Just finished the SOIAF and started with WOT last week. I'm looking for a pronunciation online pronunciation guide too. Let me know. You can reach me out on youtube too: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgHX3N7Td2VA0gmuR2GHmVw

  6. Started by Sheep Swallop,

So it's 1991. I'm all of 18 (17 at the time ?) and had just met and fallen head-over-heels for a wonderful lady named Joyce...who happened to be with someone else. Sigh. My pathetic efforts to steal her away dragged on for a year. No success. What did I get from our relationship, though? She lent me a copy of "The Eye of the World." While reading it I dropped the book, just grabbing the cover and? Tore it almost all the way through. So I went to Waldenbooks (yes, kids. There were these places that SOLD BOOKS in malls!! Really. Grampy isn't lying!) and replaced that one and saw that "The Great Hunt" and "The Dragon Reborn" were available. From there I was hooked for life. …

  7. Started by Meli,

Hi I'm new, I read about 8 or 9 of the books years ago but never finished them. I recently found out they were making a WoT tv series and have spend the last 3 months reading the whole 14 books....and I'm hooked again! Lol...

  8. Started by Cazzly,

Hi all! I've been reading WoT since the mid 90s and have been lurking around the dragonmount site sporadically since I first discovered it in the 2000s. I'm just beginning my 3rd complete reread of the series and on a whim decided to stop being the creepy girl in the corner and come into the light.

Hello. I'm a new member of this forum. It has been years since I read a WoT book, but I am thinking of starting over and finishing the entire series. Robert Jordan was still alive when I stopped around book 5 or 6. The WoT world is definitely an interesting one and I was sad to hear of Jordan's premature death, particularly as his posts gave some room for optimism that his treatment would allow him to beat the odds. He didn't, unfortunately. What exactly am I getting into starting over and on a 14 volume series? Would most of you do it all again? I am not afraid of spoilers as I read the final summation somewhere after Sanderson finished the series…

  14. Started by Butt punch,

I am an extremely fresh newbie to wot. I picked up maybe 2 weeks ago. I’ve had most of the books for years and was about to get rid of them until I started reading Terry Brooks Shannara series. Which I love (I’m a fan of camp - no shame) and I just decided what the heck; why not read wot - I lived through Terry’s camp so I can live through Robert’s camp too. And then I turned to the first page and I have not looked back. I swear I have not been this hooked on a book series in years. It’s amazing and I’m so glad that I didn’t get rid of this series! Everytime I finish a book I’m so disappointed that it ended. It’s so nice to read a book series where the author…

  15. Hi everyone, I'm new to these forums (obviously). I heard about the wheel of time because I'm a huge Brandon Sanderson fan, and I hear that he finished the series. I've read up to book 8, and I've been thoroughly impressed by Robert Jordans work. My favorite characater so far is Mat, because, well, Mat. And I'm really interested in the RP section...

  16. Started by Lord English,

Hi all. I only just found this place (obviously) but I've been reading the books for about 13 years now. I've read books 1-12 three times each, 13 twice and only once for the final book. My favourite male character is a toss-up between Mat & Lan, and my favourite female character is Suian (probably spellt incorrectly but it has been awhile). My least favourite male character is Masema. The guy is just too off the rails for me. My least favourite female character is between Egwene and Elaide (that is more than likely the wrong spelling - it's the Aes Sedai who become Amrylin after been beside Queen Morgase). Egwene becomes a colossal bitch towards her childhood friends…

Hey Everyone, I'm Kelvin! I started reading the series in 2005. My hobbies other than reading are video games, tabletop RPGs and board games, and nerdy tv shows such as Supernatural and Dr Who.

  19. Started by Lethira,

Hi There, I've lurked a little bit and have finally taken the plunge and created an account. I'm a massive fan of Robert Jordan (obviously) and Brandon Sanderson. I spend most of my time reading fantasy -always interested in recommendations. Wheel of Time occupies the number one spot on my favourites, I'm a particular fan of the Aes Sedai. When I don't have my nose in a book, I enjoy martial arts, weight lifting, long walks in the country and travel.

