I would love to examine her posts to try and glean hints about how she might influence the production haha. What plot elements were important to her, what kind of changes she would advocate, push back on, etc. I think it would be very enlightening! Rafe is an unknown element, we know very little beyond the infrequent Q&A's, but Sarah *has* to have been more active in the fandom right?

what's wrong with the frozen arrows? the flying ax-man, I'm all for it, i already expressed criticism about it. but frozing the arrows mid-air? it's a perfectly established use of the power, and i saw nothing wrong with it. what am i missing?

In her latest video Lezbi Nerdy pointed out that almost all the men in the Winespring Inn clip seem to have a beard, and she speculated that it might be similar to how women braid their hair when they come of age: when men come of age, they grow a beard. Unless they can't, which is usually a matter of genetics. And who's the one person in the clip who doesn't have a beard? I thought it was a really cool theory, and if true, could be another subtle detail that sets Rand apart (and probably makes him super self-conscious). What do you all think? Link to Lezbi Nerdy's video for reference: https://youtu.be/tvL5InZerow

in the context of the first episode, when will that scene come? is it even a scene taken exactly? We've been told, more than one year ago, that the show would open with lan and moiraine along the road. This scene looks very much like an introduction to them, though, which brought me to think maybe this was the first scene in the episode. But this clearly makes no sense. rand and perrin talks about egwene's ceremony, and we see it on the teaser trailer. it would make little sense to show it in flashback, so we get the ceremony before this. And probably more scenes. But then, this scene makes no sense if they weren't introducing lan and moiraine as cha…

I think the biggest issue people have with the Winespring Inn clip is with Lan and Moiraine's entrance. After Lan comes inside, he stands a beat or two too long - posing with his hood up. People have suggested that this feels cheesy and unnatural and after watching it a few (hundred?) more times, I get the criticism. (I'll note that, for me, it's not a "deal breaker" or something that completely turns me off or makes me think the whole production team is trash) There's also been some speculation (and even analysis of the metadata) that suggests we aren't seeing the same exact scene we will see in the show. I think that's a good bet. So, what if the…

I really like the chick they got for Elayne... Ceara. She looks the part. I think the other two are Verin & Lanfear. Any other theories?

Naturally, we will never know the exact numbers, but there are pr materials. (I will not bring it up that the population of the US is 332 million.) Shadow and Bone, despite being hyped up to the sky, 'racked up 721 million minutes of viewing time (in 3 days), equivalent to an average audience of about 1.75 million viewers (based on its total running time of 413 minutes). It finished second among original series to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+ (796 million) and third overall.' The Boys (Amazon): According to Nielsen the first season of The Boys had attracted 8 million total viewers in its first 10 days of release (This must be a global number, bec…

https://www.stockholmfilmfestival.se/sv/program/2021/festival#15511 As the title says - the first 2 episodes will be screened, in a film theater no less, on the 17th of November. I frequently work in Stockholm, I will REALLY try to book a meeting with someone on the day.

Brian Tyler who wrote the F1 theme, I can imagine power themes like this for a lot of scenes. In fact, if you have to use generic trailer music I wouldn't mind parts of this at all literally used. 1:45 and 4:48 have particularly epic riffs.

I'm not someone who needs everything to happen in an adaptation like it does in the book. This is why I prefer the Kiera Knightly Pride and Prejudice to the Colin Firth miniseries (Heresy, I know). However, I do ask my adaptations to understand the vision of the original and transmit that into the new medium. A few things about the WoT TV Series have me worried. 1. The fact that Rand is barely even in the trailer. He's the main character! He's the Dragon Reborn and he's got like 2 seconds of screen time in the trailer. I know they're really trying to bank on the "feminist fantasy" angle, but still. 2. The fact that Rafe Judkin's wiki entry on his Surviv…

Ok hear me out. Marin immediately recognises the Ring and without hesitation calls Morraine, Aes Sedai. If someone had just heard descriptions of the Ring, they may think to themselves that's an Aes Sedai Ring but most would not be so quick to name the person wearing it as such.. She probably went to the tower 30 odd years before, signed the Novice Book but either could not Channel or was extremely weak and was sent out of the Tower after a few months. This would make a good way to introduce to the viewers what an Aes Sedai is and where they come from, maybe she addresses the Women's Circle and or the Town Council the next morning, telling them and the Vi…

So I've watched the trailer once, and immediately it looked PG-13 at best. Then I see on Amazon's web page they give it a TV14 which backs up what I saw. I don't claim to be a WoT expert (read the first book 20 years ago) but I'd be lying if I said this didn't turn me off somewhat. I'd like to here from the WoT experts as to whether this series is in fact a young adult series and the trailer was accurate.

