i suppose i never actually made an "introduce yourself", because i just immediately scrolled through and looked for stuff to respond to. Hi, i prefer to be called revenant (i always liked the way that sound) (and i like DND) i like making most of my posts to crack someone--at least 3 and 4/3.5th's a person--into a fit of laughter or short to a snicker that lasts a few seconds. nice to meat u.*

Hey there, I’m Xandria. I’m stoked to have found a place to discuss the books that I hold so dear, with others that do as well. I’m a tinker at heart, longing to find the Song… and refusing to believe it forever lost. So, my question remains… do you know the Song?

Hi there, I’m a big fan of The Lord of the Rings who thought he’d try something new, so why not the Wheel of Time? I came here after watching the Amazon series and reading about halfway through EotW. Loved the show, loving the book so far. Al Ellisande! William

Hello WOT family, My name is Vincent and I am a WOT addict "Hi Vincent." I was incarcerated in a county jail for a year and three months. In the space of that time, I read Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson's series. Never have I encountered books of this magnitude. And they're fun! They filled my days with light. The manner in which Rand develops is so masterfully human, I think Jordan didn't just record the thoughts of the imagination, but rather he created new forms, outcomes, and possibilities for how, at least speaking for myself, I personally can be in the world. He is a master at his craft and I think Sanderson did a scary…

Just finished the last book, and I can't stop thinking about it. So I signed up here instead of doing work... What a ride! I started the series when we went into our second COVID lockdown, and was looking for something to occupy my time with. I was always a bit intimidated by the sheer size of the series, but I reckoned I could always quit if I didn't like it anymore. But that never happened. Only book 10 felt like a serious drag to me, with no payoffs to reward me for staying with it, but the internet already told me book 11 would be great again, so I felt like fighting through one poor entry should be acceptable. And it was so worth it! Book 11 is ex…

I first read WoT in the 2000s as a teenager and had read everything up until and including Knife of Dreams twice. Then there was a wait before The Gathering Storm. And between release dates, I got distracted. For about fifteen years... (Yes, I recently completed the series only after spoiling myself silly - willingly). Anyway, I've always primarily been a lurker online, whether on LiveJournal or messageboards or Tumblr, and while I don't expect that to change dramatically, I wanted to at least give myself the chance to respond when I got frustrated or enlivened by something I read on these forums. Started digging into old and current threads after the first fe…

Hello! I am a not new the WoT, as my wife is a huge fan and has read the series many times. After years of considering reading it, I am now attempting to read through the whole series myself. It is a daunting task, especially as someone who hasn't done a lot of reading in probably ten years. I am up to book five, fires in heaven, and am really enjoying everything so far. I tried listening to the audiobooks while at work, but that was years ago, and it was really difficult to stay focused on the narration while I was working. As I read through the books, everything is much clearer to me. Over the years since we have been married, my wife has spoken at length about the seri…

my name is Ines, and I'm really happy to have my nickname as my actual name, it never happened before ahah I decided to join because I started to read the books (after watching the tv show...), I'm enjoying it a lot, I mean, I don't remember the last time I had so much fun reading. Especially in English, since it is not my first language. For now I'm still half way the second book, I know it is only at the beginning, but as much I'd like to go faster and read, finish everything tomorrow, I don't like the feeling when I finish something, you know that nostalgia... So I hope to take time and to enjoy every moment. Of course running away from spoilers will be my ma…

I thought about signing up a long time ago, when the TV forum was still only 4-5 total pages. I don't know why I think there's anything I could add now. ? I only started Wheel of Time a couple years ago, but I love it. My favorite fantasy series. I've read the whole series twice, and got half-way through a third time. Then watched the series, and had to go back to read book one again to cleanse the taint that left in my mind. So, that's my story.

Like my title says I'm happy and very excited to be here if a bit nervous. ? I started reading the books before the show and I love both! I'm looking forward to talking about them with others and happened to stumble across the twitter for the site and decided to take a look. I'm only about halfway through the third book and I'm enjoying every minute of reading the books so far

There's still a Green Ajah banner in my signature... I'mma leave it there a short time and then delete because... I'm sure it broke aaaaaaaaalll kinda copyright... Didn't know those existed at 16... Haven't ready the books in almost all that time... (heck... I don't think I've been on a legit forum since before Myspace...) Aaand couldn't resist the show... So. Hi!

