  2. Started by Rayerker,

Hi everyone. I began reading a wheel of time over twenty years ago when the series first began and have awaited each new novel with eager anticipation. The final book came as a relief but also as a kind of grief knowing that there will never be any more. I currently reading them to my twelve year old son and we are on book six. It'll be my seventh series re read! Rand, LAN and nynaeve are my favourite characters with the shadow rising being my favourite book. I'm 41 and a big welsh rugby fan. I have two kids (daughter 16 and son 12) and work as a youth worker. I'm looking forward to reading the theory posts and seeing if people agree with my interpretation of things! …

Hello everyone on DM, I am a long time fan of the series but have not gotten involved in this community until now. I finished the last book a couple months ago ( I was reading off and on for a few years and had to play catch up to fully be prepared for a memory of light) and was very pleased with the ending. But, seeing as there is nowhere else to go in the series, nothing new to read or experience, I have decided I might as well join DM. I HOPE ITS NOT TOO LATE. -Nandar of House Riatin

Brand new to Dragonmount - hello! If I want to indulge in my love for this series and maybe get some roleplay on, I'd better get on these boards. None of my friends are fans. :(

Hey so I'm on round three reading WoT, I don't really socialize with anyone else who reads it. So I figured if I wanted to discuss it I'd better get online. And now here I am. Woop woop let's get the party started! Where do I begin?

  6. Started by Diana Petrescu,

Currently on book 4 Shadow Rising (though it's technically my 5th since I started with New Spring). I'm from Romania, started reading the series after two of my fantasy-nut buddies talked to me INCESSANTLY about it. I've always been more of a Sci-Fi person than a Fantasy person. In fact I think A song of Ice and Fire was the first BIG fantasy series I ever got into (and that again because it came highly recommended). Didn't read Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings or Narnia or anything of the sort growing up. Was busy with Herbert, Phillip K. Dick, Isaac Asimov, Star Wars Books and the like. I've come to realise I live in Sci-fi, but I vacation in Fantasy. :) So from …

Hey guys, i'm kinda new to the series and I absolutely love it! I'm one and a half books in, so that puts me in book two just about midpoint! I love this series so much! It's absolutely amazing the characterization and the biology/geography that RJ creates and how he dictates each life that revolves with the wheel! I know there is so much to unlock and that is what makes the series so intriguing and alluring! I look forward to reading all your posts and getting involved with you guys in the topics! I am specifically interested in the prophecies and the revelation of the Dragon reborn and the apocryphal last battle that looms in the future just on the precipice of eng…

  9. Started by Dakaran,

Hello! I'm new to Dragonmount, but not the books; I recently finished book 9 and I'm about half-way through book 10, but it's taken me close to a decade to get to that point, haha. Because I wind up having so much time between books, I always end up having to go through supplemental material online to help refresh myself, which is really time consuming. I actually did something a little different with book 9 and made a big ol' character map that shows the "end-state" of book 9. It's helped me a ton as I went through book 9 and now go through book 10. If anyone is interested, I posted it here on the forum. ~ Dakaran

  10. Started by Ryan J Mäki,

Hello, I'm new to the site and to forums in general, that is unless my car needs work or I can't figure out my phone:) I started the Wheel of Time when I was thirteen. Twenty-one years and 10,173 pages later I finished it. It took me four hours and as many glasses of scotch to read the last few chapters. The story itself continues to amaze me, even though by now the characters in it seem like old friends. I just wanted to join DM and maybe make some new ones who got as much out of it as I did.

  11. Started by Kermit the Frog,

Hey guys! I finally finished WoT like a month ago. I avoided going online and reading anything about while I was reading it to avoid spoilers. Hopefully people are still posting on here cause I literally don't know a single person who's read these books! This is the first forum I've ever posted on as well. Hope to see you all in the discussions :)

for introducing me to the only man on thus planet I could make a happy, loving life with. and hi, I'm Cindy Gill.

  13. . ...to proudly sit next to my Tolkien masterworks on my bookself. \o/ Hello everybody. Actually I have not really tried all that much. I gave Moorcock's Elric series a go, and found that OK. Then I tried out the Howard/De Camp/Carter Conan books and found them a bit better(though Howard's written parts were outstanding). Then I tried Burroughs John Carter of Mars, which I found a huge step backward. So I pretty much gave up on the genre completely, only re-reading my Tolkien books periodically, or watching some new fantasy movie that hit the theaters. Bookwise, I was just mostly sticking to some Sci-Fi and historical non-fiction reading. So a little ov…

Hi, thought it best to introduce myself here :) My name is Archer and I've literally (as of Thursday) finished reading the whole WoT series. I started in April this year after getting the recommendation from a work colleague. However I think I got hooked stronger than he did considering I was thinking how cool Callandor was while he was still reading about Baerlon. As such I have no one I know who has read them all enough to discuss things with and blood and ashes I need to talk about these books with people lol. I loved them :D Also just found out about JordonCon and I'm not lying, I'm debating attending next year. Anyone here been? Literally have no idea wh…

hey everybody, I am so happy to find out there are so many of you out there who appreciate and down right love the WoT series as much as me! I can't believe it. I actually read a chapter a night to my family before I put the lttle one to bed. We love it. I am only getting ready to start Lords of Chaos, so please son't anyone spoil anything for me. When I first started reading WoT, it was because I hadn't been to the bookstore n a couple of weeks, somehow just had the first two books in my closet from only the Light knows where, and picked one up figuring it would give me something to read til I got myself to Half Price Books about 20 minutes from the house. At first I…

