Since there has been foreshadowing about the Ayyad in Cot and Kod they are obviously going to be in AMOL. I believe they will fight on the side of the shadow. Maybe unknowingly. I believe Demandred has been in Shara since LOC manipulating the Ayyad. I also believe that by manipulating them Demandred has created an army as well. Semi has been with the Seanchan and aquired the male a'dam. She could of given it to Demandred for him to give to the Ayyad for them to copy. The male Ayyad make the perfect damane. The males completely trust the female Ayyad and can only do the most simplist activies. Making mix gendr circles for the would be very beneficial to the shadow…

Since they crossed streams there has been a connection. Rand seems to be suffering from the side effects of Moridin using the true power. I wonder how Moridins left hand is doing?

Does anyone think it's odd that Egwene changed her stance on the three oaths. For a long time, she was adament that what is best for the Aes Sedai moving forward is removal of the oaths. She seemed to change her tune on that rather abruptly. Is it Halima's influence? Maybe to keep the Blacks hidden since they cannot give up their "Trinity" for security purposes. Would Halima even care about the BA?

"The blood of the Dragon Reborn on the rocks of Shayol Ghul will free mankind from the Shadow." "His blood on the rocks of Shayol Ghul, washing away the Shadow, sacrifice for man's salvation." " "...... In the Pit of Doom shall his blood free men from the Shadow." Something has been bothering me about this quote for a while and I finally figured out what it is. I don't think "The blood of the Dragon Reborn" or "His blood" is talking about Rand's blood at all. I think it is speaking of the coming birth of his children. I think "his blood", meaning all blood relatives, will be born on the rocks of Shayol Ghul and that event will somehow effect the outcome of…

What does everyone think will be the outcome of TG? In terms of: 1.Whitecloaks 2.Tuantha-Travelling People 3.Sra Folk 4.Nations 1. I believe the Whitecloaks will be bound to the White Tower after TG because the WT doesn't let go of you until it done with you 2.I believe the Travelling People will stop travelling and set up guilds in cities. I believe the general population will begin to repect the People of the Way of The Leaf. 3.I believe the Sea Folk will become something like the East Indian Trading Company. The Sea Folk may have sectors inside cities that on water like China Town. 4.I believe in the 4th Age new nations will emerge. The…

I once thought that she burnt herself out be after a reread of A CROWN OF SWORDS I think other wises. I find this statement and I wonder if she was stilled. "Setalle" Garenia exclaimed as soon as the innkeeper was gone. "That was Senalle Anan? How did she-? Light of Heaven! Even after seventy years, the Tower would-" What does everyone think?

I hope an ordinary person gets bound to the Horn during TG? I hope it will be Jain Farstrider. Or Lan if he dies. Does anyone here think someone will get bound to the Horn when they die at TG?

I am new here. I have only posted once. We all know the Dark One can manipulate mother nature. Dragonmount is an active volcano therefore the Dark One should be able to make it erupt. The Dark One should blow up Dragonmount like Mt. Saint Hellens during the Seanchan attack on the Tower. Every Aes Sedi will be to busy dealing with the Seanchan that they will fail to pay attention to Dragonmount. OR The Dark One should force all the remaining Forsaken to link with the One Power or the True Power to blow up Dragonmount with Earth Singing Talent. The Black Ajah would have to be warned and escape by gateway with Messanna. What do you guys think?

I guess it isn't a secret that the Wheel of Time series borrows quite a bit from real-world history and religion, so I thought I'd ask what your favorite references are. To get the ball rolling, so to speak, I thought that Galad was particularly clever. Not only is he a reference to Galahad, the best of King Arthur's knights, but his name also means "Light" in Sindarin (or Elvish, if you prefer). Considering that, like the elves in the Lord of the Rings, Galad is often described as inhumanly perfect, and considering that he is now the Lord Captain Commander of the Children of the Light, I do not think that this is a coincidence.

In COT, chapter In The Night, I've found something strange. Avi and Egwene are meeting in TAR, Avi coming in place of Elayne. Here is the issue : "She could not make this work," Aviendha said...as she touched the twisted ring that still hung from it's strip of leather..."The flows kept slipping away from her. It is the babes." The ter'angreal they are speaking of requires no channeling. So what's the deal?

All the female Aes Sedai gain the ageless face when using the power for a long time. Do the men that can channel get the ageless look also? I got to the part where Rand first met Taim, and Rand did not mention anything about the man looking ageless. Taim has channeled for around 15 years, and that should be enough, since Moraine has channeled roughly the same amount and has the ageless look. Unless it has to do something with the taint.

in CoS, Egwene says skimming is a great weave because it ensures privacy, 2 people travelling to the same spot from roughly the same place will not see eachother. However, in TSR, rand skims to Rhuidean and sees Asmodean ahead of him. Can anyone explain this? is it a simple mistake on behalf of the Author, or is Egwene wrong?

...Allright, lower the pitchforks people, this is NOT another character concept of mine ;D I was playing a game a few days ago where i came across a character i believed would look good as an Aiel. When i looked closer, the character in question had gold eyes, and since i was thinking about the WoT at the time, it occurred to me that even though we've met quite a few Aiel so far, none of them are mentioned to have anything related to being able to talk to wolves. Sure, i wasn't exactly expecting an organised pack of Wolfkin Aiel to show up and say 'Hi', but statistically speaking there should at least be a couple of them, right? Especially after most of them cro…

I never knew that. I figured they were part of RJ's imagination. Yesterday on the History channel they were talking about bounty hunters. In the old days in England they had trouble with highwaymen. They paid a bounty to "thief-takers" to capture them. Not important, I know. Just thought it was interesting. :)

So, this may be resolved in KoD, I havent read it yet so apologies if so. The last time I saw Shaien, she had Jaichim Carridin being tortured in her basement in Caemlyn, and Daved Hanlon was touching up her servants - who happened to be Aes Sedai. What will be her purpose?

