Hello. I am reading the Wheel of Time series for the first time, and just finished The Fires of Heaven.

 

I am an avid reader, but these books are the best books I have ever read.

 

I see a strong resemblance between these books and the Old Stories of Celtic History and Mythology that I have heard from my Irish and Welsh Grandparents.

 

I am definitely hooked. It is great to be able to meet others who share my interest in this world.

 

I have also browsed the Gallery, and I would like to say that there are some very talented artists in this community.

 

I look forward to reading the rest of the books, and to getting to know all of you.

Welcome to DM. There are many orgs that have unique people attached to them. Venture out and see what you like as each org has something unique to offer to the community.

You only guessed that because you knew that we are both currently active on the site or have been within the past hour or so.

 

Oh and newbie, you don't have to worry about Empy claiming you as his own, it really is just a ticklish feeling while he clings to your leg and tries to gnaw at you.

Check out the info thread here on the Newbie Board for advice on how to discuss the books and avoid spoilers. You will find a lot of those on the WoT discussion boards otherwise.

 

Hope you will explore some of the other aspects of this forum, too. You say you looked at the gallery? Does this mean your are a bit of an artistically minded person? In which case check out the Illuminators Org for more creative stuff.

I do some writng, but I am much more of an art lover than creator. My husband went to art school, and is very talented- I've always been envious, but can't draw much more than a stick figure.

 

I did check out the Illuminators, however. Very cool there, isn't it?

 

Actually, I have been doing some lurking everywhere. This seems like a great community, and I love the fact that no one is afraid to use their imaginations.

 

Out here I work in the legal field, so I need to exercise my imaginitive side, or I might one day just dry up completely. :?

Glad to know that you've already taken to lurking around a bit. Lurking is the best way to begin to get to know people and what all of the different groups are about. I started out the same way, and I still lurk in some areas that I haven't quite gotten up the courage to officially join in with yet. ;)

 

Please come stop by the White Tower Org and the Yellow Ajah in particular. We have lots of fun over there and I promise that we're not at all scary. :D Well, maybe just a little, but I've found it to be a great place when one's just starting out. I'm pretty shy, and even I feel welcome there!

Welcome to Dragonmount. I am right there with you in the admiration of the Gallery. I myself am a stick figure sketcher but I so enjoy looking at the art of others. Perhaps our paths will cross at some later date.
