Does anyone know how the Dark side punishes it's soldiers and DF's? We know that the Light side, like Rand and other lords and ladies, plus other main carachters punish their soldiers for whatever reason. Does something similar exist within the rakns of the Dark army?

  2. It has to be for me without a doubt the reunion scene between the three lads from The Two Rivers. They have not actually been together since the end of The Great Hunt. Even though they were all in Tear together at the end of The Dragon Reborn and at the start Fires Of Heaven. That is a long time ago for us not to see them all at once. I can only surmise that we will see some major Taveren sparks flying when the three of them are all together again. Since now they are all fully developed and at the height of their PULL I think we will see everything come together real quick with everyone else playing catch up. That and Rand and Tam.

Just wondering whats the current opinion on Cadsuane motives what does she intend for Rand. i.e. transform him into something like herself strong willed but more "human" or does she wish to retain some control over him

I thought it’d be quite interesting to do a run down on a few of the links between WoT and existing legends. You never know, there might be an interesting little nugget in there that could give us a clue about the plot of AoL. And yes, this has been done before. Rand and Arthur There are numerous links, some tenuous others less so, between Rands story and the Arthurian legends. The Names Al Thor – Arthur While the easiest mythological link to Rands name is the Norse god of thunder, there is a striking similarity between the protagonists name and that of Arthur. Looking a little closer, you can find other links between character names and Arthuri…

Since TG is coming up and what looks like the end of an age would anyone like to speculate on who Shivan the Hunter is, a hero of the horn whose appearance is supposed to herald the end of ages?? Thanks

This has been discussed once before (and it was continuously confused with the sulphur-scented wind that originated from Dragonmount), but I wonder if there's any thoughts on what happened in Malden during the beginning of Knife of Dreams. In the chapter "Something... Strange" Faile (and everyone in the Shaido camp) experiences a strange series of "ripples" in reality, whereby she felt as though she would drift away on a breeze or disappate into mist. From what I understand, this is the same thing that had happened when the Dark One was originally freed during the opening of the Bore, as seen from Rand's POV. However, I feel it's a bit strange to merely dismiss the…

So over the past seven months, I re-read all 12 released books in a row. Originally I was reading New Spring for an open book report at school, but I quickly moved on to the subsequent volumes of the series. Just a few days ago, I finished KoD, the last released book. After I closed the book, I felt...weird. It just felt so much like I needed to continue reading yet there were no more pages. This might be because I'd been used to putting down one book and instantly picking up another, but I think it also has to do with the circumstances surrounding the writing of the final book. This mostly goes out to those poeple who re-read all the books one right after the…

If Rand had Two sangreal, say The Choden Kal and... An un-messed up Callandor. Could he draw through both, or would he be burned to cinder? And also could he condition himself to hold more, a little at a time. I know its possible to draw through more than one *greal. But something that powerful?

Hello ppl, I often read the posts here and I figured this is a forum with a lot of people that have a lot of very good knowledge of what is going on in Randland so I got myself a Question. I check Brandons site kinda regular but I just wonder if anyone knows how far his progress is yet involving the book. He is writing the first Draft... but I have no idea what else should happen afterwards. I apologize for my english but as you probably figured already, it isnt my main language. Regards

I'm on a reread, just starting CoT and noticed that in the prologue we get quite a list of Ajah heads in the Tower. I was wondering if anyone looked in to see if Egwene spent anytime with them in KoD?

So, having just re-read the entire series, I was interested in the "ripple" that occurs in Altara. Not everyone experiences it -- I don't think Mat ever mentions it and he is nearby -- but Perrin's group experiences it (he even comforts Berelain) and so does Faile and her group while in Shaido captivity. What do you guys think it was? Was it just a random indication of Tarmon Gaidon approaching (in the same vein as bubbles of evil) or was it perhaps the Dark Ones' prison beginning to break apart? Theories, anyone?

I just finished reading the chapters "A Question of Treason" and "A Matter of Property" in Winter's Heart and I think that Tuon may have issues with the seeker who chased Eganen out of Ebu Dar.