  18. I read a thread on here awhile back about this subject, but couldn't find it. Anyway, this passage in COT (secrets, Egwene's POV) seems to clearly answer the question. "...It was harder to make a novice go slowly when you could not point out that she risked ending her quest for the shawl by burning herself out and losing the power forever." She is speaking about how Leane possesses one of the most recognized faces in the rebel camp, because she was Keeper, then stilled, then Healed and made Aes Sedai again. Seems cut and dry that she is stating there is not a difference between stilling and burning out.

  19. I have been wondering about this for some time. The one thing that stands out most obviously is that since they are not 'exposed' to the One Power in the steddings, that must be the cause for the Longing effects. Have the Seanchan found a way to block their exposer? Maybe it is some hybrid form of stilling that cuts them away from the source - though they can't use it, maybe there is some connection that causes them to be effected by it. Maybe it has some sort of opposite effect it has on humans? Maybe Loial and his wife would benefit from this and continue Outside? Another theory could be that they found a some Ogier who weren't effected and those went on to re…

Honestly of all the other characters in AMOL I really can't say which will live and which will die but I'm pretty sure that Elayne will die. Here's why: It mostly has to do with the way she's been running around all devil-may-care because Min has predicted that she will live to see her children born. Elaye reasons that she cannot be killed because Min's viewings always come true. I really think that this may be forshadowing her ironic death during childbirth. Of couse I don't think it will be due to natural causes, honestly I think Cyndane just might play a role in it (I mean she went all ape-caca over Rand sleeping with Avi, so she can be happy about another wom…

Everything from simply refreshing a person to bringing them back from the brink of death takes time, but how much time? I was debating with some people about the validity of healing times in the Wheel of Time D20 game, and I think that healing should never take as long as 20 or 30 minutes. So what's the consensus on how long healing(both regular and unique cases such as Mat with the dagger or Flinn healing Rands second wound) actually takes?

  22. We have a need to identify certain characters as Darkfriends or otherwise. In my (very personal) opinion, there are a few that are 'dubious' to my mind (and a couple of these are waaaaay beyond being simply dubious; Taim (see what i mean) Sheriam Elaida Weiramon Darlin Danelle Roedran (if we ever meet him) a few others. So, I thought, how can we tell if these people are honest and trustworthy light-followers, or dirty rotten darkfriends? Then it occurred to me that there was a way we could distinguish at least SOME of them as df's... There was a character that was brought into the story, developed and I at least came to really like them.…

I don't know about you guys, but I alwas thought Rand's harem was a bit of a farfetched idea. I mean is it really fair for one guy to have all three of those women and for them to share the love of their life? Or should I say that is it really fair because they're all going to drive him bonkers before TG with all their ridiculousness. I mean they're three really stubborn set in their ways women, 1 Aes Sedai, 1 Wise One in training, and 1 oracle. How does he handle it? I'm a woman and even I don't understand it; I mean he has to deal with 3, well 2, cases of PMS EVERY MONTH.

In the 2nd book we see the Fade Fain killed. Not only did he kill it, he nailed it to a door while it was still alive, if I remember correctly. Do the books explain how he did it? I've re-read all the early books recently and can't remember getting an explanation.

On page in the Shadow Rising: And that fire-haired novice who was going to get herself with child...!Sheriam cut that short- the girl won't even think of men until she has finished her training-but we'd not have known until is was too late without you. Those are Siuan's words directed at Min. Min's viewings are not supposed to fail. But if she saw a vieweing that this girl was to get pregnant, and the tower prevented it from happening, doesnt this mean that the viewing was false? Of course, you can argue that Min actually saw her getting pregnant far in the future so the viewing may still come true but that would make no sense because then the tower needn't hav…

  27. Started by Captain General Miraj,

I believe their should be more shadowspawn. In modern military to take control of the battlefield you must have control of the skies. The War of Power was a modern war. I would of created shadowspawn that can fly called them gargoyles. They would look exactly like Trollocs except be smaller in build and height around 6' and have bat wings that they could fold up when on the fighting on the ground. The gargoyles would carry smaller versions of axes, swords, and spears. The gargoyles would also carry short bows that they could use from the sky. Since the gargoyles are Trollocs with wings they would give birth to flying Myrddraal to command them. My secon…

  28. Who will survive A Memory of Light and who will not? Rand (dies): It is the most logical end, but I feel he will become the new LTT in the next age, though I do like the mad beggar theory. Mat (lives): Loses his eye, but rules with Tuon and lives happily ever after. Perrin (dies): He dies at TG but takes out some serious Forsaken, and kills the Uber-Shade. In the Epilogue, a wolf is born with Perrin's soul. Egwene (lives): She goes on to be the new Amyrlin Seat, rallies the True Tower to aid Rand. Nynaeve (lives): We know this because of her Accepted initiation. She lives a long, happy life with Lan. Elayne (lives): At least long enough …

Apart from just breaking free and killing everyone, that is... Anyway, while a quite ago I wrote a long topic about how the DO is NOT winning. The gist of it is that though the Dark is militarily superior, the Light more than compensates by the preponderance of channelers at their disposal. Unless DO breaks free or reveals some very big and unpleasant surprises, victory for the Light seems easy to achieve. What could a surprise be? 1) Making all Shadowspawn invulnerable to the Power. (An idea inspired by the Darkhounds thread). Then just drown the Westlands in hordes of Trollocs and perhaps jumara packs. 2) The DO's influence grows so strong that the P…
