I'm on the prowl for another LOOOONNNNGGG AND excellent series (already read G.R.R.M, Feist, Goodkind, Reichert, Tad Williams, Wurts, and am in the midst of reading Mercedes Lackey) so if anyone knows of any good series I'd appreciate a heads up. Anyone here had any near death experiences? I came fairly close today. I was pouring a foundation (concrete) today and the extension cord that the vibrator was plugged into didnt have the ground wire, and it was zapping me nicely for about 45-60 seconds before someone finally unplugged it. Worst part was that I was on top of a 15 foot wall but I somehow managed to stay on top of it. Had to spend 10 hours in the hospital because I had slight muscle damage in my hands from clenching onto the vibrator so they wanted to make sure there was no damage to my heart. Luckily everything turned out okay, still gave me a nice little scare, and I get tomorrow off as well :)

I've come to a standstill concerning new books to read and I was hoping I could get some suggestions on other good series to read. Preferably series though, and not single books, mainly because continuing storylines seem so much more interesting than short ones. thanks much. :) Oh yeah, i have read Tolkein, Goodkind, and Tamora Pierce already.

Hello Dragonmount community, Hopefully some of you will remember me - a post grad student from The University of New England, Armidale, in NSW, Oz. Now 'post doc' as my thesis on the WOT has been accepted - I graduated on April Fool's day! Has anyone read the sword of truth series? I've read the series three or four times now, WoT about six, and I'm finding quite a few similarities between the two. Is this just me? Also what's your thoughts on the two series? Comparitively I mean.

Art Guy Joe has been selected as your newest Org Leader. Joe has been a member of Dragonmount off and on since its founding in 1998. Before then, he was noted throughout the fan community as a regular and consistent artist. While he doesn't update his WoT art as often as he used to, he still "tinkers" a bit with various 3D programs. Here's the next set of books I wanted to discuss. I read these in junior high/high school and I thought they were brilliant. However, when I went back and read them again as an adult, for me, they didn't withstand the test of time very well. They seemed somewhat juvenile, although parts of it still affected me very strongly (such as Sturm's heroic act, etc). How do others feel? Do you have a favorite scene?

This was brought up on the temporary DM boards, and I thought I would resurrect the discussion. Certain parts of fantasy have words to describe their fans. The one that springs to my mind is Star Trek and Trekkies. But what are fans of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series called? I am going to use the two popular names used from the temp. board discussion, which was WoTers and Jordanites. So, the question is, are we WoTers (which I believe we are) or Jordanites? As promised, I have begun editing the profiles of those who are breaking the signature and avatar limits. Some of the ones I removed were only over by a few pixels. So I got this cool new game called Neverwinter Nights. Have any of you heard of it? Kidding. But I really did JUST pick it up. Got the Platinum edition thingie. I realize I am 3-5 years late to the party, but it's all good. I am eager to try it out. This is also the first time I've come into heavy contact with D&D d20 rules.
