This is just an idea I've been mulling over for a while. We know that the seals on the DO's prison are made out of cuendillar and they are the "focus points" of the seal. We know that nothing can break cuendillar as even the power just gets absorbed to make it stronger. We also know that shortly before they broke, someone holding one of the seals could sense feelings of anger, hatred, suffering, etc. and that those feelings disappeared after they broke. Now here is my theory. The feelings of evil were caused by the DO, whether because he was "close" to them or what I don't know. Is it possible that the seals absorbed so much of the power, probably the True Power…

Hello all, I've never really paid too much attention to some of the hidden information in the books but I've been reading through here a bit as I'm going through the books again and something kind of caught my attention. I tried searching to see if it was mentioned anywhere else, but I didn't notice it. In Path of Daggers, New Alliances, how did Sorilea figure out traveling to pass on to Cadsuane? The sisters sent to meet Rand from the rebel camp had left before Egwene figured it out and the only other non Forsaken/male that I can remember that knew it was Alvarian. I don't recall it being mentioned in a dreamwalker meeting, though I guess it is possible and one…

Just a little something I've been thinking about lately...It seems as though Lews Therin was the reason some of the 13 known Chosen turned to the Shadow. I mean I can believe one or two weak minded people would go over to the Shadow like Be'lal did because he was jealous. But it's difficult to believe that of all the powerful Aes Sedai of the time the Light gets one of the supposed 2 most powerful men of all time, and the Shadow gets the other, as well as the most powerful female Aes Sedai in history. And these powerful people specifically went over because of Lews Therin. Be'lal was envious of Lews Therin so went to the dark, Demandred couldn't quite live up to LTT and w…

This has probably been discussed many times before but I figured I’d ask anyway. So if a channeler is forcefully turned to the shadow with 13+13 circle, what actually takes place? I am assuming this course of action binds the said channeler to the Dark One somehow, but does it change their nature and their belief system? Otherwise how does the Dark One prevent disobedience with such an unwilling follower? Would it provide total control over that individual’s actions? It seems to be a popular belief that the second time Perrin has to be there for Rand will involve 13+13 action with Borderlander Aes Sedai, hence I wanted to understand the potential consequences of suc…

I was thinking, I saw that they were making a RPG for wheel of time which i thought was cool but not as cool as a strategy game would be like Praetorians. Not sure how many of you played that, but like a game like Age of Empires / starcraft. But cooler. Like you can have like brigades, instead of an individual unit, and you can mess around with formations instead of just sending them in waves. I mean for a WoT strategy game you could have like 3 fractions. You have the seanchen, with their very disciplined troops maybe not as numerous as other units in the game because they rely heavily on damanes as weapons highly offecive offensive and defensive units. And of cours…

Those may have been subject to other topics.. but i haven't found it so here it goes: 1- What was the "Vileness" after the end of the Aiel War that some AS (specially Cadsuane) talk about?? 2-Were the Forsaken only 13? Moghedien says, when she first seens Moridin, that "Only twenty-nine others have been given this privilege" [tap the TP]. We can assume that the DO would not liberate the TP to anyone... if only 13 of the Forsaken were left, who are the other 16 TP channelers? Were they Chosen too? If not, why could they channel the TP not being a Chosen? That's it ^^ Ty

Don't know if this has ever been mentioned before, but it seems like there is an inconsistency regarding skimming in earlier books. How did Rand get on the exact same skimming pathway as Asmodean at the end of SR. I thought that for someone to do that it would have to be made on exactly the same spot going to exactly the same spot, and I assume that Asmo didnt skim there for Rand's perch in the Golden Bowl, but could have missed some information.

Anyone take any interest into the apparent presence of gay relationships in The Wheel of Time? The more obvious one is the one between Ailil and Shalon revealed under the cover of the more or less subtle title of "pillow-friends." I've also read posts mentioning the activities of the young women in the White Tower in the New Spring (which I haven't read yet, though this makes me all the more anxious to). More recently, though, I was reading Crossroads of Twilight and in chapter 9 (Traps) I came across another relationship, possibly, between Therava and Galina. It is told that they are sharing a tent together, which I at first passed up as negligible, but then, l…

Ok... In Randland we are constantly hearing the girls complain about the guys. Such as Elayne going on about how Rand made everything in Andor so difficult. After he de-Forsakened the City. Created order. And Elayne blah blah blah's Rand incompetence at saving the world. And so many girls (mainly ELAYNE) always going on about how guys make things ridiculous when the guys are the ones saving the day. This thread is mainly here to Rant about all the times girls have done things like that when the GUYS are just being awesome... Why do they do that!

