I am a child of the 80's - born in 1968. In any case, 80's rock/pop are my kind of music. Favorite is Phil Collins/Genesis. But also like Foreigner, Journey, Van Halen, Heart, etc... One thing I noticed recently. I used to like Billy Joel in the 80's and was indifferent to Tom Petty. Complete switch. Now I can't stand Billy Joel and really enjoy Tom Petty. Anyone else notice a similar change for themselves as the years wear on?

I just put up our new fake fir tree and though it does not quite match a Bob Ross painting, it is quite lovely despite not being real. Looking forward to decorating it. I am also putting up some christmas lights in the window, which will be difficult. But I am not going full Christmas Vacation like the Griswolds. That is one of our traditions, more or less: to watch that National Lampoon film again. Also: I happen to really enjoy the Bottom christmas episode, where two flatmates hopelessly try to have a traditional English christmas, which ends in a pudding covered in vodka-butter on fire, and an abandoned baby on the doorstep that turns out was not abandoned. …

Hello everyone. How are you? This s my first post in this forum. And I don't know this is the right place or not to post this. But I hope I will get a better suggestion from you. I am playing "The Wheel Of Time" on Steam. it's a great game for me, hopefully, others also. But my problem is little different types. I am suffering from an issue with my Steam. Because I am unable to change the Profile picture of my Steam account. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? If any solution for this please share me.

  6. Macmillan Audio has released an 8-minute sample of Rosamund Pike reading The Eye of the World. It can be listened to now on Soundcloud: As previously reported, this new recording from Rosamund Pike (who plays Moiraine in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video TV show) will become available on November 16. This new performance of The Eye of the World does not replace the older, more familiar versions read by Michael Kramer and Kate Reading. Those recording will also remain available. The clear intent behind this new performance is to bring in a new audience of readers to experience the story for the first time. Roasmund Pike is an experienc…

Good afternoon, my friends! For my first back, I would like to know how many of you really love metal and and any W.O.T. bands or songs! One source I personally use is Metal Archives. Still, there does not appear to be many bands dedicated to our beloved series. I did however find some that are very interesting! Lavos Beckon This is a friendly entrance into the world of metal without being off putting. MSHDR Oh my! Now this is something else! And besides Blind Guardian's At the Edge of Time album, does anyone else know of any other bands or son…

I know there was once an official WoT TTRPG by Wizard's of The Coast. Sadly, it is near impossible to find it as a PDF and hardcopies of the book run about $500 because they have been out of print so long. I know there is 5e conversion for play in WoT setting, but, truth be told, I'm not a huge fan of 5e. I'm curious if anyone has played in WoT with a different game system like GURPS or something and how it went. Cheers. N.

Hi all, I'm reading The Shadow Rising for the first time and really like reading out loud. I've been steaming live readings of some of the chapters here and there. Come check it out some time on my Twitch channel. . . I'm not a professional reader or anything, so sorta muddle through it, but it's just something I enjoy doing. https://www.twitch.tv/norrrs

  11. Hey all, I read the first 3 WoT books years ago. The show has inspired me to pick up book 4. As I've read, I had this thought to write little companions for each chapter that reference the show as well as the books. Most people here will be fans and have read all the books (or at least that's my guess), but thought some people may enjoy this. Cheers! Reading The Wheel

Why does my Chrome browser want me to install a Dragonmount App? What does it do? Does Dragonmount have a mobile app from which i can continue to throw spam while leading an active lifestyle? Or a Discord? Edit: found the discord!

