Who do you imagine WOT characters to be when you read? I imagine... Rand -- a young Tom Cruise. Why not!? Who else could get away w/ having 3 lovers? OK that sounded a little gay...Besides, he was a good warrior/leader in the Last Samurai wasn't he? Just as long you don't imagine him jumping like an idiot on Oprah--but then again that's what Rand might have done had the taint of saidin consumed him, heh, heh. Mat -- that guy who played Shaggy on Scooby Doo. His character in Without a Paddle is the perfect Mat. Perrin -- Heath Ledger (spelling?). Well since Faile, I've started to hate this character so a Brokeback dude would do. Moiraine -- that…

Lord of the Rings was huge Harry Potter is huge. Narnia is huge. Now we have Eragon, (In theaters December 15th :: http://www.eragonmovie.com) the next big paper-to-film fantasy adaptation. Up 'till now, all of these have been major successes. Granted, all three mentioned above have a HUGE fanbase, much more than Eragon or WoT, but the success of the fantasy film series' might still lie with Eragon, a series I must confess I have not even read. If it is a huge success, that keeps the door wide open for any future adaptations [enter WoT here]; if it flops, that will put a tremendous stain on studios shilling out $100million+ for these type of films, a…

In the beginning of TGH when Rand meets with Suian, Verin, and Moiraine there is a little bit of dialogue at the end: Does anyone have any idea what they are talking about. It looks like they did something to him with the One Power, possibly along the lines of compulsion, but that seems unlikely.

The character listing on this site lists all the fades before LOC (when Shaidar Haran is introduced) who smile under Shaidar Haran, because of Alviarin's quote that "Fades never smile. Never." (when she was marked by SH in COT) Except for one. In SR, in the first trolloc attack in the waste by Mat's POV, he almost is killed by a fade who grins as he says "Time to die Hornsounder" (or something like that). His aiel buddies save him and kill the fade. What do you think? Could SH be more powerful than we thought, is Alviarin mistaken, or am I just making a big deal out of a minor error?

I was talking over the series with a friend of mine and she brought something to my attention. In Lord of the Rings, you find out that the story was written by Frodo. Switching back to WOT now. Now I know he was not present the entire time, but he hints that he wants to write on Rand's life, and he can get info on happenings from everyone who was there when he wasn't. I think that it may possibly be forshadowing that the entire story will have been written by Loial. Thats all the evidence that I currently have, but I was just wondering if anyone else thinks that this will happen.

I think by now everyone accepts that Mat is RJ's adaptation of the Norse god Odin. Odin was hanged from the tree of life for knowledge. He had two ravens named thought and memory who were his companions. He carried a spear that doubled as a walking stick and lastly he wore a widebrimmed hat pulled low on one side to cover his missing eye. My original theory had Mat loosing his eye in some bizare marriage custom in order to gain Tuons hand. Well that didnt pan out as I guess even marriage customs in the Imperial family arent that harsh. I now think that his loss of an eye must be tied to the Finns. More the fact that they told him he will "give up half the light of the wor…

I think that Moiraine is already back and that she is a dark sister (Cyndane) here is why. 1. She quickly resorts to forbidden lore and path of least resistance such as using balefire. 2. She seems to have no problem performaing acts that are anathema for other Aes Sedai such as passing Lan's Bond. 3. She mainpulates others with an ease that is inspiring to behold 4. she once told Rand that she could sense the dark ones servants yet she did not sense one of the forsaken when rand "adopted" Asmodean in the Aiel Waste. 5. When she did discover Asmodean she told no one. Not even Rand that she Knew. 6. She had to sense the potential in the girls of the…

Now I do not remember all of their names at the moment but bare with me: Now I do not remember all of their names at the moment but bare with me: Verin states in the Hunt for the Horn that Lord Luc was Tingraine's brother. So Rand's uncle. She also interpreted a dark prophecy that stated that Luc had departed Andor right after Tingraine (Shaiel) left for the waste. But where did he go? The prophecy indicated that Lord Luc waits in the mountains of Dhoom? Why would the prince regent go there? To the shadow itself? Unless he was a darkfriend, and of course, I have more evidence. After Shaiel died upon Dragonmount, Jandiun (Rand’s father) could not forgive him…

I haven't heard anyone speak on potential Black Ajah, Black Asha'man (is this what they are called??) get togethers and the power structures therein. Will they all bond? Will the leader of the Aes Sedai blacks meet up with Mazrim??

