Well, I'm back, I would like to welcome you to the latest edition of the DM Dispatch, the one and only place where you get all the facts from everywhere on the boards. I would also like to thank Egwene for filling in for me, and say that she did an awesome job, better than I've done. Now before I begin, I would like to urge you to PM me (goldeneys) anything, yes anything that you think is "newsworthy". It is very hard for me to look all over all the boards for things, when I have shcool, and other things going on...especially when I haven't been around much the past 2 weeks. So please, help me out...you don't have to right the article, just give me a lead. Now I'm not…

has any one read this, it's a trilogy by Mark Chadbourn (World's End, Darkest Hour and Always Forever) i thought it was pretty good, fantasy set in the modern world with some new ideas mixed with old concepts, i was just wondering if anyone else had read it and what they thought?

Some of you know I review books for a major publication. Just wanted to give you all a heads up that I just got a book in that absolutely blew me away. Patrick Rothfuss' The Name of the Wind, coming out next year. The book is seriously, simply great, high fantasy and pure genious. I always read books through twice before I write my review, and in rapid succession (usually within a week or two of each other), and I was as wrapped up in the story the second time through as the first. The man has serious chops. And to add to the insanity, it's his freaking debut novel. I can't give you any details about the book (part of my contract) but I don't think this small comme…

This question is one that is as older than Modern Times (1936) but will be continually asked for all eternity. Forgive me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think its been done here for a while. I tried to pick ones that truly engaged me and have--at least on some level--cinematic brilliance. 1. The Godfather (1972) 2. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) 3. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) 4. Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) 5. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) 6. The Usual Suspects (1995) 7. Goodfellas (1990) 8. The Matrix (1999) 9. Life Is Beautiful (1997) 10. The Sting (1973) 11. Rear Window (1954) 12. Memen…

Since the planning board I made for the Song got overrun by spammy bots and it's really slow, I decided that this time when we restart the Song, we'll do it on the old yahoogroup...so...if you are interested in being a part of the Song staff, please go to the following link and join the group :) Post here, as well (and put the email address or username you'll have on the group) so I can tell who on the group is part of the Song planning. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmtinkers

After many months of working with many people we are proud to present Robert Jordan with this collection of Get Well Wishes. Get Well Robert Jordan I would like to appologize for the timing of this project, we had some very unexpected delays but I hope that the collection was worth the wait. This thread is for bashing writers, series and tv shows. i ask that RJ remain sacrosanct, and i also ask that no one post a counter arguement. bashes may be warnings (Rosemary Edhill is long winded and boring), pure viceral hatred (TG is a giant douche), or well thought out SAT level essays (Dan Brown uses polorizing issues and conspiracy theories in a formulac manner to prey on society's natural paranoia in order to boost his sales. for example......).

Okay, I got the idea for this via another forum that had it about the best fantasy writer ever. Here's how it goes. For two weeks, people will nominate 2 (and only 2 or else your nomination will be disqualified) bands or singers. Then after that 2 week period is over, I will mix and match all the nominees so that it is a versus vote between two of the nominees (for example: Staind vs. Nelly). Then I will post all of those versus matches and then everyone will vote for their favorite of the two and PM me with their choices and so on and so forth until I add up all the votes in the versus matches, the one with the highest amount of votes between the two will move on to the …

Now, I have bashed Harry and Rowling in the past and will continue to do so until someone tosses my carcass in a river, but what I want to know is this: Why do you like Harry Potter? This a serious question and I imply no derision in the asking of it. Tell me what fascinates you about these books. Is Rowling a good writer? Is Harry the greatest character ever, full of pathos and power, intelligence and humor? Are you secretly hoping Harry gets gang raped by Slytheryn (sp?)? Let me know. Think of this as a socialogical survey if it helps.

so one time i and a bunch of my coworkers were enjoying lunch and having a discussion about times we got hurt and had to get stiches or casts or an iron lung or something. after lunch was over we went back to work and i was SHOT IN THE HEAD WITH A NAIL GUN. everything turned out alright but i was wondering if we could tempt fate a little more by having everyone tell their stories of not quite life treatening injuries.

The Dragonmount Writers Guild is looking for interested writers and artists to submit peices for a Dragonmount Anthology. If there is enough interest we will begin collecting submissions for a 1 to 2 month time period and then begin the selection process. Short stories should range between 7,500 and 20,000 words. Two types of artwork can be submitted, cover artwork (which is in color) and inset artwork (which is in black and white). All proceeds from the selling of this anthology will go to the Mayo Clinic to benefit Amyloidosis research. If you are interested in writing a peice please let us know in the short story thread on the DMWG Forum . If you ar…

*ahem* Warder dudes, Aes Sedai babes, most bodacious Wheel of Time fans. It is my most extreme pleasure to announce our most excellent Bill & Ted Theme Week in honor of that most wicked of all holidays, Halloween. It is our fond hope that you will use this time to be excellent to each other, and avoid the most heinous stuff. Or whatever. I sort of failed my oral history project in high school... Well I know that Kahlan doesn't remember herself, but I think that she could unleash her powers, if she were to get too relaxed. If Janagge (spelling) had raped, her the next thing he would've been saying was "Mistress".

(wasn't sure if this was the correct area, but here goes nothing) I'm Shaydi, and I don't know if you've ever heard of it, but there is a huge huge huge world of roleplaying that's been around for years and years...LOOOONG before these graphical user interface games came along with their pretty pictures that restricted your imagination, but heated up your graphics processors....there was real-time text-based gaming. It's been around since before the inception of the actual Internet as we know it. So, what is this forum about? It's about the Wheel of Time, right? A series, world, and people that we all know so well. Why not break out of that monotonous and constrict…
