Since Trollocs reproduce by breeding, there must be Trolloc children. I wonder if it's OK for good people (like the protagonists) to kill cute widdle Twollocs. Hard-faced and hard-hearted Lan surely would have no problem with that, but other people might (women especially). edit: the same applies to pregnant female Trollocs.

Who do you think is the best ruler (political, economically, socially)?? The only 3 i can think of worth of note are: Rand, Belerain and Taim Rand: because he is extremely liberal for a dictator e.g. laws apply to all, ect Taim: He built the black tower from nothing and has even assembled a new order insided it and moreover has managed to maintain Rands trust. Belerain: just seems to be competent all round e.g kept Tear out of Mayne, good steward of Carhinien. Logain may join them in AMoL because he to seems to be a very competent leader (no evidence just impressions) Dishonorable mentions for Elaida: pick a reason, any reason. …

  3. SPOILERS THROUGH AROUND BOOK 4 As we know from story evidence, as well as Aes Sedai/Warder knowledge, blades forged by the One Power are unbreakable (aside from something like balefire). How is it, then, that Rand’s blade becomes a melted ruin when he plunges it into Ba’alzamon’s torso, since, as we later learn, Ba’alzamon is really Ishmael? Being Ishamael, a mere human (though a channeler, and a Forsaken [re-]linked[?] to the DO), stabbing him with the power-wrought blade should have had no more affect on the blade than stabbing any other person with it. What theories are there concerning the truth as to why Rand’s first power-wrought blade melted? Did it ha…

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before but i'd like to put it out there anyway. So how strong is Lanfear one power wise? I've read the books and I stil can't put a finger on where she should be in forsaken rankings. For example i've read that she's stronger than all the forsaken except Ishamael. However I read that Rahvin feels he could take her, and also feels that Sammael could take her too. I've also read that Aginor was stronger in the power bar Ishamael also ??? RJ stated that men in general were stronger than women in the OP but how strong is lanfear? Isn't she supposed to be the strongest a female living channeler can be? Seems pretty lame …

Given that I am not sure the DO really wanted to destroy the wheel, since the EoTW was simply pure Saidin that wouldn't really help that much. If he really was trying to destroy the wheel how would he go about it. The following are some of the relevant information to take into account The wheel turns based on a function of saidin and saidar working against each other. Im math terms I would guess you could use x for saidar and y for saidin as a funtion against time. There are 7 ages, but not all ages are the same length. However the wheel is seperated by the 7 spokes that seperate the ages. The age lace of any give age is similar, but not identical to other turn…

I thank the person(s) that took off the porn thread on this site. I appreciate a site where we can have discussions and fun without having to be bombarded with that stuff. I don't have a problem with people looking at that stuff as long as they are of age and they keep it away from minors, but please not on this site. I apologize if I sound preachy that wasn't my intent, I'm just glad it's off in case my kids get on my computer. Thanks

The Wheel of Time turns, and posts come and pass, leaving memories of old posts that become legend. Legend fades to myth and after 9000 posts, myth is long forgotten when the original post that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, new and updated predictions come riding with the wind are rears its ugly head. Hello, I'm new to this site and I wanted to see if some of the predictions I had are common place. I've read the series more times than I will admit and after 45 minutes of searching I have decided that a new post is called for. (sorry :-\ ) I'll start with a few that I can remember and add mo…

Ya know I was talking to my partner tonight about the last book. We got to talking about how we were going to actually read it and I thought it was a interesting question. Myself I'm going to look through the chapter lists and see if I can find where Egwene is attending Elaida cause thats one of the things I want to see so badly I can almost taste it. How will you read AMOL when you first get it in your hand's? Darth_Andrea

Production company Red Eagle Entertainment is launching Red Eagle Games, a Malibu, CA-based game publishing studio devoted to creating video game adaptations of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time fantasy series. Along with Universal Pictures, Red Eagle Entertainment plans to create multiple films based on the books, starting with a major motion pictured based on the series' first novel, The Eye of the World. There are 11 books in the series so far, selling over 44 million copies worldwide so far. A 12th novel is coming from a new writer, since Jordan passed away in 2007. Former IBM executive and Red Eagle Entertainment producer Rick Selvage says that the company…

Some of you know of this book, and who wrote it, but this thread isn't dedicated to Sun Tzu or something like that. If you were to be realistic, in terms with numbers of soldiers in a country (so don't make Mayene have 3.5 million soldiers :)) , and the resources in that country, plus the relations with other countries, how would you organize the defences of your country, and remember, TG is coming up, so be prepared for a trolloc assault too. You can choose any country, and depending on what copuntry you choose, the scenario and difficulty will be different.