In book 3 we see a number of appearances by the forsaken. Specifically, Mat and Egwene both meet Lanfear in the Whte Tower. Do you think they ever realise who it is they met? They both see her again when she has her showdown in FoH, but we never see if it clicked that they had met her before. We also see that Perrin watches a meeting between the Forsaken in tel'aran'rhiod. In chapter 4, Shadow's Sleeping, in that place with thousands of Bridges and towers. Two men meet and argue, then Ishamael turns up and makes that huge fire ball. One of the men must be Bel'al, as he is described as having a puffy sleved coat and white hair. I have never been certain though who the…

Moridin plays an ancient game, with the fisher king. A figure which for the shadow is very power but if controlled by the light is fast and agile. In order to win you have to have the fisher in your possetion and move it to the other side of the game board. Now my question: Is Rand (or LTT) the fisher and is the game connected to the real world? And if so what goal would the shadow need to achive while controlling Rand? Verin once thought that she would "keep the boy alive until it is time for him to die"... Let the specualtions begin...

OK so in TGH when the horn calls all the heros back Artur Hawkwing(spelling?) says we come to the horn blower or something but we follow the banner and makes them put up the dragon banner but then through all the other books it says if the dark blows it it will work for them as well. But do they need the banner too? Can anyone clear this up for me? Thanks!!

Is Egwene's story in it all? I read the insert of the book and it doesn't mention her. Her plot has become my favorite one in the series and would be really disappointed if she's not even mentioned. Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to read the book, I just don't want to be expecting her story and it never come like I did in "The Fires of Heaven" with Perrin.

Ok, so we all know Gawyn hates Rand for 'killing' Morgase, but what about after he finds out Morgase isn't dead? Because in KoD Gawyn's slowly heading back to Camlyn and I assume Morgase is eventually going back home too. So when the whole family's reunited again will Gawyn and his younglings join up with Rand or will he hate him even more because Elayne's pregnant? My guess is he won't like having the Dragon Reborn as a brother-in-law but he seemed to like Rand well enough when they first met and Rand did try to continue the friendship in The Fires of Heaven but I don't know if that's enough to break Gawyn's hatred of Rand. hmmm...

It's been two days since Tsutama Rath received her summons back to the White Tower. Riding through the Braem Wood she gets the image of the White Tower appearing over the horizon flashing through her mind once again, and she smiles. She often dreams of the magnificence of the White Tower, standing tall and glistening in the sun. She had almost forgotten its magnificence in the 15 years since she had been sent away, but now she can see it clear as day. Suddenly she is stopped, unable to move, unable to draw the source, and her eyes start to close. “Blood and Bloody Ashes, Who are you?†Tsutama demands of her captor. Confused over what has happened, but with a n…

The lion sword, the dedicated spear, she who sees beyond. Three on the boat, and he who is dead yet lives. The great battle done, but the world not done with battle. The land divided by the return, and the guardians balance the servants. The future teeters on the edge of a blade. - Nicola (Lord of Chaos, Chapter 14) The very first thing Elaida had ever Foretold, while still an Accepted and had known enough even then to keep to herself was that the Royal line of Andor would be the key to defeating the Dark One in the Last Battle.- Elaida (The Shadow Rising, Chapter 1) The White Tower will be whole again, except for remnants cast out and scorned, whole and stron…

Ok, so more and more parallels are being drawn between Cadsuane and Nynaeve. The fact that they are more powerful then other Aes Sedai. The fact that they don't identify inherently with the Tower, and choose actions that at times are in direct conflict with futhering the Aes Sedai agenda (gaining power). They are both relatively impatient, blunt and unforgiving. The ter'angreals. Cadsuane herself remarks how much Nynaeve reminds her of herself when she was young, before her stay in the Black Hills, and on how she needs to learn the same lessons she herself learnt there. What is suspect is that Nynaeve is being built up to become the next Cadsuane. Concider that Egwene…

Why is the Wheel of Time series not available in E-Book format? If it is, I can't find it anywhere! I would love to be able to read it on my computer, but at this point if I wanted to do that I would need to download an illegal copy even though I own all the books in the series in hardcover and paperback! *sigh*

I have always been interested in "the Lands Beyond the Aiel Waste" and was wondering if they ever talk about them in any major detail in the books. I haven't read Crossroads of Twilight or Knife of Dreams yet, so I wouldn't know about those, but I don't seem to remember any info in the other books. The only info I've found is in that big white reference book they put out. That's pretty neat, but some more info would be cool Thanks!

ok, he mentions he is there to kill his nephew and the wench. So is Lan the main target and Nynaeve an added bonus? Or the other way around? Also in the same book, you are told that Demandred instructed the evil Asha'man to kill Rand if need be....didnt the DO tell the forsaken not to kill him? And, the guy that killed that one asha'man in Far MAdding, Padan Fain?