Edit. Most likely false. Mods can delete this if they want to. ? Found it on The Dusty Wheel discord. It's probably easy to find yourself so here's the link. https: //www.reddit.com/r/WoT/comments/q5rf4c/i_have_seen_the_entire_first_season_some/ Can we keep all of the talking and speculations of that in this thread and USE SPOILERS? I for one don't want to read that because I want to see the changes myself and it's not 100% certain thats real. It's only two months until last episode airs.

Once upon a time ... In an age long past and an Age yet to come, Robert Jordan blew a lot of wind that made it sound like Demandred and Mazrim Taim were secretly the same person. Then all the fan theories sprouted and Jordan seemed to change his mind. Since the series is set to streamline the WOT character line up, what are the odds this little chestnut will be a thing? I'd be ok with it, and it would make sense for the story and would be a nice way to pay homage to the long term WOT fanbase too imo What do you think? ?

I feel quite satisfied with what this long awaited preview provided. Not blown away... Just satisfied and relieved. Pros The environmental setting is spot on! 100% The Fade looks savage! 100% Tar Valon & Dragonmount... Priceless Cons Nynaeve looked a bit to cheerful? Music? Nothing compelling so far... Thoughts?

Alright, here’s the deal. You get to eliminate three storylines from the TV series. You only get three. And like Balefire, be mindful of its possible impacts. I’ll go first. 1. Faile. Yes, everything. 2. Elayne’s Andoran Succession. God I hated virtually every page devoted to this. 3. Bowl of the Winds. Yes, I think this could speed up and improve the series immensely.

So if this is more than a rumor is it going to completely change the Perrin and 2 Rivers arc? I loved the way this arc was written.

I remember reading before the first COVID-19 shut down that filming was complete on the first 6 episodes. They are now filming season 2. If Rafe is over in Europe to be involved with filming, is his part of post production done? Why are we waiting until November to air? Are they trying to find the sweet spot for max success and how do they determine the window? Sorry, I obviously don’t know how this stuff rolls out…

***regarding spoilers if responding don’t use names just make implications if you can.*** “you know who’s” etc… One disgruntlement GoT fans had were the teasing out of prophecies and symbolism that was either tossed to the wayside or completely forgotten. So, how do you think the prophecies for the Dragon/Car’a’carn/ Coramoor should be used in the show? would they be a good thing to incorporate or bad? Why or why not? I think it could it be a fun mystery/puzzle to attract non-book readers into figuring things out even after the first large reveal, but unlike in GoT they will actually get those revelations answered in significant ways.

So, before I get into this yes...yes I get it. If this thing is in fact a waygate its blasphemy and should be balefired out of existence, I get it. We've had that conversation on the site and I don't think it needs to come up again. Now lets try to do something POSITIVE... or at least constructive XD That being said I wanted to discuss it as one in this thread from a more positive standpoint. Architectural, Practical, etc. So I'll kick it off with a few things ? First. Yes, this isn't your father's waygate. However from a cinematic standpoint - depending on how its portrayed it could...make a ton more sense tha…

channelers age slower than normal people. kinswomen and damane live up to 600 years. they still look 30 when they are centenarian. aes sedai always look ageless because of the oath rod. they still live to 300. that's in the books. in the show, there is no ageless look. aes sedai look like their aging normally. so one would assume that they'd age slower, like kinswomen. but moiraine looks 40. she looks her actual age. how can it be? she's a channeler, and a strong one. she's slowed. she would not look 40 until she was at least 200. nor can they just change her to be older; they can do it with other aes sedai, but the story of the hunt f…

I think most of us expect things to get condensed, but how? How would you do it. I expect some people would want 14 seasons one for each book? What do you think about that? I would have the first 3 books in the first 2 seasons, the next three books in the next 2 seasons. Books 7-11 should get cut down to 2 or 3 seasons. Maybe 2 Seasons for Sanderson's run. What kind of changes would that mean for the story though?
