  3. Welcome to the Amyrlin's Blessing, the best inn in Tar Valon. I am the Amyrlin for this event and I bid you all to pull up a bench, and have a drink - not for the Novices or Algai, mind! - on the house. All here can tell jokes, and the person that tells the joke with the most upvotes - we would judge them but this fine Andoran red is going down far too easily and probably I will not be a good judge - will win the title of "Jester" so they can show off and be the envy of their friends. One joke per post, the punchline, if appropriate in Spoilers - highlight the necessary text and then click/tap on the Eye icon above between Quote and …

Elgee Sedai, The Watcher of the Seals, the Flame of Tar Valon, the Amyrlin Seat, glided into the massive Ogier built Great Hall in the center of Tar Valon. *flicker* All manner of people, including Aes Sedai, used this place when large amounts of people needed to be accommodated. *flicker* She hesitated, feeling slightly disorientated, but then shrugged the strange feeling off and began inspecting the work done by the Tower Servants so far. They had only just begun setting up the room for tonight’s big Ball, but it paid to head off potential disasters early … *flicker* What on earth was wrong? Anyhoo, the decorations that were j…

  7. Started by EirikDaude,

You are walking along the streets of Tar Valon, enjoying the festivities of the Feast, when you come along a dunk tank. Up on the ledge, the Sword Captain of the Warders is sitting in just his tighty whiteys. A small target is next to him, and in front you can see a table stacked with small, heavy balls. *flicker* You are no longer walking the streets, you are staring down the Sword Captain who is carefully aiming a ball at the target next to you... Or is he aiming for your unmentionables? It's kinda hard to tell. You know which one you are hoping for though. *flicker* You are back at the street, just having let go of the ba…

  10. In the Wheel of Time, Bel Tine, also known as Festival, is the Westlands celebration of spring's arrival. It is not set to a specific date, and comes later in northern lands than in the south. It's typically celebrated "when spring had well and truly arrived, the first lambs born and the first crop up." The night preceding Bel Tine is known as Winternight. This is not something I remember from the books (please do correct me if I’m wrong!), but in the adapted TV series, the following tradition is practiced: It is a custom on Bel Tine to light a lantern for deceased loved ones. The purpose of the lantern is to guide their lov…

  11. As seasons come and pass, we're in the change of seasons. As spring arrives here in the Northern hemisphere and fall arrives in the southern hemisphere. In honor (or dishonour, depending on how you feel 😂) of the change, I thought it would be fun for us to list some of our favourite or least favourite things about the change of season! This can be specific to the upcoming season or just things in general. What are your top five? Here are mine: Favs 1. Spring means sunshine and warmth. Which also leads to swimming and scuba diving! 2. The smell of freshly cut grass, nothing is better than that. 3. For fall, the change of the colour of the…

  12. Is it Spring or Autumn? What do you do to celebrate this time of year? Here in the States, it's Spring, and mostly, we celebrate with dyed eggs and the Easter Bunny.

  13. Started by Dar'Jen Ab Owain,

So as eggs seem to be appropriate item of discussion at this time of year, let's have some fun. Do you decorate eggs for Easter? Color them? Or hide the plastic ones filled with treats? Feel free to share some of your decorations. (Or you can always draw out a design you'd like to try some day.) Perhaps you don't decorate eggs, but are still a fan of the tasty treat. Do you have any particular way you like to prepare them? (You are welcome to share images or recipes.) How appropriate that I had eggs and steak over biscuits with gravy for dinner tonight!

  14. Started by Elgee,

There are many cultures in the world, and many ways to remember those who've passed on. How do you remember? Do you follow the traditional way of your culture or religion, or have you developed something of your own? Please share with us here.

  15. In the Northern Hemisphere of Earth, in this year of 2023 AD in the Gregorian Calendar, it is the beginning of Spring. To celebrate this, we here at Dragonmount will be hosting a week-long event (using the 10 day version of a week, as per the Farede Calendar in use by the Westlands). All are welcome to participate. There are many celebrations and events associated with this time (Spring / April / May) here on our Earth, and on the Earth of the Wheel of Time. You can see much more detail in further threads to follow, and also at Wikipedia. As examples, here are a few: Easter is one of the most important festivals in the Christian…