  20. Started by Kirsti,

Hello everyone! I'm new here & thought it best to introduce myself. I started reading the series in 1997 - long time to wait before dipping my toes into the online community, I know!- as a teenager. With interest in the series sure to only increase in the imminent future, I thought now was the perfect time to join the online life. My favourite Forsaken are Moghedien & Ishamael. Favourite Aes Sedai are Moiraine & Nynaeve. Favourite non- Channelers are Mat and Min. Looking forward to discussing this phenomenal series with all of you.

Hello all, Just finished the series 5 minutes ago and the first thing I did was get an account on this forum. I started it a long time ago...maybe a decade and have been aware of this forum for probably that long. I've wanted to make an account since them but didn't want to run into spoilers (impossible, I know). So many thoughts going through my head right now and there is a sadness. Like a loss but also a sense of accomplishment (lol). Overall, I loved the series and am sad that it had to end. I yearn for more. Looking to delve deep into theories and other sort of nerdy stuff lol

Hi, I came from 17th shard. I read Brandon Sanderson, and in my quest to read all his books, I'm reading Wheel of Time. Hi! Also, does this place have a roleplay section?

  23. Started by hdn1217,

Hi, I read this series when it first came out and now I am reading it again. Actually, I am both listing to the audiobooks and reading it. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get my hands on a written or audible copy of all the songs in the series. I particularly love the Pub songs and would like to try a few of them myself. As I am only on Book two, I will start bookmarking them going forward and then write them out but I would think someone has already done this. All I could find when searched was a list of songs from the game based on the book and I don't think they are the same. Happy Reading ? Howard

Hello everyone, my name is Charles!I am from a small island group in the South Pacific called Fiji (Bula is how we say hello!) I have wanted for years to read this series. For years I have been delaying the reading of this series- books shops here did not sell all the books. It wasn't until the beginning of September 2018 that I got serious and began reading via kindle and audible EOTW. 6 weeks, several sleepless nights and a business trip to London found me completing the series. What an adventure. I marvel at the world that the late Mr. Jordon and (later) Sanderson made. It was a very enjoyable and unforgettable period of my life, reading and listening to t…

  26. Greetings from Washington state! Having majored in the development of modern literature, and receiving a Master's in Divinity, only now - at 39 - do I begin my first journey through the Wheel of Time. Very satisfying experiences in a world that seems at once immediate and wide, mysterious and familiar. A fan of everyone from 'high-brow' literature such as Borges and Sebald to easy reading sci-fi like John Christopher's Sword of the Spirits, I'm delighted to return home from a stressful day housing the homeless and raising two children and curl up with a new universe, the bright world of Robert Jordan. Huge fan of the old school artwork on these covers, attenti…

  27. Started by Carson Daily,

Hi my name is Carson I crushed the series in 7 weeks I was listening while working my office job. I really love the world of the wheel of time. It was hard for me to get into the eye of the world. The prologue sets up a lot so early that it threw me off. I committed though and by the eye of the world I was hooked. The first four books are my favorite. I like Perrin better than Mat. Rand is my favorite character. Talamanes is my favorite minor character. I like the way Rand thought of Min best, but we don’t get a lot of conversations just the two of them. Asmodean should’ve lived! Gawyn…

Hi Dragonmount! I'm Rachel and after a couple years of "braid-tugging", I created an account today. I was introduced to the series three years ago and I fell in love right away. Zipped right through the books. I'm on my second rereading (this time via Audible) and nearly finished. I am thrilled to connect with other people that are passionate about the story and characters. I am tempted to list a favorite character but, it's really hard to say when I think about it. I'll get back to that some other time. Water and Shade!

Hello, Just call me Kevala. I'm new here though I've finished reading Wheel of Time since 2016. One of my favorite fantasy books. Anyway, aside from making friends with people who also have interest in the book, my intention is also to research the contents of the book to its full extent. Truth be told, I really loved the book that I don't want it to end. Thus, I want to write a fanfiction based on the Wheel of Time series. However, before I do that, I want to see all the contents of the book in detail. And I hope to find them here. If I do finish writing the book, I will post it in this forum first before anywhere else. I can also share the notes I already ha…
