So thought this was worth its own thread vs being added to the interview thread. An interview with the episode 7 director going into, among other things, the Matt changes. wont preempt anything will let people watch and offer opinion.

So, Min has a vision of Matt stabbing Rand. She assumes it kills Rand. (Loial survived getting stabbed.) However, she had a vision in season 1 of Rand holding a baby. That turned out to be related to the world Ishy showed Rand to convert him to the shadow. It was not real. Based on this, could this vision also be of an alternate reality or some such thing? Could this be one of the wounds Rand gets in his side if Matt uses the dagger?

With mat's escape from the tower At the beginning of season 2, Part of me is worried that he won't be there to beat the crap out of galad and gawyn. I'm sure they'll keep it in, Since it's such an epic moment for mat and a fan favorite. But with so many changes to the story, I'm worried they'll drop it because it doesn't actually Have any necessary plot elements. I'm hoping that they have to take the Dagger back, And mat is the only one that can safely hold it, So he's forced to go back with them and be rehealed After holding the dagger for so long.

in the wheel of time, many characters go from zero to hero. they often do through training during time skips. just in the current season, rand will have to learn the sword and the power. the girls spent months in training in tar valon, and now egwene will be trained in warfare as damane. yet we are not getting a feeling for this. we have exactly one scene of training in the tower. and so far, rand talking to a swordmaster once. anyone else thinking that some training montage sequences to show the main characters spending a lot of time practicing would help immensely to convey the message "this character spent a few months practicing, expect a power up nex…

I actually really love the costuming on the show. There’s a couple choices I think are odd (Amalisa’s weird puffy skirt.) but for the most part I think the costumers did a good job of reinterpreting the books. It is definitely not what I pictured when I read, but it works. Anyways, Bernadette Banner is watching the show and has decided to recreate Moiraines Tar Valon gown so here’s a video of pure seamstress porn.

We have repeatedly been treated to scenes involving the one damane who has been hunting channelers. There have been several times now where we have had shots of her eyes expressing a certain degree of anguish at what is happening. Wonder if this is Alivia…

Inspired by the reveal of Liandrin having an elderly son and by some things I was reading on Reddit and elsewhere, I wanted to discuss Aes Sedai aging and what it might mean for the personal timelines of characters we care about. I've tagged this thread with both show spoilers and book spoilers because while I'll be sticking solely to the show, I wan to allow others to bring whatever book knows they might possess to bear. Rosamund Pike said in an interview that Show!Moiraine is in her 70s, and it's heavily implied in Season 1 that she, Alanna, Siuan, and Liandrin are all contemporaries of one another at the Tower and that Moiraine and Liandrin were "Pillowfri…

I was rewatching season 1 when me father walked into the room. He asked what I was watching and I told him WOT. He said, "Cool how they reworked that Zeppelin song." When I asked what he meant, he said go listen the the third Led Zeppelin album, the song 'Friends'". I did, and damn if he is not right. I am looking for others thoughts. Listen all the way through the song.

So I might be wrong but I think we got our first full American accent in episode 3, and it was Seanchan. So far Randland has been presented as pan European/Asian with a mix of English, Spanish and Asian accents and looks. I didn’t really think about that, being British in my head I have always thought that the characters in Randland where European and have never given any fantasy character an American accent ever lol. But I am intrigued if a decision has been made to make the Seanchan American, it makes sense creatively as a way to differentiate Randland from Seanchan, but also the “Americans” are returning back to there home. But I wonder how that lan…

I am planning on watching it again to recall the show specific things. The first watch through had me a bit angry with the deviations from the book. A subsequent watch through was much more palatable. Anyone else watching it again? My daughter wants to watch it with me, but she wants to wait until Season 2 releases so she can binge them and not have to wait week to week. I will probably watch without her first to get the angry part over with and enjoy it more watching with her afterward.

On youtube season 2 episode 4 promo trailer at minute :54, it appears to be Mat on left side of screen leading charge against Seanchan across sea fort parapet. The group he is leading appears blurred with different clothing, armor, and weapons. Heroes of Horn sighting? No obvious Rand or Mat. I am going to rewatch episodes a few more times before any other comments. Not enough benadryl to stop itch from current nits over running me.

