Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by WellKristOff,

Hello, I have recently discovered the Wheel of Time series and am currently reading them for the first time. I am almost finished the 5th book. I am very impressed by the series, the characters are excellent, as is their individual progression through the main story along with their personal story arcs. I am very much looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I have always been a fan of fantasy. David Gemmell's Drenai series is still my all time personal favourite, though Wheel of Time I think has a much deeper storyline compared to the Drenai series which is more focused on individual characters. Well that's my opinion anyway. I look forward to bro…

Hi all, long time creeper, first time poster... I started reading the series around the time The Path of Daggers came out. I loved it despite what I now realize was very bad ADHD that made me skip over much of the description and therefore the intrigue. So yeah, I had some trouble from about A Crown of Swords on, and missed a lot of details in the previous books as well. I also guess I didn't have faith that every sentence was put in there for a reason... but now I do. I've re-read various books in the series multiple times and am currently re-reading from start to finish. I am on my absolute favourite in the series, The Shadow Rising. In fact, I just finish the best …

Hello everyone! I am a long time fan of the book series, and have even got my kids into the books. I use to be active on a website called the Portal Stone, but I guess that site disappeared. I would love to reconnect with anyone who used to hangout there, and hear the how/why it seems to have gone away.

Hello Everyone, My name is Zack, 21 years old, married and have one child! I am JUST starting the first book of the series, and I am totally hooked on it. Found out there was this community here (totally awesome by the way) and wanted to join up! I am a huge LOTR fan, and now a huge Wheel of Time fan! Bit about me, I am a medic in the Army, do a bunch of crazy stuff (not really, I am a normal person). Dreams of becoming a physician, but who knows how that will go. Just started the Wheel of Time series recently (started back in October 2016, but got caught up in some craziness). Currently living in Maryland, but on duty in Kentucky! Woohoo! So what better thing to do w…

    Started by Guest Sober,

Hey everyone, I read the first book years ago and never went further. I'm going to start over, and plow through. ☺

  8. Started by Laktoes,

Greetings! I am new, both to the series and this community. I think I ripped a hole in the space time continuum while reading EOTW. I just began book 2, and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I was glad to find Ba'alzamon was still rocking a severely burned appearance under his robes in the prologue :). I'm looking forward to what lies ahead in the series, as well as enjoying interacting with all of you along the way. I also would like to keep up with any further discussions into Sony's plans for a new TV series, so if anyone has any news on the NEW attempt...I would appreciate it. No need to re-hash the REE attempt, I think that has been discussed at plenty enough length.

Long time reader, first time poster. Nice to meet other people who enjoyed the books as much as I did. I look forward to meeting you!

  11. New to the forum. After a year or so listening to the audiobook version of WoT I have finally finished. Depression has officially set in because I no longer have anything else in the series to listen to. I guess I'll listen to New Spring since I haven't checked it out yet. I really enjoyed it. The ending was better than I thought it would be. I guess I was expecting something different but I'm happy with the way it turned out. I would have enjoyed a flash forward in the future to see how some of the characters and other events had panned out but I still really enjoyed the ending. Brandon Sanderson did a fantastic job of wrapping up the series. I was surprised at how…

    Started by Guest WatcherOfTheSeals,

Hello, Some time ago I used to lurk and read the forums but not really participate so I am going to dive in afresh and actually join in. I am a Navy wife, mom of three and write. I am from Texas but we are stationed in Arizona. I started reading the series in 2009 ( late to the party, I know ) and fell in love with the books. I was fairly ill at the time and escaping to the Westlands was a welcome relief. I have read and reread the books about 8-10 times now and have participated in only RP in the WoT world for the past few years. One of my youngest child's middle names is Caduane so it won't be shocking to hear that I am a Green Ajah girl. I have a great love for…

I'm not new, but it's been a few years, so I may as well be. I don't know how active I'll actually be, my life is hectic lately, but WOT has always been some of my favorite books, so here I am, again.

  14. Started by Faroresdragn,

Obviously new to the forums. Loved reading as a kid (im around 22 years old), but fell out of it for some reason. realized that was stupid around the middle of 2015 so I bought like 50 books from a used book site and started reading again. The Eye of the World was the best gem that I found, and ive been hooked on the books ever since. even with college and work, I could easily have finished the series by now, if I didnt have a bunch of other stuff to read inbetween those books (game of thrones, james bond, charles dickens, etc). As it is I have 4 books left to read in this series. definitely one of the more interesting series of books Ive ever read. Ive never rea…

  15. I am only on the second book in the series. Hello.

  16. Started by Killashandra,

Well, I have arrived! I have been a member of other wheel of time websites but never Dragonmount before. So here I am. I know you have all been waiting of course. :P I have been a fan of this series since I was 17 and now I am 31. I am on a re-read of the books. Actually, a listen as I am re-reading by audiobook. I adore audiobooks these days and have really enjoyed revisiting details and parts of the books I forgot. Revisiting this world at a different age then when I first started out with the books has been a fascinating experience. Some good and some slightly cringy. lol! I just wanted to give another community a try and maybe I will join the role…

Hey all!, I started reading Eye of The World maybe May last year after buying the first two, and stopped because I couldn't buy the next books up until September (and I hate not having the ability to complete a series plus exams) and I'm now on Fires of Heaven! I literally discovered this website today and was absolutely thrilled there were people who enjoyed them as much as I do. I'm in the part where Rand just left Rhuidean for reference, and just to be on the safe side, no spoilers please! So yeah. Don't know how to really end this so I'll leave it there.

