Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by QWee,

Hello world! Name's Marcus, long time fan but first time poster! I first started my WoT adventure back in the summer of 2011 as an audiobook experience (first time I listened to a book instead of reading). Initially, I only listened to the books as I was working out/jogging. Listening as I commuted to school wasn't much of an option as I only lived 5 mins away. Needless to say, it took me quite a while to work my way through the books. I finished the final book the 1st of December 2013 - My listeningen pace increased significantly around the 8th book as I figured I didn't have to jog while listening. The final book took me around a week - I just co…

I like wheel of time, Mat is best character, The Black Tower sounds like a great spot to live and Androl is basically a god Also I like 85% of my personality is memes. Like this one: "This land is your land, This land is Seanchan, From Malkieri Towers to Tremalking Island From Saldea rivers to Tairen Valleys, This land is made for king Hawkwing."

Hello everyone! I'm happy to see a place where I can finally geek out over WoT I started reading the series the summer after I graduated high school. Eye of the World was a tough read for me but once I started reading The Great Hunt I was hooked. I've read the entire series two times now and I am on my third reading of a few of the books. I hope to meet some new people here while I wait for my irl friends to start reading the books (it'll happen eventually). Discussing books and literature is one of my favorite things to do and I look forward to many great discussions!

Hello, I’m Chris! I’m new to the forum and WoT in general. I was never a huge hardcore fantasy reader, except maybe Lord of the Rings and Kingkiller Chronicles, but Wheel of Time seemed to always catch my eye. The sheer size of the series always put me off, but I finally decided to jump right in and I bought the first couple of audiobooks! I’m about two thirds through the first book, and I’m LOVING it. I’m kind of kicking myself a bit for waiting so long to jump in, but c’est la vie. Are there any forums for new readers to discuss? I don’t mind looking if I’m pointed in the right direction, I just don’t want to poke too far and spoi…

Hi everyone, I just finished book 1. Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed it, although I must say I feel a bit overwhelmed regarding the history! I'm sure it will fall into place as I continue reading. Glad to be here!

New here just registered, but been checking out the site for awhile I'm a huge Fantasy and Scifi and comic book fan like WoT, Star Wars, Star Trek Warhammer 40K, The novels in the world of Shannara I started reading WoT kind of late back in college, I enjoyed WoT but I stopped reading after book nine for a few years and started to re-read the books I just finished the 9th book and working on the 10th book. My favorite character's of the series is Rand who was forced into the spot light, and his three girlfriends.

Hello! Just finished aMoL and needed to come on here for the first time. Got alot of questions that I hope people can help answer. It's took 13 years and 1 restart to get through the series but so glad I did it. Easily the best thing I've had the privilege of reading. Im looking forward to looking around here. Thanks for reading !

  13. So, I'm not at all brand new to the wheel of time, I've read all books except the last one, I'm waiting for that one to come avalible to me, but I found this place and decided this would be a great place for my knowledge, but I have a few questions, one of them being, can I join more then one group? Like for an example, Aes Sedai and Ogiers? Thanks if you'll answer! Also if you can't tell, I'm named after Slayer of the wolves.

  14. Started by Terra,

pokes head into room and grins mischievously... Hi, I'm Terra and I read this series a long time ago and I even used to rp as an Aes Sedai. I got to talking to some friends recently about the series and got a little nostalgic and thought I would check around for some WoT sites and this one came up. I'm around, exploring the forums and fairly interested in the rp aspect of the place, though I plan on barging in on the social groups as well. So, hello Randlandians! Oh, and I might have friends follow me here. They're nice people, and they would LOVE it if you chucked water balloons at them when/if they come to say hi. I'll just leave these right h…

I'm Justin, and it's exciting to find a community of Wheel of Time folks! I've been rereading the series lately, and have fallen headlong into Randland once more. Looking forward to chatting with everyone! :)

  16. Hello everyone! Brand spanking newb here in Dragonmount, but as the title suggests, not so new in the Wheel of Time world. I actually read the first.....five or six books before real life grabbed me by the ass and hauled me off. But recently, a VERY good friend of mine got me so worked up in the Wheel of Time series that I decided to give Jordan's greatest works another try, and so....long story short, here I am. Things are coming back slowly but surely, with the occasional slap in the back of the head as I get di'covale and .....*gets slapped in the head again* whatever mixed up. I am bringing a friend, said friend who gives me the occasional slap in the back of th…