What's up guys? I've been a huge fan of the Wheel of Time since 2005. I'm currently on my third re-read and I'm halfway through The Shadow Rising. I've been lurking the forums as mostly a spectator for quite a while but I've finally decided to step out from the shadows and be a more active member of the community. I love WOT because I feel it's one of the greatest stories ever told. The world is huge and immersive. The characters are excellent and mostly well developed. I'm a huge Perrin fanboy lol. So much so that I named my first son Perrin. I'm married and have 3 children (will be 4 in January). I look forward to becoming a more active member of the community and hopef…

A great big hallo to everybody on Dragonmount. Just signed up, and I already have a question. I have finally started reading the entire Wheel of Time series. beginning with New Spring. I have so far completed New Spring and Eye of the World and have started the Great Hunt. I am loving the books so far but I am a bit confused regarding a few things. So I am looking for an appropriate subforum/thread where I can post my questions and have them answered without the danger of Spoilers. So I would appreciate some guidance on this matter please. Thanx in advance

Hello all! I'm very excited to join this forum....Its actually the first forum I've ever joined! I'm 31 years old from Athens, Greece. Born and raised till 12 years old in New York, then moved here. A big reader but with very little experience in the fantasy world (for my friends that do read fantasy zero experience). At 14-15 years old i read the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings and even though i really enjoyed them i didn't touch another fantasy book until 2012 when i started reading the Game of Thrones; because i couldn't wait for the next season to air on tv! It was a great change from the other genres of fiction i was accustomed to. Made me fall in love…

I haven't been on a forum in years, so I have no idea how to go about this. Any advice would be totally welcome. Thanks, and may I see much more of all you guys in the years to come.

Hello everyone! Yet another new guy here! New guy to the forums, and relatively new to The Wheel of Time as well! I was introduced to the series by a friend about 12 years ago. My first attempt at reading them failed. The thought of such a long book series, back then, boggled my mind far too much. But now that I am older, and the series is over, I am giving them a shot once more! I am 4 books in and I have to admit, sometimes it can be a pretty hard read. The characters constantly bickering with each other tends to annoy me greatly, but other than that such an epic story is really a pleasure to read! My favorite character has to be al'Lan Mandragoran! Righ…

Hey everyone! I am Jenn, and I am from a majestic little town in Atlantic Canada. Just finished reading the Wheel of Time series, and enjoyed it so much that I decided to join these forums! Had a really difficult time not looking up things about the books online while reading them. But now that I am finished, I guess it can't hurt! Picked up "Eye of the World" one day at the library, and it hooked me from the first chapter. So then I had to buy all of them. Took me 6 months to read from start to finish, New Spring included. It was a very well written series, and I am actually sad to have finished them all. Wish there were more of these books to read! Looking forward to b…

  22. Started by Henrik Nåmark,

A few years after the first book was published I started reading. After a while I got tired of waiting all the time so I decided to start again when it was finished. Took up the first book again a few months back. Atm I'm reading "Crossroads of Twilight." Will probably take a few months before I finish.

  23. Aloha oukou, I must apologize because I entered this Forum kind of backwards. I spent time adding ideas to a Wheel of Time game before I introduced myself. In 2007 my wife purchased me The New Spring and the first three books of the Wheel of Time series. I was hooked and addicted from then on. I am quite convinced that this series, this saga is the best overall fantasy series ever written in the history of man-kind. I was never even interested in reading any books before I read The New Spring. Oddly enough I read the prequel first and I am glad I did. I got to experience the real time flow of events. I have read the series 2 and a half times. I made a horrible mistake…

  25. Started by Meridian,

Hello Dm Community. I just finished Wheel of Time (it's absorbed my life the past two months), and it's nice to find there are people out there who also love it. Most of my friends have never heard of it, and those who have, have never read it. I've been watching this site for several weeks now and finally worked up the nerve to join. :) I have a few questions regarding social groups and rp groups, but without an account I could not ask them prior to joining. So, if anyone knows who I should talk to, please don't hesitate to advise.

  26. Hello! I am new to this type of thing...fantasy books, cosplay, fan forums. I've known about this site for a while but have been hesitant to spend any time here because I'm still reading the books. It's hard enough to avoid spoilers being married to a huge WoT fan. However, last night I was reading (I'm at the end of Book 12 The Gathering Storm so this could be a spoiler for other newbies) and Rand announced to the men gathered at Tear that he was marching to Shayol Ghul. I had such a visceral reaction and I wanted to reach out to someone that gets it!!! Blood and ashes...its the beginning of the end! There is a part of me that is really sad...I'm almost done with …

  27. Hi all. So, while I was young I saw the fantastic cover art of Darrell Sweet on the books and had to read them, found them awesome and epic and full of lots of great societies. I followed them through the years. I got a bit sidetracked around the middle, reading other things, and became a fan of Brandon Sanderson when I found Warbreaker at a wedding I was going to. I later found he was finishing the series and got back to it and enjoyed it a lot. I recently went to a signing in the UK which rekindled my interest enough to make me join this place, after a fellow fan mentioned the place and said it was cool. I enjoy theory chats, roleplays, games, and uncovering…

  29. :D Hi, I'm Serif. I started reading Wheel of Time when I was in 6th grade. Friend of my parents was reading the series and lent me her copy of the first book. Just a couple days later, I was asking for the next book. It's all been down hill from there. Haha I am now 23, meaning that I have been a fan of this series for about half my life. I have re-read the series more times than I can remember and participated in midnight releases for the last 3 books. I own a hardcover copy of almost every book, a couple paperback duplicates (2 copies of A Shadow Rising and Winters Heart) and several of the books on Google Books. To say I am obsessed with Wheel of Tim…

Having long lost that old login info, I'm back with a different name and the same scholarly interest in Shadowspawn and lesser WoT subjects. I might occasionally chime in on discussions, and promise to behave myself.
