I just wanted to say hi, I'm a long time huge fan of the Wheel of Time and fantasy in general. I started reading the series about 17 or so years ago when Crown of Swords had just come out. I was a member of the websites Wotism, org and Wotism.net before both websites died and had pretty much stopped participating in the online fandom. But, a couple weeks ago I attended Jordan-con with some friends who are members here, and met a few other members and they all seemed really cool. Plus just being at a conventions focused on the series has reignited my passion for the series. So here I am.

Greetings, people. I'm new. The thing told me to introduce myself, so here it bloody goes: I am the Gambler Wolfbrother; if you can't figure out which bloody characters I'm talking about, you don't belong here. It's pretty obvious. I'm not all that wonderful at introductions, but I think it's not too terrible so far, yeah? Well there you bloody go. This book series is a big part of my life. After taking my sweet time finishing them (2 years, 8 months, 10 days) I got through all the books. After Fires of Heaven, it got pretty boring until Crossroads of Twilight. I mean, do we really need hundreds of pages of Elayne complaining about being pregnant? Can't we get mo…

Im almost finished reading "The Eye of the World" and I love it. I started reading it because someone in another forum (from a tv show "once upon a time") mentioned it to me as a book about time pattern and such and it sounded interesting. Edit: I tried to take the name Baelfire, but it was already taken :(

Alright so I am currently reading the series Song of Fire and Ice and love the world building and character development. I'm not going to be a fool and ask if the WoT series is similar to Martin's series because I know they are not. However, I come to you looking for an honest opinion. Should I start this series? I am not familiar with anything that regarding the WoT series. My concern is I need a series that leaves me thinking about it when I'm not reading. I need violence and other adult themes to keep my interest. I need main and important characters to die unexpectedly. From the little I know and rumors I've heard the book is humble boy chosen to save the world f…

Hey everyone! Although I've not yet read the last three books, I'm a long-time fan of the series. (As most of you can probably discern from my forum name, I'm a fan of various other sci-fi and fantasy works as well. ) I'd always meant to seek out and join a WoT community like this one, but for some reason I'd not actually remembered to do so til now. (Maybe I've been subconsciously worried about spoliers? I dunno.) Anyway, better late than never...I hope! I'm looking forward to hanging out with you folks.

Hey everyone. Obviously, I'm new here, and posted here to say hello to all my fellow WoT fans. I love debating, and I'm eager to check out the 'Cage Matches'. That, along with the Dragon Reborn RPing. I just finished reading the Path of Daggers, but since I am currently traveling (or should I say Traveling . . ) overseas, I don't have access to Winter's Heart. But as soon as I get home, you can be sure I'll jump right into it. And just a warning; I go to school in an out-of-town, all-boys boarding school, and rarely have access to the internet. The only way I have the resources to post any sort of detailed post here is to bike to the library on Fridays, which I do…

So, I started reading the series when I was 12 years old. My parents have been reading it since Eye of the World. Because of school, work, moving from my parent's house (where they owned every novel), having to get a library card, loosing my library card, and my whole family fighting over who gets to read the newest book 1rst 2nd and 3rd, I have only just finished MoL. It has been a thirteen year journey. Woa. I've never been interested in fan art until now. Anyway, while I am an avid reader of anything and everything literature, this series has moved me in so many ways. I feel as though I know the characters and geography of WoT better than the real world so…

I first got into the wheel of time just over a year ago, when a friend of mine shoved his copy of Eye of the World into my hands. I was in a thrift store a few days later, and I found books 2 through 6 there for $0.50, so obviously I bought them. And I hadn't even started reading by that point. I'm about 1/4 through Winter's Heart now. Anyways, I'm pretty active in the WoT fandom over on tumblr (failemyfalcon -- main blog//karaburrito -- art blog), and it seems like dragonmount is the other main place to be. I love to draw, and I've been working on a set of sketches of the Forsaken ahem, Chosen lately. My favorite characters are Moghedien, Egwene, and Fai…

Hi, I read through WoT last year for the first time and I'm gonna do a reread in the next few days so I figured this would be the perfect time to join a WoT forum. Hopefully now that I've got a decent grasp on the series I should be able to notice a lot more stuff in it this time around and have plenty to discuss. About me, umm, 28, unemployed ... I like gaming and reading.

Greetings Dragonmounters (Draongmountites?)! I started reading the WoT series a few years ago, and got to book four. I've recently started over from the start (with New Spring this time) as it had been a while since I read the first few books and I wanted to refresh a lot of things. I am a fan of roleplaying and have been doing so since I was 13-14 years old (over 15 years ago, yikes!). Started with MUDs, MUSHs, some forum based, and even a bit on LotRO (Lord of the Rings Online). As I was reading I decided to search for a forum that had WoT based roleplaying and that's how I've come here! Some of the fantasy series that are my favorite would include Lord of t…

Hello, my name is Inigo...wait, wrong intro. Sorry. I'm new, just recently signed up, to Dragonmount's forums; but am a long time fan of WoT (who here isn't? I mean, if you've read at least the first few books, waited for the release of the final book after reading the penultimate, or spent time looking up words in the Old Tongue, you're a long time fan). So, yeah, just thought I'd say hello and test the waters. Oh, and if you're curious (though you probably already know) the name means Sword Stone...I hoped it would be similar Sword in the Stone...yep, that's how I chose it.

