I am currently putting together a campaing using the A Game of Thrones d20 RPG system (I'm setting it several months before the outbreak of the Blackfyre Rebellion). All of the characters have an ECL (effective character level) of 8-10 for a "high-powered" game (going with a Noble House Game with a splash of Band of Heroes and Game of Thrones style). Since all the characters are of higher levels I am requiring the players to write an extensive (4-10 pages) background story which not only tells their past, but also explains who they are personally, why they are that way, and to explain everything on their character sheet. This is a habit I myself got into back when I u…

Aslan walked around in the streets looking for the inn, it was but a couple days since he had arived, how and why was still a blur for him even with what he had been told. Finaly he spoted the inn and set a pace for it, he normaly wouldnt drink much early in the day, but his head already hurt from all the thinking and he needed to relax. Opening the door he went in, paying for a glass of wine he found himself a corner table, he wasnt sure of this at all. There where others in the inn as well, the males probably could channel as he, or so they said, he thougth of all he had heard. Puting down the glass he rubed his forehead, there was so much info, and he wasnt su…

It was a hot day. It was always hot in the southlands, though, this could be considered a mild day. Alexis was on her way to the library, and as always was walking with her eyes on the ground and never paying attention to what was around her. Her arms were crossed tightly across her chest, in them, were two, very thick books. For the moment, she was lost in her mind, thinking about how badly her Saidar class had just gone. It always went bad, never good. They always wanted her to think of a flower and light, but everytime she had closed her eyes, all she could see were those big hands on her shoulders; hurting her, ripping her dress...and she could almost feel tho…

Liara looked around her room it was a mess and dust coated everything but the desk which she had just recently cleaned and reorganized. Her books that she had once spent so much care stacking and organizing now lay in disarray across the floor. The few stacks of books had managed not to fall over looked like they might any moment. The bed itself was also almost complete covered with books, the only gap being the space she had made for herself the night before. She thought to herself the sheets would definitely need to be changed and the comforter aired out. The only piece of furniture in the room that did not have books on it was her favorite chair with its plush bro…

Mirana entered the library. She had a smile on her face. The last days had been quite hard. Mostly with lessons, but she had also been hit by a stroke of home sickness. Tear... Taking a few steps into the greay library, she looked around for new possible shelves, filled with interesting books, about whatever in the whole world. This library really had it all. She came into a path of books about geography, and found a mass of books only about Tear. So she grabbed two of them, one called Nina Caprimons world adventures: Tear, and the other Stone of Tear. She chose a table, close to the geography shelves. Before she sat down, she remembred she had been sitting by th…

The day was still young when Aramina sur Dulciena made her way into the White Tower. Her morning had been enjoyable, a day away from her usual politics and preparations. Her eyes and ears reports were sitting on her desk waiting for her to review and pass on as she saw fit, but she was in no hurry. She'd picked up some items in the city today. A couple new dresses were being delivered later in the day and she had a bag with some exquisite jewelry she had found. Other small items she had needed were taken care of and her eyes and ears in the city had been visited and re-affirmed. As she walked through the petitioner's area she noticed a young girl looking about.…

ooc: This is occuring a bit later in Seia's timeline. Post-Turning & post-retirement. So I can play out their relationship. Part One IC: Seiaman laid the broom against the wall - her eyes sweeping across the common room. The Rose's Thorn grew faster than anticipated - she had just bought the place not more than a fortnight ago and the only thing left to do was to open the doors. It had seemed to be too good to be true that on the day of her retirement from the Tower Guards - the former Inn had closed its doors and was put up for sale. Whatever the reason, Seiaman didn't inquire but she had used up half of her life savings to purchase the site. For now, it was…

