Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by Hillfood,

So, I joined this site almost exactly a year ago, two days past, while I was in Afghanistan. I puttered around on the site for maybe a month, then had some things come up that prevented me from accessing the internet, but eventually led to my leaving Afghanistan, safe and healthy. I had intended to return to the site when I got settled back home, which would have been around June or July, but one thing led to another, and, well, as you can guess, I didn't come back. Now, though, I've returned. I figured that, though I'm not exactly a "new member" anymore, it's been long enough that I should re-post here in the Introduction forum before spreading like the plague …

  2. Welcome to the first monthly discussion on the Intro board. These are designed to generate activity for both our new members and old. Feel free to ask questions and chat amongst yourselves, try to keep spam to a minimum though :) How did you find Dragonmount?

just wanted to say hi I have been a long time fan of the books. each one I add my name to the libary list to read the hardback and when the paperback is releashed I run out to buy it. each new book - I reread all the previous books while waiting for the hardcover to be avaible at the libary. each book takes me about a week to read. My only disappointment so far was that their was some talk about a movie but i have not heard any thing about that in a long time. i will be buying my this last and final book as a hardcover book - i cant wait.

  13. Started by Crowl Rife,

Hey there, I've been lurking on sites like Dragonmount, TarValon.net, Wotmania, etc ever since they came into being. I used to even browse the old newsgroup back in the mid-90s. I was active on TarValon for a while when Knife of Dreams came out, but moved on to other things for awhile. I've been reading the series since 1992, so I've been waiting a long time for the end. Over the years I read up on a lot of the theories and content, and finally decided now to participate a bit since the end is almost here. I've been blogging on each entry in the series since May, when I started what will be my last re-read in a long while. I'm going to copy them here in the blog …

Hello! I'm new to the site, and I've been lurking for a bit. Decided it was time to register so I can post and whatnot. I came to the books by audiobook. I've got a terrible commute to work, so I got into audible, and stumbled on WoT about the same time Robert Jordan passed. Currently, I'm on my second listen-through. Hopefully I should be done by the time AMoL comes out. I'm in Atlanta, and I've been to some of the WoT track events at Dragoncon, but (amazingly) didn't know about Jordancon until recently. Anyway, hello!

Hi all! I just finished book 10 of the Wheel of Time series. I am flat broke, so I was thinking that I would have to wait until I can get some money again before I can go and buy book 11. Then, something wonderful happened: I found Knife of Dreams behind my book shelf! I think I bought it several months ago and then shoved it back there because there was no room for it at the time and I knew it would be some time before I got to it. I completely forgot. I am not sure what inspired me to look behind my bookshelf, that is not something I would normally do. Maybe it was ta'varen pull from one of the characters in the book. Looking forward to participating in this f…

Greetings all. Been a long time for me, but going back to the series again. I cannot wait to re-read the books (again). A lot of catching up to do but I really cannot wait to get back at it.

I started reading this series around two years ago, and became current in having read all the books out so far last fall (finished ToM the day after it was released). Been lurking on and off for around a year. I can't wait to start sharing my thoughts and theories with all of you. My favorite book in the series is TSR, just reread it last week as a matter of fact. My favorite character, Perrin, really came into his own in that book. However, on the whole, i think I like Sanderson's writing style and breakneck plotline resolution better than I liked Jordan's more descriptive style. I do think that Jordan's extensive worldbuilding really did set Sanderson up…

this foolish Gleeman has just joined Dragonmount (well, I joined months ago but forgot what my password was) & would like to let everyone know that if they want something Wheel of Time-ish to read whilst impatiently awaiting the publication of aMoL then the novel 'He Sleeps Under the Hill' by Bob G Leeman is now half complete (or half incomplete depending on your perspective) and can be found on fanfiction.net. do not let this put you off, it is all within the canon and there are no irritating Alternative Universes or Harry Potter crossovers to have to deal with. & especially no bloody vampires! promise! first chapter of Book II to be posted during the Feast o…

Good day to you, members of the Dragonmount forums, Although I am new to you I am not new to the WoT books. I'm a professional at making things up (read: improviser) and I'm flirting with the idea of joining the RP realm of Dragonmount. It's nice to be here. Solimind

I keep on meaning to actually buy the books to read (need a different persepctive) just never seem to find the time. Well I'm exited to chat with all of you WoT readers and have a Merry Christmas!

Hey guys. I used to be on the WoT that I think is from here, still got my 50000 emails :) Anyways, I was wondering who would be up for a really, really big WoT Mafia style game? I ran smaller versions of this a few times on other forums, but they don't have the user base to have enough players to justify the 16 "mafia" players I wanted to use. Plus they weren't WoT forums. Would anyone be interested in playing such a game and which forum or subforum would be appropriate to run it? nvm, found mafia board.
