  1. But Drizzt Do'Urden must die! Fans of Wulfgar unite! Return the barbarian to his rightful place as the main character! And get rid of those blasted, pointless monologues! Free the other characters from being lil'Drizztlets! And stop the blasted greatest-sword-fighter-of-all-time crap. That is soooooooooo overdone. And stop changing the names of all the minor characters! Amen

  2. I'm thinking the Moria Model. Abandoned dwarven homeland(under a mountain chain) taken over by an army of their greatest enemies. Place is ruled by a demonic of some sort. Heroes enter through secret door upon west, have to travel to the east. A chasm will be involved, and a battle on the bridge..... And what is the most common scifi model? Is there a common scifi model? And what other common scene models are there? And how many other authors have used the Moria Model? Mckiernan, Salvatore, who else? (Brooks, I think)

For this thread, anyway, not in general. Since there was so much posting on the Where are you from? thread, especially from UKers, I wanted to ask this question. Next summer, I am planning a trip to Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales (?). Our plan is to fly into Ireland, toodle around for a few days, then skip over to London, see the sights, then drive to Scotland, seeing what there is to see along the way. Is this hard/impossible/insane? Would it be better to take little jaunts? What should we see along the way if we DO do this? White Wolf, I'm looking at you for help!

Ok, a few years ago I read this book, and I can’t remember the title, author, or the names of any of the characters. I think this book was part of a series…anyway, it involved a castle, or perhaps a town or monastery, which had some sort of cursed gold that created a force field thing which trapped some of the characters inside. There was also a ghost in the beginning who died, and left an amethyst set in silver pendant/necklace to one of the characters. If any of this sounds familiar, please give me a title

Jim Baen, the founder of Baen Books, a sci-fi publishing house has suffered a stroke this weekend. I can't find any more information than that online. Jim Baen is one of the great figures in sci-fi lit. Many popular authors were first published by his company. Losing him would be a huge blow to speculative fiction community.

If you've learned to speak fluent English, you must be a genius! Pursue at your leisure, English lovers. Reasons why the English language is so hard to learn: 1. Those of you that I saw in Dallas last weekend, this is the book I was reading. You can read it for free online, or purchase the print version through Cafepress. There are differences to the versions, but only in details. The characters and major events are unchanged. http://www.johndiesattheend.com/ I know Karana read the online version awhile ago, anyone else?

I'm wondering if anyone has any solid book or author recommendations while we wait for the final book? I have a few of my own suggestions. Also, it doesn't have to be in the fantasy/sci-fi line. A great historical or linguistics or foreign read is also welcome. Here are a couple of my own. Steven Erikson's A Tale of the Malazan Book of the Fallen series is amazing. In my own opinion. Anyways, the first book is titled Gardens of the Moon. If you're an American (like I am), do NOT buy the American version, break down and buy the version that was released in the U.K. In fact, do it for all of the books in that series, since you can buy the first 6 there and on…

Now that both sets of members are back on one server, and one set of boards, the RP Staff have decided to "showcase" each Division in a series of RP's to further help, and promote, role playing at DM. Not only that, but to show those who may be interested, but are unsure, what exactly role-playing is. The first RP is by the Aiel Division and will continue until next Monday when the Band of the Red Hand start theirs. Each week the link to the rp's will be posted on this thread, here is the first. http://www.dragonmount.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=72 If you have any questions about the role-playing, then either contact me, or Muirenn, by PM, or post on the Divi…

Hi there people. I got the idea of drawing some WoT characters and started making what i thought would be Tom. Turns out i might be wrong. As i was modelling the face it didn't feel "Tom" enough to me, but i sort of liked it anyway and I don't want to scrap it just yet. Since this is my first topicpost outside newbieland I thought i would do the first thing everybody does when feeling lost in a new place. Ask for help. So then, who is this guy? Remember that he is just a raw model, not at all finished. What is the first person that springs to you mind when seeing him? Would he be Tom if he had white hair, a big mustache and big bushy brows? Maybe he is o…

He has requested that a new person be chosen to run this Org. We sincerely thank Asschen for picking up where his predecessor had left off, you've done great things for the Wolfies. *Gives out TQ* Anyway, what we need is someone who is willing to give us at least 6 months in the Org Leader position. As Org leader it will be your responcibility to keep activity strong, and to co-ordinate a monthly activity (this is VERY flexible, and most likely, is already being done). You will also have access to the DM Staff Board, where…

  29. I found a link to this on another forum and thought it should be posted here: "At January 3, 2006, Nazanin was sentenced to death for murder by a criminal court. The Court of Appeal will review her sentence, and if upheld there, it must be confirmed by the Supreme Court, before she can be executed. According to the Iranian daily Etemaad, then 17-year-old Nazanin and her niece had been spending some time in a park west of Tehran with their boyfriends, when three men started harassing them. The girls` boyfriends fled from the scene, leaving them helpless behind. The men pushed Nazanin and her niece down on the ground and tried to rape them, and to protect herself, …
