Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by Dmitri,

Hi to everybody! I'm Dmitri from Russian city Irkutsk. :) Although I've been on this forum for some time, I'd like to introduce myself to the community. We've got russian translation of WoT books only ~10 years ago, and since that time I've read and re-read it 'bout 8 times. And, thanks me ;), I could read it in native language. That's gives a completely different view to RJ's works.

Well this is my first time participating in a forum, and i would like to say hi to everyone and let them know a little about me. My name is Josh and im from Lake City Tennessee. I have read all the WoT books but have not finished New Spring as of yet. Started reading them in about 1998-2000, when I happened to see them sitting on a library shelf and have loved them since. And now I will leave you all to whatever it is that you do.

  7. Started by Pixiedragon,

Hello all, After reading up a bit around here I decided to join this rather large forum as well. I'm from the Netherlands and unlike some of the series I've read, I have only read WoT books in Dutch so excuse me if I mess up the names a bit. The names are rather similar in the Dutch books so that is more confusing than when they would be completely different. (Like Rhand for Rand, because "rand" is a Dutch word meaning "edge" and it would become a bit silly) Let's see, I've recently finished rereading the series, though I haven't had time to read NS for the second time yet. Before joining I've been reading a lot on encyclopaedia-wot.org but I found it ra…

Hello everyone and greetings from sunny Orlando. My name is Omar and I was introduced, like many of us, by a friend to RJ my freshman year in college 2002. I was hooked with the introduction of Elyas and the wolves and soon read all the books like it would win me a million dollars. I've read through the series about 4 times now, and I listen to the books while I work. Quick facts about me: Favorite Character: First time through: Perrin Second time through: Rand Third time through: Mat Fourth time through (after KoD came out): Egwene made a big push, but its still Mat. Favorite Chosen: I'd have to say Ishmael. Favorite Aes Sedai: At first it was Verin, b…

So, I'm a bit out of this thing, cause I don't have any idea what should I tell in here. Let's start from the beginning. ??? I'm a seventeen year old girl from... Finland. I think that's the thing that's gonna explain to you all my bad english which's coming straigh from the lower parts of human body ;D So, ask if you don't understand.(Hope, you understand that I'm trying to say that if you don't understand you should ask so I can explain what I'm trying to say, the way that you understand about my expalnation even less than about the original sake. OMG, I love word:"understand". :-*) My beginning with the WOT was last summer when I was checking out if I could find so…

  15. Started by Nay,

Heya everyone! I'm new here, obviously. :D Mm and looking forward to chat with you all and attempt some RP again, been so long since I last RP'd, I'm sure it's going to be fun. :) I've been into WoT for quite a few years, reading and rereading the books in both my native as well as the English language. My favourite chararcters probably are Egwene and Mat, though my heart also jumps when Elayne and Nynaeve are up. Semirhage is probably the first book character ever that chills me to the bone and I think I like Perin less (nooooooo don't eat me, I know how many Perinfans there are!). I'm from the Netherlands and I'm 21 years, I love reading and gaming, can enjoy …

Hi all, I am JB Sedai (Jacques Blaauw, but since I'm male, my name just doesn't sound right with Sedai after it), I joined just last week. I'm of the Light-Brown Ajah (half White, half Brown). I'm new to your forum, but not to the Wheel of Time. I read the tEotW for the first time in 2003, after received a pdf with the first 9 books from a friend. Before I even finished the first book, I went and bought tGH. I now own all the books, and I'm on book 9 of my 5th read-through. Other fantasy I also like is the Dune series by Frank Herbert and anything by Trudi Canavan. And, of course, Terry Pratchett. As far as other fiction goes, I like Stephen King (own 56 of his…

Yep you read that right the Two Rivers its true, thats where I am. Wait, why doesn't anyone belive me? Oh wait I guess I should explain that a wee bit more. The Two Rivers as discribed my RJ is based losely on Charleston, South Carolina which is where I call home. For those who are wondering, no there is no Winespring inn here, however we do actually have a Ogier St.; no lie I have been done it looking for a grove but no luck. I have been reading these dang addicting books since like '95 when a friend shoved a tattered copy of the Eye of the World in my hands, telling me to read it with little more then saying, "Here, read this, it's great and the author lives here".…

Hi all, I am new to the forums , but have been hanging around the dragonmount website for a while now. I am a huge fan of WoT. This is my all time favorite series, which used to be Lord of the Rings until I picked up Eye of the World four years ago. In addition to reading I am also a runner and log onto nikeplus.com to record my runs and issue challenges to the other runners. I currently have a challenge called Wheel of Time characters. If any of you like to run and have the nikeplus chip please join up in the challenge. Thanks for making a really cool website and allowing all of us fans to hang out. Joe

Hello, my name is Roy. I don't ever know what to put in these get to know you sections. But here goes. I was introduced to RJ in 1994 by a friend. I had never really been into reading all that much before. Once I had gotten through TEOTW I was hooked and couldn't wait to get to TGH. I quickly caught up to the unreleased books and found myself eagerly waiting for the next book to come out. Even so much as to start reading other series that he had written. But seeing as this is DM and not a Conan site I will not get into that. LOL Like so many other readers I could put myself into the stories. Everytime I read them I would daydream about what I would do if I were in the sto…

  21. Well, greetings there, Have been lurking around here for some time now, and in the end decided to register. Likely, I'll continue with this attitude, dropping a post here and there where I see fit. ;) I've picked this series up some two years ago, and since then could never really let go of it. I can "only" claim to have reread books 1-6 as well as the last two, CoT(because I found certain online ratings to be nothing but ridiculous, to put it mildly) and KoD(this to refresh my memory of what the most recent state of events is in Randland), so no boasting on knowing every single sentence of the book by hard for me :D. Anyway, I am looking forward to follo…

I am from Finland and thus don't speak English as my native language so if my posts are some what unclear just ask me what I meant. I promise not to be offended. I might not be the most active member since I still have to go to shcool and do my homework and so on.

Didn´t see this forum when I first came onto this sight. Was too interested in the WOT discussion´s and RJ´s death I guess. I was searching for info on the latest installment of WOT when I found this sight. And reading about Robert Jordan passing floored me. I have been a fan for years and am very sorry to see him go. I USED to call myself a Wheel of Time-ologist.....that is until I came on here. You guy´s are gonna have me researching my butt off! Erin (yes I am a guy, my parent´s wanted me to learn how to fight but didn´t actually want to TEACH me, so they named me Erin with an E)

Hi there. I wanted to introduce myself and ask one question. I have just finished the third book The Dragon Reborn, and went out to buy the fourth. I bought it and also bought the prequel New Spring The Novel. Should I go ahead and read the prequel or should I wait until later to read it? Any suggestions as to when I should read it would help. Thanks! JohnC420@uga.edu

Hello, I'm called Ecliptus on these forums and Naeblis Chosen on the game. I am going to be the n00ber that shall cause all game vets here to rip out their hair in utter frustration. Yes, I shall constantly barrage the forum with Dumb### questions and, at the same time, humbly beg for your forgivness. I gerranty you that it shall only last a generation or so. So stay strong. I could see the Mod's breaking out their M-16's and AK-47's.)
