Okay, so this is kind of an old question, but since I can't get the search function to work right now, I just thought I'd revisit. Feel free to add any characters you think you could cast, and the actor you'd select to portray them in the movie if you had an unlimited budget and every actor on the planet chomping at the bit to be in the movie. Rand - This is always tough, because so few young actors are six-foot-five. Sure, some actors could be made to be 6'5" with camera tricks, but they still have to look young enough to portray someone who is only about 18 when the series opens. That seriously limits the choices. Hair can be dyed, so they need not be an actual…

How come no one has read this book. Of all my time here, I have never heard of it. One day, A kid came up to me while I was reading the great hunt raving about this book. I got for Christmas, and am almost done. All I can say is it's the perfect ration of witty to vulgar humor, mixed with a good plot and action. -Rin

Gosh that Pe-Zissed me off. Alot. 2 Oy, in The Dark Tower ... Hello, I thought I would bounce this off of board members for ideas - I have a 5 and 6 yr old that love books and Princesses (thanks to Disney and the various Barbie movies:)). My wife and I read to them regularly - but its the typcial Dr Suess or other children's picture books. I would like to start reading 'full' stories to them, but about the only thing I can find age appropraite are the Winnie the Pooh stories. I don't think they are ready for either Harry Potter or the Chronicals on Narnia. I was hoping to find a story book for 1001 Arabian Nights at both Barnes and Noble and Borders but struck-out. The closest thing I can find is a story book b…

Hi there, I'm considering getting a tattoo and the thought crossed my mind of getting a WoT based tattoo. I like the wheel with the serpents, shaped like the symbol for infinity. Not only because it is related to WoT and in tribute to RJ's great work. Also, I think it has a meaning in real life too. History does seem to repeat itself, just like the Ages come and pass...until the age that gave it birth comes again :-). What I mean is not only history here on earth, but on a grander scale. Stars die to give birth to other stars which in turn can give birth to new planets. The universe is a never ending circle, infinitely large. Well, I disgress. What I actually wa…

HEy Been reading it since December after WOT Gathering Storm. Its been alright so far. Currently at "The Gathering Storm" of this series. Alain and Stronghand/Fifth Sun are my most favourite followed by Sanglant. Hugh is one deep anti character. Anyway, just thought ill post a thread about it. No spoilers past book 4 please. :)

Hello everybody, this is my first "general discussion" post, I'm usually busy posting over at the Wheel of Time Gathering Storm Spoilers board. Anyway, I'm a huge fan of the television series LOST, and I would love to discuss it with like-minded WoT fans who also enjoy the show. I would love to discuss it based on the most recent episode (currently 6.04 "The Substitute"). My first thought/discussion idea. Could it be that the "candidates" aren't to replace Jacob, but they are actually "candidates" to replace the MIB (Man in Black; aka. Flocke, UnLocke, NotLocke, Man in Locke, Smokey, Smocke, etc...) Why can't the just give us a name for this guy already? …

The two groups of Tinkers have been camped for a couple of days together in the Circle of Union. The young women have been coached concerning their dance to attract a man. The Central Fire has been added to...it now gives off a glorious light. Tonight's party will be the highlight of the Meeting. Lots of good food, music, dancing...BYOB. Of course, I'll post. So should you. Release your "inner Tinker". Think up a scene that you imagine will take place at the celebration tonight. For those of you with a darker side, maybe you could rob all of the Tinkers while they're busy dancing or maybe kill all of their mules? Use your …

Ladies and Gents, it's that time of the year again! It is the time to take a step back from congregating, chatting, role playing, discussing and spamming, so we can honor the top notch members of the year of 2009, with the Empy Awards! A little history before I get into the nomination process. The Empys started back in 2004, as a community based award. But the award branched out and for the last two years it has been expanded to include additional categories. This year, the categories have been reexamined once again, to deliver an even more full and exciting experience of DM's very own prestigious awards. Nomination time is officially OPEN. Please go to th…

I am looking for a new series to read and since I have started playing Age of Conan I decided I would start reading some of the books it is based off of. Since I am familiar with Jordan's writing style do you all think I would be better off starting with his series or going with the originals by Howard? And if Anyone has read either series I would love to hear what you all think of them.

Ok this is really random but I'm curious.....I was reading the first book of A Song of Ice and Fire and there was a part where cold milk was served sweetened with honey. How is that possible, honey is gooey and would only sit at the bottom of the cup and not add any flavor...how can you sweeten with honey when it globs at the bottom??

  25. LINK Thats a linkypoo to a screen of Mat's signet ring - I'd love to get a tattoo based on that, but I don't want it to look like its a tattoo of a ring. Oval shape etc. If anyone has any ideas for a cool design based on the fox, raven, and moons, please sketch them up and upload them!! I'd be forever grateful and Bela will bestow upon you some blessed oats. If it matters I want this on my upper arm.
