Words from this series I found in dictionary gleeman noun minstrel noun peddler noun peddle verb miasma noun unrelated: saidar's witticism goes like this:: The books tell that saidin's has been lost. saidin's I think could go like this: There is no gust so strong that earth and fire cannot contain it, no water so deep that fire cannot evaporate it or earth fill it up. You may comment about these things and/or bring up other topics.

for me it is Elayne, hers is much more interesting, Elayne has more setbacks, more trouble. It is just wholely a better read for me. one of the clinch points is when both got captured, Egwene went because she wanted to (she had a stand-in who could have done the same job sufficiently), Elayne went both because she had too and because she wanted too (she was needed becasue she was most powerful and an additional set of hands in attempting to arrest some criminals)

  4. I mean Suttree set me on this path.(spoilers, spoilers spoilers) what will be the price of the Dragon going to meet his fate or doom at SG because he specifically mentions it in his POV at the end of ToM me and I guess several posters thought and mentioned here on various post that it is going to be the Dragon's peace but what if Suttree is right and it is only a possible future. what if this is not what he asks for? I mean we really do not like Seanchan and we do not want them to inherit this world but what then? then question is what he will ask? I cannot think of anything else. care to comment?

I hate the way the D20 book does weaves, it can be done like the series. Meaning the only limit should be you ability. I'm splitting the powers up by Talents, and the talents by main element. SO, I have a request. Yall wanna throw some Idea about talents at me? This is how I'm formatting the spells. I'm using barriers, meaning that you need to increase your channeling abilities to SAFELY use higher "level" powers. Any deviation from the books in this example were necessarily for game mechanics. Healing- This is the Talent to heal another person completely of any wounds or ailments. Healing is a common Talent amongst Aes Sedai and some Wilders. T…

Recently, while reading WOT (I'm on "Knife of Dreams"), I've finally become conscious of my innability to imagine what it means to look ageless. At first i thought it was sort of synonymous with unchanging youthfulness, but later on a distinction is made about the two when Siuan and Leane. There is probably some material describing agelessness that I either forgot about or didn't read it carefully enough. It's tough for me to keep everything together in a series as massive as WOT. Can anybody give me some quotes, or explain in your own words, what agelessness is supposed to be. Your help would be greatly appreciated, as I am having such a difficult time imagining what it …

  7. I am curious about this because Olver is kinda of a big minor character. And i know he was used to have Mat left behind when the Seachan came and for a little background with the Snake and Foxes game, but is that the purpose of his character? or will he have a major role in the final battle or leading up to it

Hey guys, There's one little thing about the healing of severing/stilling/gentling that I've never seen addressed anywhere that bugs me. Just an idea that I'd love to see some discussion and speculation on. And of course I'm sure it's nothing more than speculation, but it'd still be fun... So Siuan and Leanne were healed by Nynaeve, and because it was done by someone of the same gender, they were not restored back to their full potential. Do you think if they were stilled again, then healed by Flinn, their full potential would be restored? Of course the fear is that they would then just be healed to the new diminished capacity. That thought has long bugged …

Many online reviews say that WOT starts to wane after Shadow Rising. This disturbs me because I am currently finishing up Shadow Rising, and want to have something to look forward to in the rest of the series. Obviously most of you, if not all, think these reviews are BS because if you didn't, it would be extremely unlikely that Dragonmount would ever exist. So, I'm not asking whether you agree or disagree with these reviews, it's quite obvious (at least to me), that you would very much disagree. What I'm looking for is some reassurance. Tell me why these reviews are BS, and why I should go on to book five, and on from there, when I finish Shadow Rising. Think of me as yo…

Oops! I accidentally posted this originally in the social community. I have always been as stickler for who deserves what. I understand that to be a "blademaster" you have to either kill another blademaster in a fair sword to sword fight, or have a pannel of blademasters deem you worthy. However, I had a thought cross my mind while reading about Lan training Rand in Shienar in TGH. Lets say you are training to be a warder. You have not quite reached blademaster status. However, if an Aes Sedai bonds you and you suddenly increase in strength, speed, endurance, and all that other good stuff, and you suddenly are good enough to become a blademaster, are you considered a bl…

Just finished my re-read of Lord of Chaos and i noticed a few lines right at the end of the book, literally the last four lines and i figure that seeing as we're all waiting for jan 8 we made as well hash out to the best of our abilities various concepts and theories that have yet to be explained but which may help fill in the time and keep our appetite's for new reading sated for the time being. (i couldn't find any other posts that mentioned this, however if anyone knows of any could you link please) I beleive that by examining the events that occured during this time frame we could ponder out where exactly demandred is dipping his fingers in. From Demandred's persp…

  13. I decided to start my own thread instead of derailing the already solidly going current Demandred argument. :) It is well established that Demandred seems to think he always plays second fiddle to Lews Therin, and despises it. And an attitude like that can really wreak havoc on a person's perceptions....after all, that is why he went over to the Dark One in the first place when it comes down to it. So I have a suspicion that when Demandred was told to "let the Lord of Chaos rule," he didn't interpret it as most of us did and hear "let Rand run amok." Or any of the myriad other common Theoryland interpretations of that which abound. Perhaps he heard "you will …

