Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. This is the first time I do anything like this, and I'm very excited (don't let my sarcasm fool you). I really have no idea what I should say, so I think I'll start with 'hi.' And end with it apparently, since that covers about everything...

I made a post yesterday and I think someone deleted it? I posted a link about a wheel of time trailer that was aired on tv on feb 8th. I posted it in the media forum, which according to the description "discuss adaptions of The Wheel of Time in other media such as movies, TV shows, comics or games" seems to me some people might have been interested in seeing it.

*stumbles in the door with a very large bump on the top of his head the size of a watermelon (the seedless kind) and shuffles unsteadily through the room. In one hand he's holding a carseat with a bright pink blanket tucked around it, while in his other arm he's holding a blonde haired blue eyed three year old that is smarter than the man holding her. The reason for the shuffle is quickly found to be a 7 year old with her arms wraped around his leg while he stoically tried to march on, desperate to ignore the giggles coming from the floor behind himself.* Sorry for the leave of absence but when the reality stick strikes it doesn't joke around. I'mhere to escape! …

Hi Everyone! I too just finished the series and I have a big hole in my being that used to be filled with stories of the White Tower, the Dragon reborn and all of the things that come with the wheel of time! I want to join a community but I'm not sure where I fit in... I can't even determine what my favorite faction was in the books! I was a big fan of Matrim's but I also loved Perrin and the wolf dream. I was behind Rand all the way but I also loved the Aes Sadai! I don't think I'm an Aiel, and I probably wouldn't have cut it as a warder, hahaha! I really liked ole Lews Therin and felt like Rand should have been nicer to him! hahaha! Anyway, I'd love to hear …

Hi, I am a long-time fan of the books. I picked up the Eye of the World on a whim one day about twenty years ago because i thought the cover looked good. From the very beginning I was hooked. I read fantasy novels all the time and am quite picky about which authors I read and over the last twenty years I still have not found anything to rival this series. I have since read everything except the last three books 6 times. I was also quite pleased with how Brandon Sanderson did in finishing the series and wasn't disappointed in the least at the end. Though it was as if a huge chunk of my life was suddenly over and it was a good six months before I could pick up another…

Hello all! I started reading the series five years ago and just simply lost interest with it around book four. I've randomly picked up other books and scanned through them since then because the epic scope of the whole thing interests me. I purchased The Gathering Storm just the other day and thought that I may as well begin there, see if that one grips me, and if so, go back and read the others in the proper order. I'm hoping that the involvement with the additional author helps to somehow ramp up the story as a whole and ultimately make it worth the time it would take to get through another mammoth 700 pages or so that these books entail. Any thoughts on this? I'm inte…

Hi everyone - and DM admins. I'm Ivan, owner of Yindie Studios - a small independent game development studio. Nothing too impressive there so I wont go into details. Like many of you, I started to read the Wheel of Time many years ago - and more than a few years ago I got the idea to make a game based on it. To my dismay, I discovered Red eagle had the rights, so that put an end to that. I thought I'd wait for it to come out - looked forward to it - every few weeks looked for news of it. It never came. Of course, I found all the material that is out there on the idea and wasn't too impressed. I felt all attempts by others was disastrous, the kickstarter pro…

Hello. I just joined Dragonmount after reading the entire Wheel of Time series. I actually discovered them after I decided to read all the books that Brandon Sanderson wrote (I loved The Way of Kings). I don't really know what else to say, but I truly enjoyed the books. So, yeah... Hello again.

I'm a seventeen year old gamer, writer, and philosopher currently living in northern Indiana (U.S.A.). I have a pretty average, boring life, but I like to dream. I'm introverted, asocial (in real life, online I can chat you up and down the wall if I feel like it), and can easily get really awkward, but that doesn't stop me from trying to have fun. I learned of the Wheel of Time from a family I used to live near--all of the men in the family and some of the women adore the series. I researched the series some before ever being able to get ahold of any of the books, and fell in love with it, which is saying quite a lot for me. I used to read books galore but now I a…

I just finished A Memory of Light and it took me just under a year to read the series. I'm very glad I didn't walk away around book 6 or so as the story dragged but I think it finished strong and now I'm left with a void of where to go from here. What do I read next? Is there a forum area where you can discuss the entire series?

Hello, website. This is the FIFTH BLOODY ACCOUNT I've had to make for this to work. So, if you're reading this, I'd like you to know that I am a dedicated Wheel of Time fan. That being said, I'm not afraid to call out the books weaker points (Because Light knows they exist). I'm also a Lord Mat fan. Yes, I called him a bloody lord only because he dislikes it. I very much enjoy his story lines, much more than Rand and Perrin. I also think the series took a major dip around Crown of Swords, which it picked up from at the very end of Knife of Dreams. Sanderson finished it off beautifully, and the last three books are probably my favorite. It took my two years and eight …

I'm 19 year old guy from Finland. I'm currently at army(which ends 18th December.. Finally..) and after that I'll stay about month in Finland and then go to Australia to study sports science at Gold Coast. When my army service started I discovered that there were quite a lot free time at our service time which is when you can't use phone or any eletronic devices. Also when we had our first 3 day camp I discovered that my phone's battery ran out first evening. That's when I started to look something to read which would fill those times. That's when I ran into Jordan's books. I instantly liked it if nothing else, because of how long it is. I mean everyone knows that pain wh…

I only began reading WoT in May after the first 3 books were given as a birthday present but I managed to finish the last one a mere week ago (already picked up tEotW again <__<). I've never lived in such a wonderful world like the one in these books, so I decided the journey couldn't possibly end there, and here I am! Ready to start my own~ I lurked a bit, read the rules and everyone seems so nice. I hope to get into role playing, join a group. *nods* I do have a question about role playing~ If a role play begins in one area, since the areas seem to be their own boards, do the topics move wh…

Hello everyone, jmm here. WoT is up? Okay, no need to groan… I'll stop. I've been a Wheel of Time fan for a while now - started reading the books in high school after CoT was released, and am now on my 3rd read through. They're most definitely my favorite book series, and I love to pop on here at times to see what the collective fan base thinks about various theories, characters, and events; the commentary definitely can add a lot to the re-reading experience. Other than reading WoT, I enjoy playing Ultimate Frisbee, playing the card game Dominion, rooting for the Seahawks and the White Sox, playing French Horn (the grave might actually bar this horn's call, tho…

  29. Hey there. I have enjoyed the first couple Wheel of Time books, but pretenses aside, I'm really here to play some WEREWOLF / MAFIA. I found out about Dragonmount through the Champions Games over at the 2+2 Poker Forums, where I'm a mod with the screenname CPHoya. I'm also often on the Mafia All Stars twitchcast on Tuesday evenings. Anyway, hi! Looking forward to meeting people, playing some games, possibly discussing some books. Hope everyone had a nice holiday.
