Hi Can't find any evidence of this question getting asked before. When Elayne is sorting through all the junk in PoD or CoS I think and finding lots of terangreal and other junk she comes across a small stoppered glass vial with a red liquid in it. RJ seemed to make a point of mentioning it and it sounds like a Cour'souvra but who would it belong to?

  2. I read most of the WoT books in just a few days and as a result I missed many fine details that I could have picked up if I had been patient enough to lower my pace. I fully intend to give AMOL at least 2 weeks. I hope to read one or two chapters per day. How much time do you intend to give it? It is the last book after all. The longer I spend savouring it, the better its going to be.

This is just open for an arguement, but here it goes: I believe that Rand will kill the DO. Just sealing him away is just asking for the entire series to happen again later. I think Robert Jordan has said in his books that even though things remain pretty much the same on the turning of the wheel, things can turn out majorly different on each turning. It's just my opinion.

I dont understand why all the Aes Sedai get naked when they elect a new Amyrlin, or at least I disagree with their explanation. When they raise Egwene they all strip to the waist to prove "only women are present". I believe it was the Keeper to be (can't remember her name) who tells Egwene that the ceremony use to be heald "clad in the light" because Aes Sedai use to demand more proof no men were present ;) I tried to think of why they would do this. It could be because they don't want to be spied upon, but why target only men if spies were the issue? Women can spy too, and would easily pass this test. They may have been concerned that a crazy man who could chan…

Mat promised Elayne he would see her safely back to Caemlyn. Elayne is certainly back in Caemlyn, but Mat didn't take her nor does he know. And we all know Mat Cauthon ALWAYS keeps his promises... So, will Mat have to bring Elayne back to Caemlyn at some point in aMoL?

Reading through the series just gets better every time I do it. This time through, I've noticed more little things, many of which I find entertaining. One of my favorites is how Nynaeve always complains about new clothes and wearing skimpy outfits, yet she picks them out herself and everyone around her notices how fashion centered she is. It makes me giggle. How about you guys. What quirky little habits or observations have you all made about WoT characters?

I'm just a bit confused sometimes when I read through the threads and people post "RJ confirmed this" or "RJ shot down this theory"... where is everyone seeing all this? Is this throughout his blog or elsewhere? Because I can never seem to find much of anything. Though on that topic did RJ ever clarify if Sea Folk tattoos are colored or just black ink? (Besides the blue star on the right hand) This is something I've always wondered...

  9. I noticed that in the scene where Rand and Co arrive at Rhuidean, Couladin says that Muradin has entered Rhuidean and should Muradin, he (ie Couladin) would enter. Then, Bair tells him that she won't let him go. After that, he says something like "Muradin will come marked as clan chief and he will lead the Shaido to great glory. We mean to-" He cuts off there as though he said more than he intended to. Well now, what did he 'mean to' do? Was the idea of faking the Car'a'carn already in play at this point? I think it unlikely as they required Asmo's help to mark the two dragons. So what gives? And did Couladin know that Asmo is not a mere gleeman? Did Asmo u…

  11. It is quite clear that Rand will die and then return to life. Nicola's fortelling in LOC proves that. Furthermore, the finns' answer to Rand also proves that. My question is, would you accept a person returning to life after dying? Please do not bring religion into this. Personally, I think death is something final that cannot be reversed. The soul seperates from the body. In the WOT- it may enter T'A'R to await rebirth. Reviving a dead person seems like it goes against the Wheel. Rand just wouldn't seem properly alive to me if that happens. I would not find that attractive at all. Unless of course, RJ has planned it such that it goes smoothly along with …

The prologue to AMoL will likely be long, and mostly Jordan's work given how close to completion he made it sound like when he talked about it in his blog. So I was wondering, what will be the focus of this prologue. We usually see point of views from characters that we don't often get to see and that set up action latter in the book or the series. I think therefore that we will see lots of Forsaken POVs, Moridin, Demandred and Messana in particular, perhaps Graendal as well. Through these POVs we'll see their final plans begin to go into motion. What do you guys think will happen in the prologue?

  13. Elaida made quite a fortelling about Rand in Caemlyn. I wonder why she allowed him to leave? She could not have overriden Morgase but she seems to hold a lot of sway. She afterwards searched the entire city and that shows how desperate she was. Surely she could have prevented Rand from leaving the palace? Elaida retains the words that come when he Fortells. So, she could easily have warned Morgase that this man would bring trouble to Andor, so lets keep him for a bit.

I don't get here as often as i'd like to, but there is something bothering me. I think in AMOL we will find that Sammael is alive and still moving about in secret from everyone. I don't remember what book right now, but one of the Forsaken, don't remember which one talks about some of Sammael's commands still being seen to. Then in re-reading WH, I came across the scene where Luc steps out of the dream and kills two people sleeping in a bed. When he goes back and becomes Isam, he sees his patron of the moment. He reports to him that it wasn't Rand or Min. He couldn't see who it was because of a disguise made with the power. The Patron tells him not to tell anyone abo…

In LoC avi tells rand about some of the wise ones dreams, one concerning the bowl. She says the key to finding the bowl is to find 'the one who is no longer'. I think this is refering to setella annan (sp?) Is that the conclusion everyone else has come to?