As everyone knows, Fain has two great enemies: The Shadow and Rand. Well I was wondering what affect the Moridin-Rand Power Link has on Fain's drive to kill. Obviously his drive to kill Rand is greater than any other character's in the entire series, greater even than the Dark One and the Forsaken, since they occasionally want to turn him instead of killing him. And he also has been shown to go out of his way to torture or maim the Shadow (torturing Myrddraal, Zombie Trolloc, killing the Asha'man in Far Madding...) Now that Rand and Moridin are linked, the only two things he cares about are tied together. We've only seen Fain post-link in one chapter of WH and the prologu…

  15. 1) "What they had learned about the Black Ajah's means of putting someone to the question was as nauseating as it was incredible. Forcing a woman into a circle against her will? Guiding a circle to inflict pain?" KoD, Prologue This questioning was done post-reaffirming Oaths with Talene (if memory serves, it may be one of those within her heart) so I assume that this information is true. We see in TPoD the Windfinder Caire improperly releasing the link so we know that the Aes Sedai indeed do not know everything there is to know about linking (the Aes Sedai do seem to know the proper decorum with links so that it doesn't discomfort them much, but nonetheless...). …

  16. Something that occured to me, but which now don't seem as plausible, was the thought of who you are when you go through the glass columns in Rhuidean. Just thinking about how I should form this post, I come to think of more evidence that my first thoughts on the matter is false, but heck, I like starting new posts My first thought was if you see what your previous incarnations have seen, or if you see what your blood-relatives see, but after Aviendhas last trip into the future (or maybe back to the previous time this age was around) I believe she reflect on who's eyes she saw through. I just cant say for sure if she saw through the eyes of her daughters or grandd…

I've been thinking about Moridin and how in my opinion after his reincarnation he's become even more awesome than before (although Ishamael was one bad ass mofo in his own right) which lead me to the question: Resurrection in WoT universe; How does it work? From what we've seen the forsaken whom have been resurrected so they can continue to be useful to the Dark One, not so coincidentally also called 'The Lord of the Grave', have all been resurrected in new bodies which leads to my main question, how they get these bodies. I can see three possibilities: 1) The Dark One(or possibly Shaidar Haran or some other entity) rips the soul of one of the prisoner's used to m…

So I was looking around the WOTFAQ, catching up on random tidbits, when I came across the article listing everyone's age. It says that Faile is "of an age with Ewin Finngar" who was said to be 14 at the start of EoTW. It's been about two years or so since then, making both Ewin and Faile about 16. You see where I'm going with this. Perrin's straight cradle robbing here. Dude is married to a sixteen year old girl. That's just creepy.

We are all aware that Rand is an extremely powerful ta'veren. We know that he is as strong a ta'veren as Hawkwing was, if not stronger. (I personally believe him to be stronger, Moiraine doesn't know everything). My question is about the nature of Perrin's ta'veren nature in conjunction to Mats. Perrin, thus far, has not shown his ability or purpose as clearly as Mat has which is strange considering how late we are in the series. I know that there are several popular theories about him because of this (reforming the seals etc) but that is not what seems strange to me. What I want to know is why he shows his ta'veren nature in more subtle ways (with the exception o…

  20. I have been meaning to post something about this for some time and I just keep forgetting to do it, so I thought I would just do it now and get it over with. In TFoH after Birgitte is torn out of Tel'aran'rhiod and is talking to Elayne about being bonded she calls Elayne the Daughter Heir of Andor. Later in the book Birgitte upbrades her about the need to bend the trueth saying something along the lines of "Tell that women you were the daughter to a Queen..." and then agian later in the book when Nyneave says something about not being in her mother's palace Birgitte is aghast "You mean you Really are the daughter heir of Andor..." Anyway it's always bothered me that she …

  21. Well first off, I'm new here, so Hi all! Anyways, I'm starting my reread of the series, and I haven't read any WoT in maybe 10 months, so I'm sorry if this was answered somewhere in the books. And if they are, would Rand be? He doesn't really follow any of the rules the most Warders do, but he might be bound to the oaths now...

  23. Why do the three main characters have the powers they do, aside from being Ta’veren? Starting my re-read through (and going slowly) I enjoy reading how the three Ta’veren are experiencing the beginnings of their individual powers. From the time the group is split up crossing the river, we see Rand and his post-early-channelling highs and sickness. Perrin’s fortuities meeting with the wolves (as well as other major foreshadowings), and Mat under the thrall of the SL dagger. I am struck by how these powers are reflected in their dreams. All three shared the same dreams of Ba’alzamon trying to determine which of the three is The Dragon, and once Morainne’s prote…

I was wondering if anyone knew a location that had ALL the chapter icons gathered in one spot. The compilation of them on this site seems fairly thin, and I was hoping to not have to scan them all in to get what I need, and a quick google search hasn't yielded results. Thanks.

  25. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_(mythology)#History_of_the_myth Its just something that confuses me. the series has a major them of men and women working together to achieve common goals [circles larger than thirteen, healing severing, etc.] so why is there no female counterpart to the dragon. I used the term phoenix becuase of the info above and the sries use of eastern mythology, so the term makes sense to me.

If anyone's interested in buying prints of the WoT e-book covers, some of the artists are now selling them through their personal websites. Tor has also produced a few prints for contests and special events that seem to be selling for very high prices, so this might be your best chance of putting some WoT e-book cover art on your wall. The Path of Daggers by Julie Bell Price: 8 x 10 - $30, 11 x 14 - $50, 12 x 18 - $70, 18 x 24 - $150 The Gathering Storm by Todd Lockwood Price: 8.5 x 11 - $15, 14 x 15 - $60. I'll update this post with more links if I find any.

I have never come across any explanation whatsoever.
