  1. Started by Senexx,

The Browns are so excited to bring you Travel Week this year. Do you know why? The event is actually one week, but not any regular old week but a Wheel of Time week. Can anyone tell me how many days that really is? In the meantime checkout these wicked threads with all the fun activities. I promise, you'll have a totally awesome time participating because we have some of the soon to be legends of DM hosting. 1. Travels through the Imagination 2. Vacation Memories 3. Why we should/should not Visit your Hometown 4. Worst/Least Favorite Vacation 5. Favorite Vacations 6. Travel Tunes

  2. Hello all , Have you ever felt like some of your vacations were your worst vacations or, have any least favorite vactations ? What had made them the worst or your least favorite vacation? Please share them with us .

  3. Welcome to the Brown Ajah's Travel Week :) I've never been one for roaming the world, though I often wander far afield in my imagination. If you could go anywhere in time, space, or mind, to a world already created, or one yet to be imagined - where would you go, with whom, and why? how would you get there? what would you seek? what would you find? how would you live, and would you come back? Would you companion yourself into a TARDIS trip? Stow away on The Enterprise? Take one small step and a giant leap through a Stargate? Steal the keys to the Millenium Falcon and take her for a spin? Would you seek out lost Gallifrey, or some planet in the Duniverse…

  4. Welcome to the Brown Ajah's Travel Week! In this thread, we discuss our favourite vacations. In my case, that would probably be one of my various trips to Dragon Con. Which trip, well, let's see ... I've been there six times and they were all awesome trips in their own ways, but if I was going to pick tops, it would have be either 2008 or 2012. 2008 was my second D*Con; the first time there (2007) it took me quite some time to really get used to things, which wasn't a problem the second time so it was my first really fun Con. As for 2012, it was the first Con I got to spend with my beloved, now fiancee, as well as my first meeting in RL with her, so those facts al…

  5. Started by Basel Gill,

Hi everyone! It's time for the annual Brown Ajah Travel Event! In this thread, everyone is invited to share their remembrances of vacations past. Have any funny or touching stories of something that happened to you on vacation? Or just some really nerve-wracking experience that you will never forget? I'd like to start off with an experience I had in Washington, DC about 7 years ago. I was there for a weekend gathering of online friends. Some of us had met before, and some were new to meeting in real life. On Saturday evening after everyone had dinner together, a bunch of us decided to do a driving tour of the monuments at night. We had fun, but as we were making our w…

  6. Cedric and Crookshanks walk out onto the pitch. Cedric zaps Crookshanks with a spell. "Sonorus!" He then turns his wand onto himself. "Sonorus!" "Right! Welcome to the Quidditch Match! Our match is Gryffindor versus Hufflepuff!" He pauses to let the fans cheer. "The illustrious Mr. Crookshanks and I will be your referees! I will direct the goings on of the Chasers and the Keepers while Crookshanks will direct the Beaters! "As for your teams, here they are!!" Both teams fly out onto the pitch, circling a few times. Gryffindor: Seeker - Mish Chaser - Kronos Chaser - Bridmorgan Chaser - Luciena Beater - Masema Beater - blank Keeper…

  7. Cedric runs at an easy pace into the Great Hall, then waves at everyone. "Good evening, everyone! This thread is where you can sort yourself into one of the Hogwarts Houses, if you haven't already. Just consult the Sorting Hat!" "And of course by Sorting Hat, I mean take a quiz with this survey. here! Sometimes the survey will ask you for specific things about the Houses, but don't worry, I have that information for you here!" Cedric waves his wand and pictures of the House seals appear with some information about them. Gryffindors are known for their bravery and willingness to take chances. Their colors are red and gold, their mascot the lio…

  8. Started by blank,

Welcome one and all to the utterly fantabulous Brown Ajah Travel Week! We have a lot of exciting things in store for you over the course of our Randland Week long Travel event but this particular thread focuses on something that I adore talking about. I want to know why we should/shouldn't visit your hometowns. So jump in, tell us where you live and get discussing with one another, I'll be back in a bit to tell you aaaaaall about my hometown of Glasgow, Scotland

  9. *Please read this in a Snape stylee - preferably without moving your jaw or lips* Hmmmmmmmmm, so you want to join my Potion Class do you? You look a little muggle-like to me, but as you are here I will see exactly what you are capable of. You should know however, I do not expect many of you to succeed. Only those with true talent can understand the complexities of Potion Making. Very well, in this Class you will collect and assemble your Potion's Ingredients. You will then test your potion upon yourself and deal with the effects. If you wish to negate the effects at any time, you may request the antidote ... the antidote is not guaranteed however. Should you wish to co…

