I have tried to read everything during RJ's journey. I haven't seen any reference to whether he is writing or not. I imagine there are times when he is unable, but I am wondering if he is trying to write during this time or if he is going to wait until his battle is over.

Soon to be published author Pat Rothfuss (you can find a review of his brilliant debut novel here: The Name of the Wind ) has generously agreed to spend some time with us discussing the craft and business of writing starting (tentatively) this Friday the 24th. Aside from writing one of the best books I've read in a while, Pat is an associate professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, writes a satire column for the university's newspaper called Your College Survival Guide (which he began while he was a student and published in book form as Your Annotated Illustrated College Survival Guide) and is one hairy dude (click the link to the thread be…

Well, I finally started it. It's quite good, but I sort of wish that he wouldn't go into so much detail about the sexual things.

I have not posted in some time, but I did not want to wander in on the spoilers that are here and there until I could finish all but the 12th unpublished book. All I can say is absolutely stunning! I have read many other authors but all pale in comparison to Robert Jordan. Mother, please tell me that the final book will be released before Tarmon Gai'don.

Last wednesday, along with today, and next wednesday, The Discovery Channel is doing a series on Future Cars. all kinds of new innovative ideas for transportation. from superfast cars, to H2 fuel cell cars that can go 0-60 in 3 secconds, to flying cars...I think thats tonight. One guy just streamlined the 18wheeler, and made it 50% more efficient. just a body change, no engine modification. they have a lot of emphasis on more efficient and convienent forms of mass transit. We have cars that can parallel park themselves, in 10 years driving will be a think of 'The Dark Ages'. Theres way too much cool stuff for me to relate. I just wanted everyon…

I hate Chicagoland weather. In particular, the way the wind naturally piles up snow into drifts nearly knee high. I am not a tall woman. Even more specific, how the apartment snowplower just zooms through the parkinglot and clears a path so people can drive out - but piles the snow BEHIND THE ENDS OF THE CARS in the process. In some cases burying them even more. Man, that sucks. That is *all*. *grumbles, after having to dig out Hubby's car for work today*

  13. Come one, come all... I'm going to run a heroes themed Mafia game on the Seanchan board... if you like the show Heroes, just want a reason to hang out with the Seanchan, or have a boring desk job, this is the game for you! I'd ask you only to join the game if you will have regular internet access as it is more fun when a lot of people are participating! http://www.dragonmount.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=334446#334446

A few days ago I saw this Swedish movie call Ondskan. It was billed as "High School Version of Fight Club" Which is why I rented it. It was okay but Fight Club it aint. Is this typical Swedish Cinema? There were parts I didn't understand, but I thought it was a Swedish thing, like Sixth Form, it sounded more like a martial arts thing to me.

Wow! What busy little bees we've been. =) A few days ago, prompted by the discussion some of you had about the proper place of siggie requests here, I had a loooong talk with Art Guy Joe. We talked about a bunch of stuff and he decided that it was best for him to resign as Org Leader. He will definitely be missed. I held off on announcing this, because I wanted to really think about how the Art Org needed to serve the needs of the community here and what kind of Org Leader would best suit that. While I was pondering, Matalina, the Writers Guild Org Leader, came to me with a proposal to merge the Orgs. This was honestly something that had not crossed my mind. Bu…

  20. Love WoT. While I'm waiting for the next book, I wanted to start a similar series and, after reading some suggestions from Amazon, I picked up Terry Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule. I thought it was terrible. Badly written and the whole S&M thing was totally over the top. Can someone who is also a fan of Jordan direct me towards a good epic fantasy series along the lines of WoT? Thanks

Okay. This is easy enough. What music are you listening to or what is the last song you listened to? List the song and the artist. Trust me, it's a great way to find new bands and artists. How Can I Live-- Ill Nino Hard Rock fans check it out! AWESOME SONG! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_onsfLlLaM

  26. So, I'd like to read some more of Feists work because I enjoyed reading his first book from A conclave of shadows so much. If i'm going to get into his work I think I should start at the beginning. This is how I was planning on reading his series of work 1 The Riftwar-Series 2 Serpentwar-Series 3 The Empire-Sequence (with Janny Wurts) 4 The Serpentwar-Saga 5 The Riftwar Legacy 6 The Conclave of Shadows One last thing before I go. I was at the book store the other day and saw that Magician was broken into 2 books now. I take it the Apprentice comes first followed by Master? Ne feed back is greatly appreciated :)

We as the Illuminators Guild would like to open up submissions for our bi-annual Dragonmount Anthology. This anthology will focus on Poetry. Multiple submissions are welcome. All works must be original pieces, they may be odes to your favorite author but please do not write with in their worlds, about them yes, in them no. For example you can write a poem about how the Wheel of Time books make you feel, but you cannot write a poem depicting Rand's escape from the box at Dumai’s Wells. You will have until March 5th to send in your submissions. Please send them to dm.anthology@gmail.com with the subject 2007 Poetry Submission. ***** Short Story Anthology Update: …