I'm gonna get yelled at for this. I think that there are actually three things the "Lord of Chaos" could actually be. I do know that it is a message from the DO. It could be that he is reffering to himself; telling his minions to be evil. It could also mean to let Rand rule for the moment while they plot. Honestly, the Dragon Reborn is bound to cause chaos. My last idea is that he's telling them to create chaos. Like when the one Forsaken (i forget which) delivered the letter in Arad Doman. (Sorry, i forget the details.) But, i believe she said something about the DO telling her to create chaos.

My brother and I were arguing about this the other day, so I thought I'd just ask the opinions here. How many times has Mat died, and come back to life? I can think of two, possibly three times right off the top of my head. 1. After his little trip through the red doorframe, and Rand finds and revives him. 2. Rand Balefires Rhavin, reversing time, and saving many of the main characters, including Mat. 3. Now,, this is the one that my brother argued with me about. I think Mat was killed by the saliva of the Darkhound. And when that darkhound was balefired, again, he returned to life via time backtracking. Moiraine makes a comment that had she been a mome…

Besides some people say they would prefer an animated WOT movie so there you go  Main Good Guys: Rand: Bart Simpson Mat: Nelson Muntz (haw-haw Dain got mud on his cloak) Perrin:Kernie Egwene: Lisa Simpson Nynaeve: Marge Simpson Moiraine: Lindsey Nagel Lan: Raineir Wolfcastle (aka McBain) Thom: Krusty the Clown Elayne: Sherri Aviendha: Terri Min: Gretta Wolfcastle Logain: Jimbo Jones Faile: Cookie Kwan Gawyn: Ralph Wiggum Galad: Milhouse VanHouten (both Milhouse and Ralph have had a crush on Lisa) Loial: Comic …

I don’t get why everyone here hates Faile and wants her to die – I’m looking at you Dreadlord. While she’s not my favourite character I do enjoy reading about her. I presume people don’t like the way she treats Perrin? But have you stopped to think how she ACTUALLY treats Perrin? Yes she lied to him about her father’s profession when they first met, but she did this because she had just ran away from home and didn’t want to be associated with her house name – she wanted to be her own women and a hunter of the horn. And all the other stuff people say about how jealous she is and that it’s not fair on Perrin how she treats him in regards to Berelain. We …

I can't for the life of me remember where it was stated, but I recall reading it just the other day searching for quotes, that Moridin (I think) had spies with the Salidar sisters, the white town, and one very close to Rand. Does anyoen remember where that quote was around? which book for reference. I am assuming Salidar is the forsaken with Egewene, and mesena in the white tower, but we as of yet haven't been told who is with Rand. Are there any hints? Second question. A site lists Min as definitely not being a DF, however I can't recall anything that would directly stop her from being one. Her PoVs are more set around making sure Rand is safe rather than worry…

There was a great picture posted years and years ago, I believe on Dragonmount. It was a black and white, pencil I think, though may have had some pen work in it too. It was of the confrontation between Moiraine and Nynaeve at the Inn in Baerlon in Eye of the World, when Nynaeve first joins the group. I think it might also have Lan, Egwene, Rand, Mat, and Perrin in it as well, but I can't remember for sure. The focus was very deffinitely on Moiraine and Nynaeve in it. I've been searching for it for a while, and can't seem to find it anywhere. Anyone else seen it?

  25. This is a topic that has been debated more than once on this board, and I think I've stumbled across some info that will put the issue to rest once and for all. The following is a quote from "The World of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time" more popularly know as "The Big White Book, pg 22: Stilling is usually done as punishment for a crime while burnout occures through overload or misuse of the power, or is the result of LOOSING TO AN ATTACK BY A GREATER POWER WHILE CHANNELING.[/b] To me the part in bold caps sounds an awfull lot like what Rand did to the three AS at Dummi's Wells who were later healed by Damar Flinn. Thus this seems to imply that burnout is i…

At the moment, I'm reading TSR, and it occurred to me that a stedding would be the perfect place for the Children of the Light to set up a permanent base. Does this idea come up in any of the later books? There would of course be logistical problems: How would the Children find a stedding? Most steddings are probably occupied by Ogier There aren't any steddings near Amadicia (or are there?)

OK so I am new too these forums so i don't know if this is in the right spot (i searched it and couldn't find a topic like it.) I was reading the post-cleansing Rand chapters and came across a few interesting things LTT seems to be less mad, i.e. less whining for his dead wife ect. Rand himself points this out at one stage. So i believe that the 9 tasks Nicola predicted for Rand are directly related to LTT failures in his past life. So what are the tasks?? 1) the cleansing is certainly one. Redeeming LTT pride in believing he could fix what the creater made 2) Reuniting the aes sedei. LTT split the AS with his attack on SG 3) Restoring the peop…