  10. Cedric walks into the classroom, dressed in his school robes. "Good evening, everyone! Professor McGonnagal asked me to fill in for her tonight, and I'm pretty busy with the Sorting Ceremony and the Quidditch match too, but I think I can handle it! ...I hope." He clears his throat and continues on. "And I wanted to address something before we move on...I know there have been some rumors going around about me...something about me looking like a vampire someone saw once." "Weird, weird rumors. No clue how they got started. But I'm here to tell you they're untrue! I am not, nor would I ever endeavor to be a vampire. But, let's get back to class!" H…

  13. Welcome to Alphabetty Wand Duelling Competition everyone! I’m Miss Luci, and you can call me Miss Luci. I will be heading this competition. This is a competition on how many spells you can come up with starting with letters of the alphabet. E.g the person starting the spell with A means that the next one has to come up with a spell starting with B to counter the previous person’s spell and then cast a spell of their own, and so on and so forth. This will continue from A-Z and then restart to A if we are still at it! Points awarded to the person with the most originality in spell casting, as well as their explanation/description on how the spells af…

  14. Hello, all! We're trying a new thing this year: Quidditch! This will be set up as a trivia game. We'll have two full Quidditch teams: Hufflepuff and Gryffindor (in honor of your two mods). Here's how things will work: One of your referees will post questions to chasers and keepers, while the other will ask questions for beaters to answer. Whoever answers the question first will have a successful move. Every now and then, either mod will ask a question for the seekers to answer. These questions will be very difficult. It is the snitch, after all. To sign-up, just post here. If you have a preferred team and position, please say so! These a…

  15. Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you ... there is a Mafia Sign up Thread in the White Tower. It's the only Game that plays here all year and it's always a bit special - not least because it's linked to our excellent Harry Potter Week, that is due to start on the 28th. Hopefully this game will start then too - as long as we get enough players. We need 17 please ... both new and more experienced players are welcome. If you are very new, or a first timer, I can probably find you a Mentor to help you with the general ins and outs of the Game - but this is the White Tower, and we do Mafia nice and friendly - so we won't bite You have to use your wits and logic and figure out…

  20. Welcome everybody to the Reverse Caption Contest! It's very easy, I post a caption and you find some funny pictures to go with it! Simples! So, lets get those imaginative juices flowing, and those pictures coming, your first caption is: 'The Ajah and Disc Heads go for a night on the town'

  21. *Enters dragging a giant sack* Greetings to our Aes Sedai and Der'Manshimas! Just pop in here and receive a token of our affection and appreciation!

  22. So appreciation week gives the aspies and the full grown members the chance to celebrate how awesome the Aes Sedai and Der from the past year truly are. However as this is aspie run and they have a much closer relationship with two of the senior members, it was decided that the Mistress at Arms and the Mistress of Novices needed a shiny thread all for themselves. This is to celebrate the hard word of Heart and Tynaal over the past year. We fully encourage any member (especially those who were aspies under their fine judgement) to come and say thanks!

  23. WELCOME TO THE WHITE TOWER'S HALL OF FAME! This week we are celebrating all of our senior members. This thread is for all of those senior members who do the work that keeps this SG running smoothly, who help new member find their way around... and who make this place a home. Thank you all for all you do!

  24. Welcome to Appreciation Week in the White Tower! I have taken the liberty of, um, borrowing... some of the Senior Members' avatars so we can play a bit of a game. I'm sure most of you have heard of Guess Who before, and here I have adapted it slightly so we can all play Here's how it's (hopefully) gonna go: 1. I will randomly select one avatar from the board below. 2. You guys can all ask yes/no questions about the appearance of the avatar to try and narrow down who it could be. 3. Please don't ask more than one question each until I've had chance to answer (but if you ask a question and then decide you want to guess that's totally fine). 4. As soon as you have an idea …

  25. Welcome to the Gray Ajah's Midsummer Festival! Some of the best parts of summer are hanging out with friends, with good food, good music, and just having a good time. So grab a bite to eat! And drink, bar is around the other side for those of you old enough. Later, we can all go for a swim! Anyone refusing to have fun will be unceremoniously thrown into the pool and pounced upon. So let's all have fun here. Everyone has their favorite parts of summer, and favorite summer memories. What are some of yours? Everyone also has their token summer theme song. This one just represents summer to me. Feel free to share…

I'm going to be posting some crafty, summery ideas to keep you occupied, and hopefully be a bit inspired. Feel free to post your ideas and thoughts here to!