Dear Community- I began reading The Wheel of Time series in 1994, I believe. I received the first three books for Christmas and plowed through them in the next couple months. I then began buying and reading the following additions to the series that were published. Eventually, once I finished the published books, I then had to wait for new books to be released to continue reading the series. I'm sure there are many Jordan fans that have had a similar experience. I loved these books. I stopped reading The Wheel of Time series in about 1998. The Path of Daggers was the last book I read. At the time I felt the book was fine. I wanted to know what happened to Matt, h…

Hi, I'm about 20 years old guy from Finland and I just finished(see what I did there?) the last book(like literally 8 hours ago and since I have done nothing but reading all amazing fan theories and trying to find more content online. It also left me with a gaping emptiness inside(yes, now I know how it feels :D), I learned to love the series 8 years ago when I read the first books and when I finally got the last chapter on my hands, I braced myself and read through the whole series before as much as opening the AMOL. I would very much like to talk about the series, but it's unfortunately not that famous here and I don't know anyone who would have read it. Fortunately, …

Greetings all... As you can see from my join date, I'm not new to DM, but I realized recently that I never posted an intro thread, and since I've recently become much more active on the forums, I thought I'd do a little introduction for those who care to know. I lurked around here for almost a year, posting mostly in the general WoT discussion, but the last few months I decided I missed forum sig making (from my World of Warcraft days), then started contributing to the Fiddlesticks spam... and now I'm hooked on mafia, so I guess you guys are stuck with me. I also have forum accounts under the same name on two other fantasy lit sites, so if you see posts from Songstre…

Hello all. I've been reading the Wheel of Time since it first came out. Like many of you, I've read and reread the series numerous times. While it has its weaknesses, I'll always have a soft spot for this one. Now, one of my main reasons for posting is that I'm a hobbyist blade maker. I never thought that the heron mark swords that are officially licensed were good enough. They don't fit the descriptions in the book at all, at least not of the one that I figure we all want: Tam's blade. So, I decided to make one of my own. Now, in the interests of not causing any legal issues, I'll not be selling these, so this should not be taken as an advertisement. Anyw…

Hi there! I am a new forum member and am excited to see what kind of community is fostered here and whether I will fit into this or add to it meaningfully. As seems a standard reaction, I was kind of bummed to have the series conclude (first read through was all fourteen in the last six months). I counter that by attempting to always live a life that fulfills my heart's desire for stories just as epic as our beloved :wheel:Ta'varens' . Thanks in advance to everyone who has made a way for a series this great to live on! First question - when should I finally read New Spring (haven't yet)? Now, or when I decide someday in the future to re-read the entire series? …

Wow. Last year I heard about the wheel of time series while listening to NPR when MoL came out. I thought it would be a series I'd like so I gave it a try. Boy was I in for a ride, it took me basically a year to get through all 14 (would of been quicker but work, school, daughter, and wife). I loved starting the series knowing that I had so many more books to read. I was bummed to finish the series. I feel like I'm now in a book rut and I won't find a series as good. I'm waiting to start sanderson's the way of kings series till I go on vacation. I recently picked up the EotW on CD for my commute to work. It's been a great way to relive the WoT series and I've picked …

Hi everybody, my name is Sophie, I'm 18 and ... I'm very fond of the Wheel of time (ahaa ) I can re-read it, that reveals something because I don't really like re-read books ^^ I have so many favourite scenes ♥ and so many favourite characters In the future I will have a house with a WoT-room (with painted scenes on walls, an ashandarei and some Ter'angreals made by an iron forger ) I forgot to mention it... I'm a dreamer xD But WoT isn't all my life (I'm normal, at the end of the day ^_^), I would like to be a hospital pharmacist (I finally chose my way :) ), I'm a piano player (yeaah =D Chopin and Debussy, I love you ! ), I LOVE rock climbing (I …

I just wanted to say couple of things since I see myself as big admirer of WOT series (it seems a little arrogant but I can't help it). I guess I just wanted to say Hi to all fellow WOT junkies. This is just best epic fantasy I've seen in my life. I have nothing but respect to other giants that are in epic fantasy (like Martin, Tolkien, Rothfuss etc.), but none of them did for me what Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson did. They made me miss the characters from the books. I've been reading this books for eight years now (I mean, read them, then reread them, read them on my native Serbian, read them on English, listen to audio books, reading comics). These books …

Hi, as this is the place to introduce yourself, I thought I might have a go. So I'm Tleilaxa, real name Frank, and I'm from Belgium. I started reading wheel of time 1 year ago at a slow but steady pace, since I don't have too much free time. I've been a fan since the first page of the first book. I've been going through these forums for some time now and I have read some interesting opinions. Lots of readers seem to dislike path of daggers, but I actually enjoyed it a lot. It's very hard to say which are my favorite characters. I like Nynaeve, Mat, Rand and Moiraine a lot, but my favorites have to be Cadsuane for being the perfect Aes Sedai and Lan for being Lan ;-). This…

Hi you guys! I'm in the final stretch of my first read of WOT - just finished "The Gathering Storm" last night. ...this has been the longest relationship of my life!....about 12 years to finish the series. I've been lurking here for a few months and would follow the structured conversations after I finished each book. Hopefully I can contribute constructively now. Take care!
