I haven't been here that long so I don't know if this question has been posed before. But here goes nothing: Do you think Robert Jordan reads this stuff and uses some ideas that some topics have posed? I mean it might sound really dumb, but, really, I wouldn't mind some of the ideas I've heard here in the book. If this question has already been posed just tell me. I just want to know what you all think.

Hello, Tess here to tell you about the new changes and improvements to our Aiel Org! Our first major change is to the actual rank structure of the Org itself. Some of the new changes we've implemented include: * No more clans for the Wise Ones. All Wise Ones are considered to be in the same "Dragonmount Clan" so to speak ;) It sticks with the structure of the books better and works better for the Org. The entire group will be led by Ell, Alarwyn and Jaydena. * There are now 2 societies instead of four. Ok, I appologise to all those of you who does not concern this because this is actually aimed at the Site Administrators and staff. But there isn't an actual board that allows us to aim posts directly to the admins, so I'm sort of forced to do it here. The entire community of DM recently and on several occasions were confronted with the loss of a lot of their posts, causing no end of trouble and frustration in a variety of aspects. Then we changed servers supposedly to get an end to the porn spamming. Result? loss of weeks of work, frustration on a monthly basis, fleight towards offboards increasing, anti-DM board feelings increasing, motivation droppin…

Films, TV, Books, Games and so on. I'll put up Event Horizon right now, only film EVER to give me the creeps and i've seen em all. I'd say more but i gotta post more before i go to work :cry:

Either for a fancy leatherbound copy, or for an advance copy, how much would you be willing to pay for either of those? Myself, not a penny, I'll happily wait until release and buy a regular hardcover. Barm

I don't know if this is the right place to put it, but I have a suggestion. I think that there should be something to click on in your profile that will put up something to show seomeones gender(If they want). It would save many people embarrasment and ackward situations.

I just learned that Philip Pullman's His Dark Material's Trilogy is coming to the movie screen. Should be interesting to see how well the director and writers transfer it. Eragon, The Harry Potter movies, and even Lord of the Rings left out or changed parts of the books for the movie. The worst was Eragon. Take a book with very little original thought to begin with, and see it hacked up on screen. I struggled to make myself sit through the whole thing. Anyhow, I think, "The Golden Compass"(or "Northern Lights" depending on where you are) should transfer well to cinema. Hey everyone. Another newbie here, so if this questions is annoying or forsaken around here - delete it. Anyway, I'm looking for copies of autographed WoT books and I'm starting from scratch. There's currently an auction on Ebay for the first 8 and the index. I'm watching it and it seems to be at a decent price, a little over 220 bucks. What's the most I should pay for them? What is the standard that they go for? I know first editions are valuable so I should really take advantage of them when I see them. I've watched the auctions for about a month or 2 and there never really go in big clumps like this so I figure its a good chance to jump on. I'd post …

Just wondering what everyone's take is on the Tolkien book that is going to be released next month. Children of Hurin was never completed by Tolkien himself. Tolkien's son put the notes together and used them to finish the book. The book is scheduled to be released on April 17th.

Okay, call me a little bit of a skeptic here. I understand the need to ban spammers, but wouldn't something that at the very least curbed their ability to post automatically (like a captcha) work better than an arbitrary number. Plus, are the links the real problem, or the fact that spammers are posting anything?

I've read all the books once, and now i am funnling knowledge to my friends by giving him each book to read as he progresses through the series. I ask him pretty much where he is in the books, and he tells me, but every time he does i just end up getting confused so i declared that i need to re-read all his books to end my confusal. (and just for the pleasure of emmersing myself in the storyline for a second time)

Alright, one of DM's staff members broke the server yesterday and ate all our posts. Each day, we'll vote on which one we think did it. Anyone read the series by robin hobb? i think its the only series that can come close to RJ, it and terry goodkind's books.

Are people still into the RP thing around here? I was wondering. just wasn't too sure about how to go about it and was interested. Never done that sort of thing before, and would not how to start. I've read the board about character approval and all. But not sure how to go about things after that. If I'm interested in the Band of the Red Hand do I send my CP straight to them, or what? Anyone deal with this at the worse time? I just finished writing my essay - I always leave it to the last minute because I cannot work without the pressure - and now my head feels empty.
