Welcome to the Red Ajah's Autumn Fair Sugglebiting Booth! The Red Ajah is known for its' Snugglebiting abilities. Each and every Red must learn to snugglebite without spilling a drop of blood. Now, much of the time, snugglebiting is restricted to the Red Ajah Halls, but in honor of the Red Ajah Autumn Fair, we have decided to bring the Snugglebiting to you. Of course, Snugglebiting does not come free. At least not for this Fair anyway. Just like paying for the kisses at the kissing booth, payment will be required here too. Payments can be in many forms. Servitude, ego stroking, and pampering are all recommended, but contributions to the White Tower will ensure …

You know who you are! <3 Thanks for putting up with me, btw. I know it's been hard *laughs* The White Tower has been the first…

Poetry Contest Poetry is a lot of things to a lot of people. There are as many definitions of poetry as there are poets. Wordsworth defined poetry as "the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings;" Emily Dickinson said, "If I read a book and it makes my body so cold no fire ever can warm me, I know that is poetry;" and Dylan Thomas defined poetry this way: "Poetry is what makes me laugh or cry or yawn, what makes my toenails twinkle, what makes me want to do this or that or nothing." The autumn season is a time of change and has many different meanings to people around the world. Some may find beauty in the changing of the leaves while others see only a bitter t…

Many years ago, there was a king in China. He was a brave man who did lots of belifits to the people. He admired a beautiful girl and made her stay in the palace so that he could see her whenever he wanted. But, the girl did not like the frightful figure of the king. She seldomly spoke a word in the palace. Each time the king went to her place, he used to show her some treasures and brought some gifts to the girl in order to make her smile and speak. On every full moon, the girl would burned incenses and wax candles to worship the moon. People believed that there was a god lived in the moon that made the moon shine. Girls who wanted to be a beauty and have a handsome …

PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST PUMPKIN CARVING HISTORY: It originated from an ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which was celebrated from sunset on October 31st to sunset on November 1st, to honor the deceased relatives and friends. It was believed that the veil between this world and the other world was at its thinnest on this night and thus, it was considered the most magical night of the year. The ‘magic’ element of Samhain night has filtered down to the present, along with the tradition of glowing jack-o-lanterns that were originally carved from turnips, pears or gourds. Burning lumps of coal were usually placed inside these jack-o-lanterns. Thereafter…

Bobbing for Apples A Brief History hauntedbay.com Bobbing for apples of today is a fun, traditional Halloween party game. Here is a list of what you need and some tips to play at home. Things You'll Need large party tub water apples towels and prizes 1 Set the party tub on the ground where you want to play. 2 It is easier to fill tub with water after placing it where you want to play (it will get heavy). Fill the tub, but leave 4 to 6 inches of space at the top so that water doesn't slosh out. 3 Toss in several apples to float. 4 Place some towels at base of the tub to prevent the floor getting wet, if playing inside.…

Hello there! I'm Myriam, and, after being away for half a decade, I've happily made my way back to the fabulous WT and am getting the lay of the land. Since so much has changed the past six years or so, I was hoping you lovely people wouldn't mind telling me what you love about your Ajahs here in the WT SG. I've been lurking the past few days and love the friendly attitudes and sweetness I see on the public boards. But what happens behind the scenes? In other words, I need the dirt! ;) Everyone who participates will receive a custom haiku about the topic of their choice. So be sure to specify what you would like a haiku about in your responses. If you do not …

Autumn is by far my most favorite season. I know what I like the most about this season but I have so many it’s hard to chose just one. The holidays are great! Halloween is always fun, to dress up and scare the kiddos! And who doesn’t love Thanksgiving? Turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie! Then there’s football of course, and with three boys at home I get a lot of that! But I love the crisp clean air and the slanting light, especially in the late afternoon and bundling up with a blanket and book. Hot soups and stews, and having a fire in the stove, and of course the colors. We even drive to certain areas just to see the changing colors on the trees. …

I am running an event soon. I shall be auctioning members of the White Tower for fun and all. The member who "buys you" can order you around for a time of three or so days. BUT, this is also a learning experience. If an Aspie buys you, you can also teach them stuff. And stuff. >.> And explain why you can't just disband the Red Ajah. hehehe Mother, Fnorbot, le Keeper and certain other members will be reserved to only Aspies. This mean that only Aspies can "purchase" them. Unless they buy themselves. heh Frequently Asked Questions People to be Auctioned: Mother Fnorbot Tynaal Adell…

I am a bit late in starting this. Sorry! Fruit, nuts and seeds Blackberries ripening Early in the autumn plants across the country look to the future: dispersing their seeds through a number of techniques so that they can spread and grow next spring. From September onwards you're likely to see lightweight seeds like sycamore 'helicopters' travelling by air. Prickly specimens such as beech nuts hitch a ride on animal coats. Acorns appeal to mammals and birds alike as both squirrels and jays bury them to provide meals through the cold winter. Inevitably they don't remember the location of all their stashes but it's win-win for mother nature as the neglected nut…

I love Fall, it is my favorite time of year. I always find it interesting that some people use the term Autumn instead of Fall so I had to do some researching into why that was. What happens in the natural world during this season? The leaves on many trees die and fall to the ground. About five hundred years ago, when Middle English was spoken, expressions like "fall of the leaf" and "fall of the year" were quite common, and the season name "Fall" comes from them. The word "Autumn" is a little more mysterious. It comes ultimately from Latin "autumnus", which itself is of uncertain origin. In Middle English, spoken about five hundred years ago, it was spelled "aut…

One of the timeless activities of Autumn is the stuffing of the scarecrow. Scarecrows were originally used to scare away birds from the fields. Many times they are made of old clothes and hay or grass. This contest will be for the best scarecrow made by you. To enter our contest, please post a picture of a scarecrow you have stuffed. If you don't have a scarecrow, never fear! You can play this game we found. Have fun!
