I resist "going with the flow." I refused to read Harry Potter until last year, and only read DaVinci Code because someone loaned me a copy (so Dan Brown didn't get my money), and I read it in my own room so that no one else could see :) Likewise, I've dissed American Idol all along. I watched "X Factor" in the UK, I've even seen 1.5 episodes of the new Grease-themed American-Idol in a different venue show... I am willing to give American Idol a chance, if you, the people make it so. Tell me when it's on, and what you love about it, and I promise to watch three episodes without whining :)

Wooohoooo! Here we go again! Just call me the Girly Show chick of the Org. I can't help it, I love this show. Ian: Who knew he could dance??!!! I was a little surprised at how well he did in the first dance and especially being the first one out! Great Job Ian! I mean, it wasn't perfect or professional or anything, but it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it. I even clapped and gave them a loud Rock On at the end. Paulina: Well, I missed most of this one, but the bits that I saw looked ok. Billy Ray: Oooooh, Karina's wig was a tragedy! Ok, sorry, that wasn't dance related, but it was noteworthy. Hmmm, I don't think Billy Ray cha cha'd, but it was fu…

Yveva??? Where are you??? You watching??? Brittany was a little weird to me, but this week, man, she pulled out all the stops. She's fantastic! And oh, lord Jaseline. So much drama, so bad at the runway, yet so amazing in front of the camera. Crazy.

The following story is tailored made to throw kerosene on the growing console flame-wars: Game-makers Eidos has confirmed that it won't be releasing most of its major PS3 titles until next year, because the console's installed base will not be high enough before then. CEO Jane Cavanagh said, "We believe that PlayStation 3 will be a successful platform, and are developing technology and products for this console. However, as we do not believe that the installed base will be high enough until the second half of our 2008 financial year, most of our major product releases on the PlayStation 3 platform are not scheduled before that date." So there will be more game…

No disrespect to Eric Bana, but you just got p0wned, my friend. Edward Norton has been cast to replace Bana as Dr. Bruce Banner (pelted by gamma rays, then he becomes The Hulk, isn't he glamorous?) for the new film The Incredible Hulk, which makes an immediate and huge upgrade over the Bana version. Finally, we can respect the big green guy again. We're hoping that Norton uses all his Primal Fear-style goodness to bring Banner back to life. With the addition of a decent quality actor and (hopefully) a good script, the new Hulk stands a pretty good chance of wiping the original from our memory forever.

I have been hyping this for like months now and the show premieres very soon. I am going to go over some details about this show and hopefully get a few more of you excited about it. Please give it a watch and post your reviews back here. Premiere: 1-21-07, 9pm est, before new BSG on Sci-Fi Website: http://www.scifi.com/dresden/index.html Synopsis: Based on Jim Butcher's best-selling novels, The Dresden Files tells the story of Harry Dresden (Paul Blackthorne), a regular-guy private detective with extraordinary abilities. While most people see assaults, kidnappings or murders as the work of people with a depraved indifference for human pain, Harry is as likel…

So Emp and I watched an episode last night, and I rather enjoyed it. I HATED that chick who complains at her cousin the whole way though, argh!! I really super duper wish she'd been last. The poor cousin!!! I'd be kicking her in her sleep or getting out a voodoo doll or something. So does anyone else watch it? Who are you rooting for? Did you predict which team would be eliminated last night?

Okay the latest search for a star thing on the BBC is to find an unknown to be the leading man in a new production of Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. If you thought AI or X-Factor was bad this is making me shudder in horror!

I am looking forward to this spin-off.... love a focus on a bad guy. Variety is reporting that David Goyer will direct Magneto, the "X-Men" spinoff in development from 20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios that centers on the villain played in the original trilogy by Ian McKellen. After the first three "X-Men" films grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, Fox and Marvel hatched the spinoff program. Magneto will be the second such movie to go into production. First up is Wolverine, a David Benioff-scripted film that will star Hugh Jackman as the steel-clawed mutant; Fox and Marvel will set a director shortly on that pic. HSX stock number MAGNT @ H…

The board reads 41,401 and season 3.5 begins. Xena Cylon goes against the collective. Could a Cylon civil war be around the corner? As the shows progress, the skin jobs show more human characteristics. I mean half of them are in some type of love with a human. Oh snap, Helo just popped Athena. Bah, is this the one they were hyping to die in the promo. I was hoping it was going to be Anders. Anyway, I am going back to the show and will post more comments later.

For those of you who know me, you know we don't have cable or satellite and we had a crappy old 25 inch tv that was all fuzzy. Well, Marshall went insane on me and came home with a panasonic 32" flat panel high def something or other. I was floored. So, then we needed somewhere to put it, since it was too big for our old entertainment center... so we ordered this. In black-brown. And some matching side tables, and some little clear plastic baskets that fit in the shelving's cubbies and hold stuff like game controllers, etc. So, over $1000 later, we have a tv. And I can watch Heroes in high def, because we actually get that station now! No more watching on NBC.c…

It’s a genre-bending Fox hourlong about seemingly ordinary people – a Nebraska landscaper, an abused new mother, an Iraq vet and his girlfriend, a young paroled convict and his rich-kid half-brother, an astrophysicist and his Lohan-y teen daughter, a trio of party girls, and many, many more - unexpectedly plucked from their lives by powerful and mysterious (and sadistic and malevolent?) forces to compete in a secret cross-country road race for a $32 million grand prize. Some are in the race for the money. Some are in the race to find out what happened to their missing (kidnapped?) loved ones, who may (or may not) be waiting at the finish line. Darkly funny, exciti…

Bioware's upcoming space-epic RPG Mass Effect might be the best looking console videogame ever created. Check out the screenshot yourself. The GDC demos going on as we speak are producing shock and awe in those lucky enough to check out the thing. There's no release date for the 360 title, but be sure we'll let you know when something, anything, is announced about this one. We predict it's going to be monstorous. A few screenshots:

Ok, i've shoved it here. films, books, tv, games. Anything underrated. Like i said before, Event Horizon. Also, the Rocky films. Far too many people will simply refuse to watch them because they feel that's it's all balls and violence. Yeah Stallones ego and over patriotism kinda spoiled them a bit, but come on. The first, the second and the most recent were pretty damn awesome. There's more too them, there's story, there's feeling and drama and the soundtrack really grabs you. My GF detested the idea of watching them but after 1, she was hooked and we watched them all that same day.

ps. Watched the second episode last night, and I am still SUPERdiggin' this show. The first one, as I mentioned in the now missing thread, reminded me of "Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels," but this one moved much more slowly. There's excellent character development, some eye-candy for Karana, and plenty of directions for the plot to move. I still like the narrator character, you don't hear from him quite as much this time, but there's a new gag that was amusing (the cops ask him how he knows parts of the story and he claims to be there, suddenly he appears in the narrative and the other characters ask if he was there all along. It was funny, and not overdone). …

Maybe I'm re-asking a question that's been asked before, so forgive me up front if that's the case. I really don't have the time to read all the threads  I roamed through the movie/tv threads a bit and for the most part it seems focussed on american tv series. Is there a delegation from Europe in this org too? I guess what I'm trying to ask is how much of a participation us Europeans could do here, given the difference in programming and even movies in the theater that are coming out. Corki keeps boasting about this org, so the brat had me curious now... *rolls eyes at her MG*