New to DM, but love the WoT Series! Got the first book as a gift from my dad when I was 12, and have gone on to read as many of the books as I can find at least 3 times now. XD I'm a little enthusiastic, if you can't tell. Anyhoo, I'm a tabletop gamer, and I'm looking for some similarly devoted fans of games and this series to help me with some mechanic making for a homebrew adaptation of this world for the ShadowRun game series. If you're interested in helping (particularly in helping me build the magic, and economic systems), feel free to say hi! Or, if you have a recommendation for which forum to post questions in, please recommend awa…

Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum and The Wheel of Time. Here's a little bit about me... I love playing both piano and guitar. Reading is my way of escaping reality and anything I'm currently going through, (which is a lot right now.. having surgery soon.) I was wondering if it matters to first read New Spring before The Eye of the World? I'm glad to have found this site! Thanks for having me!!

  22. Started by Jon.R,

Hey all just wanted to say Hi :) I just started reading Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time. I was browsing the shelves of my local bookstore one day, when I came across The Eye of the World, and thought I give it a go. I'm ever so glad I did. I recently finished reading the first instalment. I then gave myself an early Christmas present & bought the entire epic series in hardcover. I even bought the sublime Barnes & Noble leather bound edition of The Eye of the World, which is absolutely stunning, and which I highly recommend. I'm currently reading The Great Hunt, and loving it. I find The Wheel of Time to be an epic fantasy unlike any other the characters are…

Started by Guest Just Rand, not that Rand,

Hey there everyone! I'm just now somewhat stepping into the community, after over a decade of self-imposed seclusion, until I finished the series. My dad named me for Rand, and I finished the series for the first time during that special eclipse we had back in August! Was a nice way to close out the series that had, and continues to have, such a strange (but welcome) impact on my life. I'm just short of my 21st nameday yet, so I suppose I have a little while to fulfill any prophecies. Are there any other WoT-named people out there? Sometimes I wonder if I'm among the older ones, and I've yet to actually meet one. Anyways, I really look forward to j…

Has anyone read this series? I was considering my next fantasy series to begin once I complete WoT and considering Sanderson wrapped up WoT, I figured I would give this series a try.

Hello! I'm new around these parts, which probably isn't much of a surprise... I picked up the first book as a kid over two decades ago and fell in love pretty quickly. Since then I've read the series... more times than I care to admit. hehe I'm happy to be here, looking forward to finding my way around. (For those on tarvalon.net, I'm Elanda over there)

  26. I was part of the site years ago using the name Maat Ronin (not sure if that account still exists here and can't remember the login info even if it does). I mainly came back because Barnes and Noble released a leatherbound edition of Eye of the World and I figured that if anybody else out there thought that's a cool idea and might want Tor Books to publish more like that, it's going to be this group. Lol

Hola. Old time member peaking into the new boards. (Old as in pre-ezboard, white boards member). I once was pretty active in the Community (Green) and the Roleplay (WT..) I've poked in from time to time, but the new boards and gofundme has me poking about to see what's new, what's changed. Sometimes even 9 years later that WoT RP itch comes to pass. Anyway, Hi! I like to write, knit, and learning to paint. I've gotten old, married and now have two kids. :) *hides her aspiring sword behind her Accepted dress*

  28. Hello ! Im new to Dragonmount and excited to research all of the varied opinions the fantastic fans of this series have to offer. Over a year ago I had to spend a month in hospital and I read Tolkiens Lord of the Rings while bedbound . Following this, I swore that I would start and finish the WoT series in a year!. Although I took a few breaks here and there to read some non-fictional works (especially around book 10) I was always excited to gallop back into Jordans exciting creation. Although some details irritated me, my love of the story and characters always made up for it and I can honestly say I had a few tears in my eyes upon the curtain call.…

  29. Started by Zeustav,

Hi everyone! Took me long enough, but I finally stumbled onto Dragonmount! It'll be nice to finally have people to discuss the series with... I am currently about 200 pages into Crossroads of Twilight. I sped through Eye of the World through The Fires of Heaven in about six months before stalling out halfway through Lord of Chaos and leaving the series for three years. I think I was scared of the "slump". The books sat on my shelf for all that time collecting dust until, in September, I made a spreadsheet of "books I own and have yet to read" and decided to knock WoT off of the massive "to read" pile I had sitting around. Four months later, I've re…

Long time listener, first time caller. Finished aMoL recently and have been missing these stories and characters ever since. The only thing I don't miss is the embarrassment of reading those extremely cheesy romance looking paperbacks in public! Looks like there's lots to read and discuss here, so off I go.