At the beginning of "A Crown of Swords" Min thinks about a viewing of Rand, in which he needs Moiraine to succeed. She assumes that her viewing is wrong and Moiraine is dead. This confuses me. Min has never been wrong in her entire life, and Moiraine was obviously alive when everyone last saw her going through the doorway. Of course they all assumed she died, but Min has her viewing as evidence to the contrary. Why is it that Min assumes she is wrong rather than (1) Moiraine is not dead or (2) the viewing was right and Rand will definitely fail? It seems to me that Min should either be holding out hope for Moiraine or freaking out.

In LoC Min makes mention of some viewing she had about the Aiel Wiseone Sorilea. I don't have the book with me to post the quote but it seemed to have shocked Min in some way and I was wondering if it was ever told fully, and what the hell it was. Any help would be great here :D Darth_Andrea

Im new here, but here goes. My theory is that Rand and some others probably, use balefire not on the dark one but on the bore through his prison itself. Eliminating the bore altogether. It has been awhile since i have read TFoH, but the scientist Rand had researching it had found a way. When that happens it seals the DO Prison all the way back to the AoL. The ramifications of that are that the DO influence through that time is taken out but as is said on other discussions, thier memories remain. therefore, everyone that was already evil remain evil, and there actions remain the same. When that happens the Age Lace is broken irrevicobly(spelling sorry) the wheel of time…

I’ve had a few thoughts about technology in the WOT universe. Gunpowder. In AMOL, Mat is finally going to have his cannon and this should have a huge impact on the battlefield. There seems too little time before TG to develop muskets or rifles, but maybe muzzle loading pistols? Something hammered together by a blacksmith? I could see Matt packing a brace of single-shot muzzle loading hand cannons. They would go very well with his hat. As to gunpowder, would the Forsaken even know what gunpowder is? They are all from an uber-advanced civilization in the Age of Legends. The shock lance was the weapons of choice in their day. Sword fighting became part of the War o…

Hey Folks, After my first read through of the series, some time ago I must admit to browsing these forums occasionally for anything that rested with my own ideas/theories about the up and coming book(s) and have read a fair few debates and theories on the ever debated Asmodean topic. For myself, I find it hard to ever re-read a series of books as the fact that I know whats going to happen usually removes something from the experience for me, nevertheless I recently began reading WoT again and must say that I certainly don't regret it! Anyway, to the point: Whilst reading Fires of Heaven again, I read through the chapter regarding Asmodean's demise and an…

Well I've been thinking about this for a bit, thinking about the balance shift of power and whatnot, but after a while I think that Perrin made a really awesome deal. Perrin got his wife back at a very minimal cost, and at the same time was able to destroy the Shaido, a big problem to rand and the world. In turn Tylee got about 400 Aiel Channelers. Now at first that seems all well and good, but then I got to thinking, Aiel are notorious for not breaking under extreme torture for days right? So I'm thinking that Seanchan are probably going to have a very, very hard, if not impossible time in 'taming them' to the leash. In the end I fully expect the Aiel to find a way to es…

mid-way through the KOD Rand, loial and co are attacked at Lord Algarin's manor by thousands of trollocks & fades. This seems highly odd to me as we know that one of the forsaken, possibly sammael or one of the others pretending to be him sent this army into the ways. Any of the forsaken must have known that simply sending trollocks & fades against Rand would be unlikely to kill him, especially as they would most likley have known that there were others who could channel with him (Logain, Nynaeve, Cadsuane, aliva etc)especially as whichever of the forsaken it was did not take part in the battle themseleves. This presents the question as to what was th…

Just been rereading Lord of Chaos and Rand went back to close the Waygate with the Ogier and the Aiel. He sets a nasty ward that will only affect Shadowspawn and no human and it makes him sick just thinking about what it will do to them. It also will not kill them instantly so they can move far enough away so others can still fall into the trap. I don't know if Robert Jordan ever described thier death in any thread (and if he did please post it) but I was wondering if we could all use our imaginations and come up with something so horrible that Rand would flinch to use it on Shadowspawn. You can be either serious and come up with something we have now, invent somethi…