This thread is to decide who Gaidal reborn is. I realize a number of threads have discussed this, yet not as in depth or recently. A number of people suggested Olver. To me that cannot be for the following reasons:: -Robert Jordan told so. -The age does not match. -Birgitte might have recognized if he was. Some suggested Elayne's twins. That also to me cannot be. These are my reasons:: -They are born after Birgitte. -They are/will-be physically less developed than Birgitte. -A set of Min's viewings tell that Gaidal reborn is both older and younger. Older in the sense that he was born first. Younger in the sense of physical development. Anyone…

I was thinking about this the last books. Can it be possible that Olver is Gaidal Cain? Ok, the age dont fit, but on the other hand Lanfear is reborned as Cyndane, a grown woman. Tel'aran'rhiod time and the real time are not the same, and maby the happenings did cast Gaidal Cain in to the world 6-9 years earlier than it should do? A crazy thought...but im realy want to know why Olver is in the story, and i think he will be a greath soldier when he grows up, learning from the best.

The strongest circle possible would be one with 35 men and 37 women, I will say 35 Asham'an and 37 Aes Sedai to prevent the "How strong is each one?" question. The choeden kal is the strongest S'angreal ever made, now suppose a Ashaman was wielding the choden kal and 72 channelers rose up to stop him, who would win? The strongest link possible, or the psycho Choeden Kal wielding renegade.

Write here which fights you would like to see/like to have seen. It doesn't necessarily have to be one on one, but I know AMoL has its fair share of potential epic fights lined up. Enjoy!

i did a search and i can't believe noone had brought this up before. in the later books we see that whenever one of the Ta'veren thinks or hear the name of one of the other two, they get a sudden flash of colour before there eyes, sometimes showing what the other one is up too. it seems especially present with Perrin since he is in the company of the Prophet of the Dragon who can't stop talking about Rand for five minutes. can anyone explain why and what those flashes are? and if they are all three together at one place, maybe doing battleplans for TG, will the colour flashes be constant?

I am new to the forum and had a theory about Egeanin. I searched her name in the forum, and she appears nowhere! I believe that Egeanin is the female Seanchan with a sword from Egwene's dream. If so, how will she travel from the Altara-Murandy border to rescue Egwene in Tar Valon? One more thing, who else is dying to see Egwene serve Meidani and Elaida. I pray that this meeting occurs in the prologue, and that the prologue is released online soon...please Brandon...please?

I'd be interested in hearing other people's opinions on Jordan's handling of gender in WoT. It's one of my least favorite aspects of WoT. It sometimes seems like any time two or more women are together, they're whining about men, and whenever two or more men are together, they're whining about women. But maybe the problem isn't a male/female clash but a clash between strong-willed characters, of which there are many. Your thoughts?

  21. Hi everyone I'm going to use this thread as a compliment to the normal DM News page to deliver the latest Memory of Light news. Right now there's not a lot to report. We know this will for sure be the final novel in the main sequence novels. There is no release date, or even a release year. There are A LOT of pplot threads to finish up, but RJ has promised that this is the last book in the story. Based on this, it could be 2007 or later before we read the novel.

Now, wait. Stop. Think this over REALLY good before you answer. The question is not as easy to answer as you might first imagine. It requires being able to access your deepest imagination. Assume that all of this WOT stuff is real and that OUR age has the One Power available for use if we can only discover that it exists. Some lucky soul discovers how to perform Healing. Nothing else. Just Healing. They don't really know what they are doing or how they are doing it (sort of like Nynaeve and her magical use of herbs). But they get to be world renown as a mystical, magical healer. Would you seek healing from that person? Or would you be af…

Reading and rereading the Wheel of Time has led me to ponder RJ's Pattern of Ages. I believe that the Fourth Age is the Age of literal dragons, their creation the end result of the Third Age (and RJ's series-see Aviendha's Children thread). The Fourth Age ends with the destruction of dragons, and the world is broken by ice. I believe that the First Age begins in ice, and transforms into OUR Age. There is no magic. By the late First Age technology reigns supreme. Lenn (John Glenn?) goes to the stars. A nuclear holocaust breaks the world, 'we are become death the destoyer of worlds', and the horn ends the age. The Second Age is the Age of Legends as magic returns to the wor…

If these two were stilled again and healed by Damer Flinn would they be back to their full strength? Do the Aes Sedai realise that if a Woman heals a gentled man and vice versa they restore them to full power? Or havn't they realised it yet? I'd love Suian and leane to get revenge on all those who bossed them around after they were stilled, especially Romanda and Lelaine.

  26. Started by GrandpaG,

Talk about being a part of the "pattern". What would the series have been like if Moraine had never been born? Lan would be dead someplace in the Blight. Matt would be milking cows. Perrin would be a blacksmith. Rand would be a mad channeler like Owen. Nynaeve would be curing people with herbs and listening to the wind. Egwene would have died trying to touch the source. The BA AS in New Spring would never have been defeated. Siuan Sanche would not have had anybody to talk to as a novice. King Laman would have had one less niece. Thom would not have fallen in love with her. Emonds Fielders would not know that they were descendants of Manathere…

After reading new Spring, I thought Lan and Moiraine would make a nice couple. The thought of Thom and Moiraine is just icky. I would have liked to see Nyneave with Juilin Sandar. Or maybe a Rahvin / Nyneave couple.. Except he did not last long. Anyway. I made another WoT movie called "Moiraine's Kiss" based VERY loosely on a scene near the start of The Great Hunt.