I've been wondering about this for ages. Why did Perrin just leave his axe in the wood? What was the symbolism there. I remember he and Elyas were talking about it, or maybe it was someone else. I don't remember, but the point is that it's a big mystery to me.

First post here :) Anyways, I've been mulling it over and thought it might be interesting to see if we could figure out which sisters are in which heart etc. By KoD we know the names of 26 Black sisters, but only three full hearts which are: Galina Casban,Talene Mindy and Temaile Kinderode Rianna Andomeran, Amico Nagoyin and Chesmal Emry Atuan Larisett, Karale Sanghir and Marris Thornhill We also know that only some sisters have a one other. The one others we know of are Amico knows Liandrin and Galina knows Alviarin. Moving forward, we also know two who are confirmed not to be in the same heart, Elza and Fera. So that leaves 17 sisters to be …

So what will happen to this guy after Tarmon Gaidon? It seems he will be busy rebuilding the Children. My main question is what will happen between the relationship between Rand and Galad. He can't kill Rand because he always does the right thing, an he knows (or should know) that Rand is the Dragon Reborn and that he must survive to face the DO and defeat him.

So, as I was walking home today, I realized something shocking; we could see tanks at the last battle. By tanks I of course mean motorized artillery pieces created by combining that dude from Rand's school's steam wagon (which has completed a journey to Tear by KoD) with Aludra's cannons. I don't think this is a huge leap, as I recall Mat saying he'd want two horses to pull his cannon carts, and Rand is aware of the pulling potential of the steam wagons. Plus the people involved with construction of both these devices are pretty ingenious, and its not much of a leap from "Let's pull the cannons with these wagons." to "Let's put the cannons on top of these wagons." …

I really don't like Perrin. He is always moaning and crying about something. Hr was especially annoying in the book, I forget which one, but the book where the tinkerer woman dies at the first.

The general idea I get around here is everyone loves Mat and hates everyone else for one flaw or the other, a very general generalization. The person I see take the most flak is Egwene or maybe not, but that's who this thread is about. She seems to be bashed for being bitchy and being a hypocrite in some contexts or something and it is reasonable to argue that those are far from negligible flaws, but I think they are negligible flaws when it comes to Egwene. In my opinion Egwene is a very admirable character. She is a very strong person despite all she has been through. She has been forced to watch the boy she knew since childhood, a boy she loves and was supposed to…

I see 4 major potential conflicts between the good guys that I'd like to here your thoughts on? Gawyn, Rand and Eggy. Gawyn thinks Rand killed his mother and is currently siding with Elaida in the White Tower Civil War. But I don't think this is as serious as the other three since all that Gawyn has to do is find out his mother is alive and that Elaida been holding Egwene as a prisoner. But none the less this still has to be adrresed since Gawyn does command Elaida's elite troops. The "Younglings". Seanchan's and Rand. Rand has been fighting them and bloody them on many occasions but will need there help agianst the Shadow. I know Mat is Married to Tuon bu…

Will The continent of Randland be in Pretty much three chunks of Mat's territory, Perrins and Rand's? Excluding Borderlands and Andor I guess. Does anyone have a Colour Map that shows what belongs to who? I did a rough one that I was going to show you but I cant figure out how to paste the pic on here... (pretty much West was Mats, Centery middley was Perrins and south east was Rands?) Make sense? And andor goes to elayne... Unfortunately...

I made this one because with the exception of the Tower of Ghenji we really haven't talked about Moriane. Her in the waste heading to Rhuidean. Yeah she's naked in the scene but its just shows you she almost as tough as aeil. This will be my last your "favorite moment" thread from me.

The Salidar Aes Sedai have a thousand novices with them, some of them very strong. Once Egwene is raised do you think their promotion to Accepted and Aes Sedai will be rushed, or will they take their time? We don't have much time left but they'll be rather useless as novices with no autonomy.

I just had a thought about how the WT storyline involing Egwene might play out. We know from our own physiology that our bodies, over time, will gradually develop resistance to any drug we introduce into it.Basically we need more and more of the drug to have the same effect; until at some point the drug ceases working at all or if becomes physicaly impossible to ingest the amount that would have the desired effect. I think Egwene will develope a resistance over time to the forkroot tea and will eventually be wandering around the tower at full strength. I dont know what path the story will take but we will probably see Egwene give some sisters nasty suprises in the way of …
