I haven't heard anything so don't let the subject fool you. I was more just wanting to get a word out in the world that it would be so incredible if someone were to take the books and turn them into a movie. I realize how many books there are....but, if you think about it, Mr. Jordan (RIP, you will be missed) went into great detail about the surroundings in the whole series. So, if you look at it through my eyes, you could probably fit two or three books into one movie. At least, I think it could be done that way. Weather or not people would agree, is another matter. But don't other people think it would make for a great movie series? I even thought of a great song…

so this might be a burned out subject, but when you come down to it everyone here is dedicated to the legacy of Robert Jordan. I have recently finished "Elantris" and thoroughly enjoyed it. I felt that that the characters were developed (even more impressively for being a one novel series) and the plot was gripping enough to merit my respect. Any other new comers to the Sanderson fan club purely because of the Jordan connection. I for one have faith in Sanderson's ability to bring it home.

Most of you with eyes and have seen my avvy and siggy know I am a serious Green Lantern comic fan. That being said when it was announced that Warner Brothers was fast tracking a GL movie I nearly wet myself. In the last couple of months the concept art that was with the original studio pitch and more recently a first draft script have been leaked. I am including the link to download the PDF for the script and you can see the images I have included. Just for those who don't know what this is all about. The Green Lantern Corps are a group of Intergalactic Space Cops, They were created by Immortal beings called The Guardians Of The Universe the Corps is made up o…

  10. ATC - Normal… What? Dear All Chosen, I know this might be a tough question to answer, but I thought I might ask it anyway: What were you people like when you were just ordinary people before deciding to serving under The Dark One? There is a very exciting chess world championship match going on, between the defending champion Viswanathan Anand of India and Vladimir Kramnik of Russia. The match is best of 12 games, with tie-breaks in case of a tie. The prize fund is 1,5 million euros which will be split equally. Kramnik seeks to regain the title he lost in the world championship tournament last year, while Anand seeks to cement his place among the great by holding his title against his predecessor in a match, as this is the tradition. The line of chess world champions extends to 1886, the line running Steinitz, Lasker, Capablanca, Alekhine, Euwe, Botvinnik, Smyslov, Tal, Petrosian, Spassky, Fischer,…

  12. Hey, guys. Most of you know me just as the guy who's always right on the Debates and Discussions board. (That's right, Maj, always. Eventually, you'll recognize that :P). I'm also the community admin, responsible for modding policy on the Comm. boards (General, D&D, Fiddles and Organized Games). Just wanted to get your input on two things. First of all, the policy for dealing with site issues you think need mod attention. As a general rule, I've found that people tend to be a lot easier to deal with when they don't feel like they need to defend themselves against a public attack. When things are public, it often turns into a fight, with two sides; when th…

  13. Started by RAND AL THOR,

Has anyone else tried it? I've found it to be faster than IE and M Firefox. Also, the bookmark Bar is quite useful as I always use bookmarks and its one click less now since I dont have to click on 'bookmarks' before clicking on the specific bookmark (I know it sounds awfully lazy but I really do use bookmarks all the time and this is a significant improvement). I like the easy way you can use tabs. It is easier than Firefox. One huge disadvantage which may just stop me from using it is this: It is not letting me scroll with the mouse wheel held down. I can scroll fine by turning the wheel but I don't like doing that as the page jumps down in bits. Hol…

I was once asked if I wrote my posts here at DM or if I used word (or some like product) and then copied and pasted to DM. The answer is the same now as it was then, almost all of my posts are written here at DM. There have been exceptions of course, my Silly wars stories were written in word, as were most of my AoL high stories (the original AoL high was written straight off the dome on DM one day based on a brief moment of inspiration (also AoL high has been officially canceled due to a complete lack of reader interest. Maybe someday years from now I'll revisit them, failing that I hoped those of you who read them enjoyed them). In olden times my Darkwood tales were…

Ten years ago today I sat in my college dorm room and searched for information on Robert Jordan's "The Wheel of Time" series, and happened to find a site that was launching called Dragonmount. That was the day I chose my new name and began my involvement in the fan community. In an odd twist of fate, and unknown to me at the time, that day was also Jim Rigney's 50th birthday. Though I'm not very active at DM right now, I wanted to post and let you all know how much I appreciate this community. It has shaped my life in ways that I could not have imagined at the time, and I'm so grateful I found it. I hope that each of you that are enjoying similar celebrations as …

  16. Robert Jordan’s 60th Birthday Today, October 17th, would have marked Robert Jordan’s 60th birthday. We miss you, RJ. http://www.dragonmount.com/News/?p=371

Before RJ announced his illness, I had picked up the domain names for Infinity of Heaven, what would have been his next series. I had hoped to build a fan site for those books, but that series will never be written. The domain names are all about to expire within the next 4 days. Before I let them lapse, I was wondering if there was anyone here in the WOT community that is interested in them. I'm not looking to sell them, they are free to a good home. They will need to be renewed by the new owners, but I will transfer them out of my GoDaddy account to anyone who might want them. -E

Hey all. I'm hoping someone here can help me. I have Internet access on a cell phone that is full web capable so doesn't get automatically redirected to the mobile version of websites. This is great most of the time. The problem is that at work my signal is so weak that loading regular DM takes forever because of the images and I can't turn them off in my browser. Now I know that DM has a mobile web version but I ca t remember the URL for it. Can anyone help me out?

  19. I got to get as large a sample size as possible to take this survey I made, so I can analyze the results. I appreciate it if you take it. I won't mention your real or internet names to anyone off this website, I'll just use the results. My class is on satire btw, so don't try and make any inferences about me by the questions I ask ;) Your Gender: Your Age: Your political affiliation (Dem Rep None Other Decline): Do you think censorship is sometimes ok? yes/no Is pornography an artform? yes/no Should pornography be banned from the internet? yes/no Does art transcend morality? yes/no Personal Response: What (if anything) distinguishes…

  20. ATC - What did I used to do? Dear Chosen, Before you “Chosen” volunteered to serve the Dark One, what was it like before you submitted yourself. First off I need to make me a country music playlist as a background for this here report. Because that's how the kid does, that's where I'm at in life. Three of the six songs on the heaviest of rotation on the media player lately are country (Stay by Sugarland, Home by Blake Shelton, I'm movin' on by Rascall Flatts (what can I say, it's depressing and I like it)) So I'm going to go make a playlist. Oh and I need to text Cads. Done, and Done. I accidentally broke my earphones as I got up to grab my cell phone by the way, so I had to grab an old pair that only has one working earpiece. Now I only have half the surround sound experience. Bah, Bah I say. …

I am not sure where to post this. I told some information about me in my first post. Here is link to the thread:: http://forums.dragonmount.com/index.php/topic,35429.0.html Some more info:: I have written a number of poems and stories. They can be accessed through this blog:: http://mdbexpressions.blogspot.com/ The stories have a sub-title, the poems do not. For the most part, I try to not base stories on anything (my personal life, life in general, what I read to the time, etc). Poetry would at most have allusions to the Bible. A number of my stories may seem a bit morbid. During my high school, middle school, and elementary school year…

I lost my collection of WOT books in Katrina. Finally finding myself with a bit more free time recently, I've decided to reread the series in anticipation of the new book. I bought my new book one from B&N and found a portion of the book printed upside down. A span of about 30 pages is flipped over. Each page is not separately inverted, but rather, the entire section is upside down. Visually, I read to the misprint and then had to flip the book over, shift 30 or so pages and read back toward the front of the book. Has anyone else noticed this on a wide scale or is this unique?