Christine stumbled into the Green Ajah quarters, holding onto the wall. Her stomach hurt as she felt her hangover approaching. Her head ached, but it was ok. Light! She had thought that Tower Guards were amazing in bed… he was just a regular foot soldier accompanying a merchant… she hadn’t had anything like that in a while. Her heart was still racing. The hallways were dark, and Christine called on the power, trying to light up the hallway a little, but it wasn’t smart to Channel Under the Influence. The whole hallway seemed to be lit up with fire, and she laughed. Light, she felt out of it. Stumbling past the Captain General’s doorway, she made a rude gest…

OOC: For Syara, Saline and Rossa. :D The first day of a new month. It meant fresh starts, new experiences, many unexplored possibilities. And today, it meant a new garden. Lying in her bed, Vera smiled. She felt strangely…determined as if what she wished to do she would, very surefooted and honestly, unlike herself. And yet, she was enjoying the sensation. For a few moments she continued to lie in the cot, letting pale rays of light settle contentedly on her face as she herself continued to ponder and imagine. Wistful things she pictured. Elaborate things she thought of. They were not impossible though, she found herself thinking as she sprang up. Immediately she mo…

It was a typical Autumn day in Tar Valon, the sky was over cast but the sun peaked through a gap in the clouds. The air held a slight chill and Evaida drew her banded cloak around her to keep the out occasional cold breeze. She stood on the steps of the White Tower, she hadn't been there long and she did not expect to be their much longer. The novices she commandeered were probably just as excited to get out of the Tower as she was. As if they had read her mind, two girls in novice whites appeared at her side. “We best be on our way if we are to get everything with a few detours†she smiled slyly, clutching the list a Gray Sister had given her earlier in one hand and t…

Alexis stood outside of a large door and sighed loudly. She felt like a fool just standing there, staring at the door and thought that she really should knock on it at some point, but she couldn't bring herself to it. She knew that as soon as she stepped through that doorway, there was no going back home. She lowered her gaze to the floor and hugged her arms more tightly around herself as she reflected on the events of the last couple weeks; the laundry service that she worked for with her sisters, that night in the alley in the city, the Aes Sedai. She blushed when she remembered biting the woman's Warder. Her face only reddened more when she thought about one of he…

Liitha was happy to be back from the bligth as she rode through the grove having wisited that special place she felt so conected to her mother at. The mare for once seemed totaly calm, it must be the place where they where at, it was so peacefull here. Back in the yard she took the sadle of the horse and brushed her down with some straw before puting her into the stable again. Walking up to her room in her own thougths she descided she would hit the city for dinner this evening. Maybe she would meet some old mintees, the last one she had was before going to the bligth, a boy Kopair, she hoped he had done okey. Liitha wrung of her clothes and washed the sweat off b…

Summary Faile fell asleep in the library and woke up past curfew, and hurried out as fast as she could. Tiegan couldn't sleep, got dressed, and went for a walk. And Aithne lost track of time while hiding from an Accepted. The three girls ran into each other in the hallway, scaring each other to death by each of them mistaking one (or in Tiegan's case, more than one) of them for Aes Sedai or Accepted. Tiegan decided it'd be safer outside where there wasn't an echo, so they all went for the gardens. Dorian couldn't sleep either and went for a walk. Ended up in same gardens as the three novices. Danian, Dorian's brother, soon woke and noticed his blind brother w…

OOC: Hope this is good enough for a start, I don't really have a description of your character, but I've been searching the boards for one. Anyway, no need to PM me when you reply to the thread, I'm going to set DM to track it for me. Thanks for taking me on! :D Feeling the slow sting from the only days-old cut on his leg, Vay walked through the gates of Tar Valon. The Tower itself, looming over the rest of the island city, seemed to promise him safe haven and a place to become something as grand and known as the Tower itself. Tar Valon was bustling with people about their day, and the occasional bump of a passerby against his leg shot agony to his face. A good handfu…

She was almost in a fog, as she worked mechanically to pack. This was all that was left to be done. Serena had been informed, a Trainee and Novice sent out to gather supplies and now she left again. Light but she was all alone. Hurriedly, she tried to suppress her emotions and return to packing but she simply could not. Sitting down on her bed, she wrapped her arms around her knees, curling into a ball. For the thousandth time since that fateful day in the Blight, tears ran hot down her face. The tears were silent as her voice was so hoarse it was painful to make noise. She was such a wreak. How could she call herself Aes Sedai? If only Carise were here to ta…