I have seen many bemoan the fact that Rand has not done any sword training yet because he needs to be a master swordsman to face off with Turak in season 2. I agree I hoped for some fight training by now but ot seems people don’t get that fight scene at all, and as a result are going to be disappointed. Rand in book 2 is not a blade master by any stretch, in fact he wins that fight by luck not skill. If you actually re read the fight initially he is played with, toyed, partly because Turak wants to see how good a blade master in Randland really is, wants to measure him up, see his flows. Rand sees very quickly he is out classed, massively. He gets owned…

So for a bit of context, i am loving season two so far, i think this is a massive step up on season one in so many ways. But after watching episode three it got me thinking, how are they going to shoot the end of season two? Im thinking more specifically the 'horn of valere being blown' and the 'battle in the skies'? I think, especially the battle in the skies, if it is not done right, there could be a fine line between it looking great, but also looking a bit, silly? Maybe especially for non-book readers who are just watching the show. Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are, will they keep close to the books, and if so is there a …

In the last episode moiraine masks the bond so lan doesn’t follow her to the eye. Or something like that. Then she is cut off from being able to touch the OP. When lan finds her he is relieved that she is alive meaning the masking of the bond is apparently still in effect. I had been under the impression that any weave that is created has to be upheld to some degree by the channeler, such as maintaining a shield. I know that weaves can be tied off as a way of avoiding having to maintain it, but I don’t recall if tying it off would maintain the weave indefinitely. I assumed that if a channeler is shielded then they can’t access the source therefore any weaves in progress w…

I am just trying to imagine how much training, conditioning, and practice it takes to be able to consistently throw massive axes 100+ feet and impale a human in the center of their torso. At times with enough force that the blade protrudes from the other side of their body. I wonder if they could show a trolloc camp with axes stuck in targets where they have been practicing or having competitions? Think of the additional world building that could be done with this.

I honestly believe Gawyn has the potential to be one of the most interesting characters in the TV show... If the showrunners can make him actually likable. Let me know if you think my suggestions would be enough to change your opinion of Gawain, or if he's irredeemable.

So in the Great Hunt Spoiler Moraine spends most of the book offscreen "doing stuff" some of which involves her going to Toman head, finding the Seanchan and then rescuing Aes Sedai, this is all explained in about 2 lines of dialogue so is easy to miss. Now given that if we are to assume that Moraine is heading in the same direction (having been sent there by Verin's comment about prophecy) would a shield be a handy narrative reason to explain why she can wander amongst the Seanchan without being detected doing on screen what off page she said she did, and, would maybe a nasty thing to do if she was still being a problem to a certain…

I am currently watching Witcher Season 3 (only through episode 5, so please no spoilers) and found myself disliking all the different, independent character threads being interwoven throughout the series. I find them both distracting by upsetting the flow and timing as well as somewhat confusing because it always takes awhile to remember what the thread is trying to accomplish. I didn't watch GOT but found the LOTR series irritating for the same reason. WoT, somewhat in season 2, but on steriods in later seasons, has this same problem. In season two, we have at least independent arcs on Rand, Moiraine/Lan, Mat doing Mat things in Tar Valon, Perrin chasing th…

So 2 days away from season 2 premier. I have a thousand ways I would have done WoTprime differently for my personal enjoyment. I just wasn't willing to part with 50 million US to get my anime adaptation with Critical Role actors doing voice work. So here we are. I decided last month to stop my current reread. I watched season 1 again up through ep 7. I am head creating ep 8. I am cleansing my pallette of all my preconceived anger and I am going to try and watch season 2 and WoTprime as its own entity. I hope we can all get some joy from the show and have many more great conversations about it.

Now that we have some info on Perrin moving forward, how do you see his arc in season 2 and 3 progressing? Trailer indicated Perrin will be violent at points in 2. Also he will be communicating with wolves(Hopper) in some manner. He is chasing Horn with Shienarans, meeting Elyas, no axe or hammer confirmed, probably in a flicker or Tel seeing his daughter or sister maybe, Avi is replacing Gaul and confronting Whitecloaks, Perrin swears oaths to Seanchan after capture. So do we think we will see Perrin with Verin? Will Perrin free wolfbrother from cage and be called a good man? Faile intro? Any smithy scenes?