  13. Episode 4 of Amazon Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time television show is aptly named “The Dragon Reborn.” When the episode titles were announced, I was convinced showrunner Rafe Judkins was racing through The Eye of the World with the first four episodes and wrapping up The Great Hunt with the last four. I am glad my hypothesis was so far from what Judkins delivered. “The Dragon Reborn” begins with a flashback of Logain Ablar, the self-proclaimed Dragon Reborn, as he ravages the king’s palace in Ghealdan. I love the first view we get of Logain as he comes into focus—similar to Moiraine’s introduction in the first episode. Logain’s calm and collected, very much…

  15. What an amazing time to be a Wheel of Time fan! Amazon Prime Video debuted the first two episodes in select cities yesterday and many fans already got their first view of this new part of fandom life. For those less fortunate, we do have plenty of content to tide you over until the official release of the first three episodes this Friday, November 19th. First up, Thom DeSimone on The Wheel of Time Community Show has a completely spoiler-free first take of what we’ve been allowed to watch so far. GQ had released some new images and new insight into the Amazon Prime Wheel of Time television show. Senior staff writer Zach Baron shares his own journey through the realms of fantasy fiction and sums up the challenges and boons the show faces. The obvious benefit for the show, Baron states, is it’s following in the footsteps of Game of Thrones. The HBO blockbuster opened the floodgates for demands for more fantasy. Baron says, “It's no wonder television has come to love fantasy—both are mediums without any set end, mediums that thrive on near endless renewal.” And viewers are looking for the next new world to escape into. …

Anyone else suffering through the joy of braces? ? I had a severe overbite (it was at 110% according to the orthodontist!), but I never went to the dentist as a kid, and it never really affected me until my late twenties, so nothing was ever done about it. But when it started to give me consistent pain inside my ears, I figured it was only going to get worse as I got older, so a year ago I got them as an adult. It was awful for the first couple of months, and my first visit to get them tightened was excruciating ? it's gotten better though and I've gotten used to them. There are certain things I can do already without pain and they've been worth it…

  20. Setting up RPG site. How can I do it?

  21. Asking for a friend. Well, my guy and me love playing D&D. We have several different systems that we tried aside from the standard D&D system. We even dabbled in creating our own, that did not rely on a GM but used dice rolls to determine events. So WoT is a richer world than any I have encountered in fantasy - with the possible exception of LotR. I think it has potential for playing a dice/pen/paper game. Are there any that anyone is aware of?

Hi Everyone, Usually I only post on the TV show Forum, so my username may be unfamiliar to a lot of you, but I wanted to let the Dragonmount community (which is the only social site I am a part of) know that I just published a couple of books that might find a warm welcome among WOT fans. (I never would have started writing if I had not stumbled across The Eye of the World when I was 16.) The first book, The Alleys of Olde Architecture: Vol. I—A Key for Every Lock is a mind-bending, dark fantasy that skirts the line between YA and Adult. If you are anything like me and you used to scour the Wheel of Time theory posts at Wotmania back in the day, or…

  25. In 2019, a group project was put forward in the JordanCon Costumers Facebook group. The idea--suggested by Christine Wessling--was to create a quilt. Each block of the quilt would represent one of the books with The Wheel of Time, and each block would be created by a different crafter. The idea was quickly embraced by many in the group and the books were snagged! Here are the details from JordanCon: I feel so fortunate that I was able to contribute to this project! I knew I wanted to make my love of Lan and Nynaeve apparent, so I picked Knife of Dreams. There are so many wonderful Lan and Nynaeve moments--when Nynaeve breaks her block, her …

  28. In this story, Robert Endicott comes from a family gifted with heraldry—a sort of foretelling for people, places, and things. This innate ability gets him noticed as a possible student for the Duchess’s New School, a program that teaches dynamics, a form of magic that derives from shifting probability and the physics of thermodynamics. As Endicott and his classmates get further into their training, they learn that the New School’s not as safe as they thought. The previous year’s trainees suffered fatalities in their studies and the courses this year aim to keep the students from the same mistakes. To make matters worse, rumors of Nimrheal—a myt…

  29. Dear Dragonmount community, Is there anyone out there that can explain to me why almost every single book of the Drenai Saga by David Gemmell, has a different 'Cover Art Style' (Title Position/Size, Author Name Size/Position, Picture style)? I love collecting fantasy books almost as much as reading them. The Drenai Saga has almost always a different spine art, and cover art style for every book, and that definitely looks awkward in my bookshelf! :/ I ended up returning all my orders from Amazon until I find out if there is a way to order these books with consistent "Cover Art Styles"! Does anyone know of a book seller that provides this saga with consistent "…