As she was handed the folded parchment, Ellinielle could scarcely keep her excitement down, now. She was having trouble storing all the Aes Sedai was instructing her to do in her head, word for word. To think, by the end of the day she would be a White Tower novice! “…May the Light keep you and bless you.†When the woman finished speaking, Ellinielle watched her walk out of the shop without another word. Well that was awfully abrupt. No matter, though. She would follow her instructions and get to the White Tower as soon as possible. No time to lose! She quickly turned around and walked through a wooden door leading to her room. She didn’t feel like wasting …

Jaydena stepped from the office of the Captain General and wished for one minute that it had been her own office she had been leaving. Walking steadily she approached the very end of the Green Ajah Quarters. She opened the door to one of the recruit rooms and motioned for the recruits inside who were busy moving Aramina's things from her rooms in the Accepted's quarters to leave the room. They left with sympathic looks to Aramina and Jaydena smiled quickly at the young ladies. They were all doing very well in their tests to become a Green Sister. She walked all the way into the room and shut the door behind the newest recruit. Turning to the girl she noticed a set of glov…

Kade felt in awe of everything that had happened in the last few hours. Had he known what was to take place that very afternoon he was sure he would have stayed home? But could that have prevented it? Could that only have postponed the impossible? The men in the Black coats, the Ashaman, he could not avoid mentioning that word anymore. They gave him time to pack his belongings. There was not much. Kade only stuffed some spare clothes, most needed mending terribly, Meg had always done the mending of his clothes, but now that the woman he once called mother was gone, he had been forced to attempt her work by himself. Failing miserably in the task. The small bag soon contain…

Orion thanked the boy and closed his hand over the folded note in his hand. He had long since lost his stubborness and gone to other to write out legible notes and letters. He could write still but it was time consuming and never really came out right in the end. It was faster to just ask a trainee to do it for him. Orion made the familier trek towards the small clearing where he met Mors for his lessons, a lathe in one hand and the folded note in his other. He didn't have much time to wait, the soft footsteps making his head turn slightly. Before Mors could say anything Orion held out his hand with the note. "Before we start I have a task for you. This is for a M…

jasonr Danian was walking with his hand held in Faile's. He remembered the past two days... After they had met, Danian went to bed, but could not get any sleep. His heart was pounding and his mind was racing. He craved more, Danian wanted to know everything about her, he wanted to know her past and how she was feeling. These feelings exited and scared Danian. He had never felt this way before. Of course, there was the attraction, and the occasional kiss... very occasional, but never had he felt this way about a girl before. Light, her eyes made him go mad with wonder and her face, so perfect to his eyes, made Danian's head spin. What was this feeling that Da…

One Last Stand: The Fine Art of Falling Apart I'm burning bridges for the last time I'm breaking habits for the first time I saw my future today, it said I'm going away And I still haven't sung the last line On my way down... ~ Demon Hunter, “Not ready to die†In her dreams, she was running. The running was good, and she was at peace. She wasn't running for her life; she was running because she wanted to, because it felt good. The staccato rhythm of her feet hitting the ground, the adrenaline, sweat beading on her skin... and companionship. It all felt good and peaceful because she wasn't alone. In her dreams, the sunrise was painting a still sle…

The sun light was just dipping in the sky as Cairma strolled, no.. walked briskly in search of the one figure that would ease her mind. She felt too over loaded with what was happening around her that she was not yet ready to bunker down for the night knowing that she had a new charge under her wing that she had never expected. Let alone other things!! She REALLY needed to clear her mind, and if there was anyone that was a good listener, it was Daemon. Always a good listener, she desperately hoped that she could catch him away from his own training. Daemon was, as she started to notice, the erpetual mentor. He trained and trained others, challenging those around him…
