I'm brand new here and wanted to say hi.

I've been reading the series since almost the beginning (EotW and tGH) were my only paperbacks, the rest were purchased in hardback on publication. I've listened to the excellent audiobooks a couple of times as well.

I'm very optimistic about the tv series and since the Coronavirus hit, I've been spending some of my new found free time have been working my way through the series again trying to predict how the show might play out. I'm looking forward to posting some of my theories and chatting with y'all about it.

The he thing that made me really enjoy Peter Jackson’s LOTR was that despite the departures from the books the story was told in the same tone as the novels and so it still felt like LOTR Same went for Game of Thrones, the books had a darker tone and thus so did the show so it felt like the same world and the same story. WOT by contrast just does not have the same tone as the books. It feels like they are trying to tell the story of WOT in the tone of GOT and it just feels off