As you can tell there is a good chance I'm a fan of everyone's favorite rogue. I've been reading Wheel of Time for about 15 years and it's one of my favorite series of all time, alongside Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson and A Pattern of Shadow and Light by Melissa McPhail. I'm also a fan of Video Games (Real Time Strategy and Role Playing Games being my favorite genres), and TCG. In short i'm a geek through and through. I spent 6 years of my life working in the Military and now work Security, not the most glamorous of work but i like my job. I'm a bit of an open book so if you have questions feel free to ask.

I read the books about five years ago on a challenge from a friend on an Ice & Fire, GoT web site, and liked them a lot better than expected. Great world-building, lots of character complexities, and five young, but flawed heroes who have to come together to save the world, with a lot of help from many. many others. I didn't find Dragonmount until after the show started. As to the show, my initial reaction is ... much better than expected. A show like this, it's better to talk it around with other knowledgeable folks, so here I am.

I was bad and started conversing weeks before doing this introduce-yourself, but nevertheless hi, hello, how ya'll doing? This series is perhaps my favorite written work of all time, though I am painfully aware of how ignorant of the SciFi/Fantasy genre I am. My brother actually introduced me to this series as a kid. He would tell me stories (that I thought he made up) about mysterious worlds of magic and fantasy. I distinctly remember him telling me the story of EF5 venturing into Shadar Logoth and the taint of that place, or was it the blight, and something about a dagger?? ? At that age I found myself far more obsessed with Piers Anthony's Xanth series oddly e…

Avid reader of Fantasy & Sci-fi here. Read the Eye when it first came out and the others as they appeared. Not a huge fan - heresy on this forum ?? - but liked it enough to keep going. Gave up at the end of Book 11. Recently bought the remaining ones, and reread the whole thing. Have been trying to connect to Dragonmount for about a month and keep on having trouble, so posts may be sporadic in the future. Anyway, hello everyone!

Hey, I've been a fan of the books since the mid-late 90's, and kept up with them since. Excited about the new show, and hoping it'll spark an interest in the books for my wife. Looking forward many discussions about both the books and the show. May you always find water and shade.

Hi, all. I should've done this first, but didn't, so here we go. I'm probably going to be one of the few posters here who joined specifically because of an interest in the TV series and who isn't a fan of the novels, but hopefully people won't hold that against me.

Hello, I had already made a presentation some times ago (jaime lannister 31) and made a terrible mess with passwords etc, so coming back with a new account. Still read books 3 times in english despite being french because the translation is a disaster, loved it, even though books 8-10 are quite difficult/slow. I am really liking the show, and my familly too, who did not read the books, too. I had always said to any one around me that wot was one of my favourite books, with big problems however, and that it was impossible to adapt on tv show, much more than GOT. Overall, I feel they have a huge task, which demands a lot if difficult choices and inte…

Not entirely a returner... I started posting on the forum a couple of years back under the name Lethira (I think 2018) and met some lovely people briefly. I believe the site had a massive problem and for a few days people couldn't post. For some reason, I never managed to get my account back and properly working and it faded into the background. A big hi from a reader in the UK. Looking forward to conversing with you.

Back to these forums after a long hiatus. I was a longtime lurker while I read through the books starting around 2006. I would go on to reread and listen to the audio books while waiting for the next volume to release. All of this was during a time in my life where I, unknowingly, was pretty lonesome. First real job, in a new city with no connections. Looking back, the characters of Randland were a constant companion and source of both escape and comfort. Happy to be back for the new tv series and see things come to life. I want to give a big thank you to all of the staff, admins, moderators...everyone that has kept this sit…

Hi everyone! Long time book fan here... still remember when I first picked up The Eye of the World in 1990 at the Galaxy Bookshop in Sydney... and the interminably long wait for every new book after that!? Luv to see sooo many like-minded fantasy genre fans here. Hope to be an active contributor as well. Cheers!

Hi there, Been rereading the books this summer/fall and with the start of the TV show thought it’d be fun to check out DM again. Apparently it has been 10 years since I joined and posted much. Looking back at my posts and profile name I just shake my head a bit and wonder, who was that? Anywho, look forward to chatting with folks here and there.
