Greetings, I am Eastern Prince. I have been searching for books that come close to the Lord of the Rings in my heart. I have been significantly disapointed thus far until I picked up The Wheel of Time. I am only in the first stage in my journey but I have not been able to put the book down. Not since the Lord of the Rings have I read 200 pages in one session. I am pleasantly surpised and I am getting the feeling that this book will indeed compete with the Lord of the Rings as the best epic I have ever read. Hi all, Just started reading the books again (started tGH this morning)and have frequented the Dragonmount website for news for awhile now and thought that I should find out other peoples opinions in events from the book as I have read them about 12 times and don't seem to be able to think differently! I am a long-time, multiple-reader fan of the WoT universe. I joined to post a specific question that I had not found an answer to. I am incapable of deciding who is the greater master of worlds-that-are-not, RJ or JRRT. I find myself torn between the sheer beauty of Tolkien's language and the social depth of Jordan's world. Not new to the site, been browsing it for years, but this is the first time I have actually registered anything. Anyhow. Hello everyone! Picked the series up in cook county jail while I was fighting a case for two years. Got me back into reading for enjoyment, and oddly enough, haven't been arrested since then either.

New to the site. Recently convinced that I needed to be on it by my father-in-law who's been on the site for a while and introduced me to the books originally. He, my wife, and I have had some fun discussions and come up with some interesting ideas so I figured with lots more people it could add to the fun. That's about it.

(Ok I admit I had a hard time getting into it at first.....) But now I'm in the middle of book four: The shadow rising and I can't put it down! Yeah, hi. I'm pretty much new here, though I've been stalking the forums for the past day or two. Simply put, I'm a hellbent Wheel of Time fanatic. I was one of the "lucky" ones. What do I mean by that? I didn't even know of the Wheel of Time's existence until last year, by which time all 11 books (well, 12 counting ANS) had been published.
