to get through the end of year to stay out of bankruptcy and possibly losing such franchise films as The Hobbit (and its sequel) and James Bond 23. Here's an excerpt from the article: So the bondhholders said to MGM, in essence, that they were going to let the studio go bankrupt and collect their money since they'd be first in line to get paid. But Cooper explained that this would be the worst possible outcome for the creditors and the company. Because if MGM were forced into bankruptcy, then it would lose James Bond and the studio doesn'…

So, I saw this last night. I really, really liked it. Unfortunately when I DVRd it and was watching it, about 10 minutes till the end I 'deleted' it off my DVR, like an idiot. So I gotta wait for Hulu to upload it. ;)

  20. Well, I missed the season opening on Tuesday, but thankfully there is a repeat of the first two episodes on Thursday. So, after Legend of the Seeker, it is time to see what Warehouse 13 is like, as it premiers in the UK. Comments to come after the first episode.

Why they ever decided to trade Arelene Phlilips for Alsiha Dixon is beyond ne. She hasn't said anything useful or constructive to the contestants, she's not a professional dancer, she's a singer. It's a shame that they should do that. Arelene has been an outstanding choreographer in teh Industry for years and knows what she ia talking about. Unlike Ms Dixon. Anyway, rant over! I still love the show, with all the dancing, I would so love to have the chance to be taught to dance by a professional dancer. But I can dream on.

Did anyone catch this series premiere last night? I didn't remember it aired, but just caught it on Hulu today. It started slow, but then found a possibly intriguing Sci-Fi stride. I watched it on my little computer screen and was moved by a few of the beautiful space scenes, so I can only imagine that it is 30 times better with a proper HD tv. I just hope it can find a nice balance between the sci-fi and drama. It's billed as a thriller, so it could be good if they do it right.

As Corki once pointed out neither Emp or I really do a weekly recap when we lose, as we're too busy licking our proverbial wounds (and random passerbys on the bus) but that is not a problem today for me. Thank You Tom Brady. Let me start with my game first, so that I can get it out of the way. Team Diablos - 67.95 Boyo's Soy Bombers - 62.39 Let me start by saying this, I have never in my many years of playing this game we call fantasy football have such a dissapointing week as I was having heading out of Sunday. My star running backs, Matt Forte and Steve Slaton, who I've banked my season on both underwhelmed, scoring 5.5 and 3.2 points respectivl…

First off...I haven't watched the VMA's in a VERY LONG time. However, I felt the need this year, mainly for the special performance at the beginning with Janet Jackson in honor of her brother Michael of course. Well I ended up recording the whole thing, and then reading about some of the things that went down so Dale and I watched most of the thing so we could see the drama. Now normally I like Kanye West...he WAS one of the FIRST and ONLY rappers to ever call the rap community out on their homostupidity (I think I've mentioned before that I think the word homophobia is a misgnomer). But his stunt on the VMA's was ludicrous and he should have known better. …
