Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Greetings, I am Eastern Prince. I have been searching for books that come close to the Lord of the Rings in my heart. I have been significantly disapointed thus far until I picked up The Wheel of Time. I am only in the first stage in my journey but I have not been able to put the book down. Not since the Lord of the Rings have I read 200 pages in one session. I am pleasantly surpised and I am getting the feeling that this book will indeed compete with the Lord of the Rings as the best epic I have ever read. Blimey, I have even stopped watching the Sci Fi chanel since I picked this book up. I would love to meet new people who are interested in WOT and other …

Hi all, Just started reading the books again (started tGH this morning)and have frequented the Dragonmount website for news for awhile now and thought that I should find out other peoples opinions in events from the book as I have read them about 12 times and don't seem to be able to think differently! Am hoping this forum will enlighten me to some things I haven't been able to figure out ;D I actually registered the day Robert Jordan passed away, may the light shine on him, on the back-up boards but then it got all changed around so confused myself trying to figure it out, surprise surprise it was easy when I thought about it! If anyone can give me some pointer…

hello everyone. about 4 years ago i started reading what i thought was just a book. funny how that sounds when other people say that. if they could just unwrap the gift that robert jordan gave us they would see.....really see. i remember reading the eye of the world and not being able to put it down for days. then i would move on to the next and the next. reading for me isn't just some past time, something to do. it's were i go to excape the mundane, it's my haven, my liberation. robert jordan's books brought me into a vast and expansive world, were every emotion is pulled out of u and laid bare, u don't just read, u feel, u love, hate, envy, forgive.....u just do…

I am Sven. I come from the Islets of Langerhans. Pleased to meet you. I like reading the Wheel of Time, so far I am up to the part where Rand leaves the Two Rivers province after the Trollocs attack. Please no spoilers. I'm also a fan of Doctor Who, Firefly, Zombie Walk, and individually biting the limbs off Tiny Teddies while listening to and endless loop of the theme to Malí poníci a jejich přátelé. My favourite thing in the world today is my moneybox, which is shaped like a helicopter which is shaped like cow with a flower on its head.

Howdy y'all, the name is Dom. ASL = 20/m/New Zealand Um, don't really have any questions, I'm currently half-way through my second reading of the series (Quite literally actually, I'm at about page 500 of Lord of Chaos, what a coincidence). Picking up stuff I didn't notice before. FAQ Answers of my own: Yeah, I think Graendal did it. You know what I'm talking about. I used to think Mazrim Taim was Demandred, it made such perfect sense! Then Winter's Heart kind of blew that out of the water. thanks, RJ On that note I was very sad to hear of RJ's death. I ranted and raved for several hours and what I thought would be the end of the series (and we were…

Hey, this is my first time ever on any roleplay site, so be kind. I'm really glad that I chose to read this series. The downside (if you want to look at it like that) is that the series is so darn addicting! :-X See ya 'round DM! :)

  11. His name is DennKais9. And he's apparently a slacker who can't start his own thread. ;D so i met this guy in a class and he started telling me a story. i knew right away that he would be a great addition to this site, specifically a person interested in the writer's guild. not that i could resist getting him interested in mafia or anything... Please be nice to him for the first few moments before you scare him.

I am a long-time, multiple-reader fan of the WoT universe. I joined to post a specific question that I had not found an answer to. I am incapable of deciding who is the greater master of worlds-that-are-not, RJ or JRRT. I find myself torn between the sheer beauty of Tolkien's language and the social depth of Jordan's world. Clearly, the world is better for both. --Shannon

Hey hey, I guess I should introduce myself. I've been a fan of WoT since....well, since I started reading it. I don't remember exactly when that was, but I know only the first four books were out at the time and I thougth that was all there was too it. hehe, I got to the end of Shadow Rising and thought, "hang on, that doesn't sound like the end"....... hehe, 15+ years down the track and things are still going crazy. Oh well. I found this forum while looking for information on a possible 12'th book (since Robert Jordan had sadly passed away - RIP, Mr J). So here I am. Hope to have some good discussions. I'm sure there are people here so much crazier about…

Not new to the site, been browsing it for years, but this is the first time I have actually registered anything. Anyhow. Hello everyone! Picked the series up in cook county jail while I was fighting a case for two years. Got me back into reading for enjoyment, and oddly enough, haven't been arrested since then either.

New to the site. Recently convinced that I needed to be on it by my father-in-law who's been on the site for a while and introduced me to the books originally. He, my wife, and I have had some fun discussions and come up with some interesting ideas so I figured with lots more people it could add to the fun. That's about it.

Hello all - Tom from Mansfield, England here... have all the books but read most of them in half-hour nightly chunks before I slept (starting about ten years ago); so basically knowledge is not detailed! I intend to read them all again closer to MoL coming out. Thanks for the forum, site, community, etc.

Just thought I'd say hello to everyone out there. I'm what is apparently called a 'newbie' here in the forums. It really all has me a little confused, but I thought it might be a good time to learn how to actually use my computer. A little about myself... obviously I'm no computer/forum/lol/avatar/blog expert, but I'm willing to learn. I enjoy short walks to the kitchen, music from anyone with 'Marley', 'Marvin', or 'The' in the title, sunrises as seen on the Weather Channel, and a cold Dr. Pepper while reading this wonderful series. I'm also a football player that happens to read. I get plenty of ridicule for reading the Wheel of Time books before games, but I've be…

Hello, everyone. I'm Quisalas, and I just started reading the Wheel of Time books in February or so, when Raeyn mentioned Dragonmount on her radio show, that I listen to. I've got a White Tower initiate in the works, and her brother, who will eventually be a warder. I'm not quite done with their bios yet, but I figured I ought to introduce myself to those of you who don't know me from KoL and say hi. Hi. :) I've been playing D&D for about twenty years now, roleplaying online in chat rooms and message boards for about 12 years, and been a general lover of fantasy for as long as I can remember. Even my chosen handle, Quisalas, is a word in elven from the D…

Greetings all. I found this site last week while looking for info on Book 12. I was quite impressed, and thought I'd join. Hopefully I can make some useful contributions to some of the discussions. I've learned a few things that I hadn't picked up on just from reading some of the discussions. About myself: I'm in my mid-30s and live in western Wisconsin with my wife and 3 kids. I grew up as a farm kid in the northern part of the state, studied history in college, and took a job as a correctional officer with our local Sheriff's Dept. after graduation. I was introduced to WoT by one of my inmates, who had just received the newly released A Crown of Swords. …

Hey everyone! I've been lurking around here reading for a couple of weeks, and finally decided to join. I've been reading The Wheel of Time almost since it was new, and it is (obviously) among my favorite books. I just recently heard that Robert Jordan had died, and when I heard, it was like hearing an old friend was gone. But I'm glad someone else is going to finish the series for him, and I can't wait for the next book, though I'm sad that it will be the last. I'd like for it to go on and on... A little about me now, I guess. I am 23, and female. I am originally from Oklahoma, and now I live in southern Colorado, in a log cabin in the middle of the mountains w…

Yeah, hi. I'm pretty much new here, though I've been stalking the forums for the past day or two. Simply put, I'm a hellbent Wheel of Time fanatic. I was one of the "lucky" ones. What do I mean by that? I didn't even know of the Wheel of Time's existence until last year, by which time all 11 books (well, 12 counting ANS) had been published. So instead of suffering the agonizing wait to read them, I simply scooped up the three first, and before I had finished them I had ordered the rest and swallowed them up in a matter of weeks - literally. Needless to say, I was more than extremely sad when I heard Robert Jordan had passed away. I'm aspiring to be a writer, and he w…