Hey, new to Dragonmount. Was looking for a place to discuss the series and came across this. Does anyone else have a deciding lack of people in real life that have actually read the series?

Hello. I'm a huge WoT fan. Strangely, I started from Knife of Dreams, which I found in our School Library on a particularly boring day. I just completed the series, and I love Jordan's world so much I never wanna leave! I'm super excited to find a forum to discuss with other fans, as I've got so many questions. This will be awesome. Oh by the way, I'm 20 years old, Cameroonian and a medical student.

    Started by Guest Empiire,

Hi all, I'm currently on book 8 of the series and loving it. I was randomly searching the web for WoT content and came across this forum, so thought of join and see what opinions others had of the books. Anyway, hello and look forward to catch up with you on The Wheel of Time

  22. When I meet someone, I ask them what their favorite book is. Reading The Eye of the World came from this. Loved it. But as the series progressed, I stopped reading because I knew in my heart that Jordan was going to die before he finished. I didn't want to invest in an unfinished story. So now, college and kids out of the way, I'm re-reading and loving it.

  23. I have been lurking for years and years. Finally picked myself up and decided to join this community of like minded minds. I only read fantasy books. Some of my favourite fantasy characters is: Rand Al'thor, Lan Mandrogan, Anomander Rake, Kaladin Stormblessed. I have a website www.http://randalthor098.simplesite.com. Would really appreciate it if you could find the time to check it out. I am new at this Sincerely yours truly Real life Rand Al'thor aka Phuc Do

I'm Lady GreyFist! I've really been loving these books for the past year and a half. I've been getting my fix of Randland through the official Audio Renaissance audiobooks available through my Audible. The audiobooks are really expensive but I use my monthly credit to get them, hoho. This has given me a unique advantage with a troubling trade off. I know how some of these wonderfully crazy names are supposed to be pronounced! Yay! The downside, I have no idea how to spell any of them! I'm finally nearly done with ToM and have purchased AMoL. I initially tried to stay out of the fandom while I was still in the earlier books to avoid any spoilers. I'm also very excited to f…

Hi, just wanted to introduce myself. Didn't find this series until just a couple years ago, but it is hands down my favorite! I am super stoked about the planned TV series and will be eagerly awaiting further updates. I hope they get it right - and by that I mean keep it as close to possible as written by Mr. Jordan. Cheers, F

Hello all. I'm quite new to the forum scene, so please bear with me if I conduct any faux pas – even though I read the excellent "Read this first" post (thank you very much for clarifying on the shorthand!). My first go-through of the Wheel of Time series concluded a year ago almost to the day, and it captivated me from every aspect. I need not praise it here, for none of us would be here were it not so well-produced and well-written, but I will say that of particular interest to me was how well the world itself was crafted. Even with the unfortunate passing of Robert Jordan, I have found several theoretical questions – many of them no more than quirky "what if" sc…

  27. Hey all, this is my first venture into a social experience regarding the Wheel of Time series despite that I've been reading the the series for nearly a decade. My most recent re-read of the series was concluded yesterday and was my first experience with the audio format (I've fallen in love with Michael Kramer's voice!) Over the years I've found a great deal of edification from Robert Jordan's creation and have defined many of my own personal philosophies based on the characters and peoples of this universe. To compound that, I find it quite fun to attempt interpreting what Robert Jordan's personal philosophy was by sifting through the little tidbits in here. I'd lov…

Been reading since 2010, just found the website now. I swear I am smart. I like Mat, Asha'men, the Band of the Red Hand, not-crazy Rand, Tuon, and Aiel. I don't like Elaida. Or most Reds. Pevara is fine, but that's mostly because Androl is a good influence on her. Right, I also like Androl. he's awesome. I make bad jokes, when I think of'em. Like this: How many Blues does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Three. One to change it, one to confuse the issue. (My friend gave me that one.) I'll make up a few. What do you get when you cross a pack of mules with an Ogier Stedding Council? The Two River's Village council. What's the difference between a Child of L…

Good afternoon, everyone. New here. I'm moving and have been going through my books and lamenting how much more I USED TO read and how diffiicult it will be to move everything. Hoping to make some Jordan fan(s) happy by offering the one or two unusual Wheel of Time books I have in my collection.

  30. On the last book rn. I love theories and the like. That's about it.
