Didn't care about him in the books.  Unless his role is greatly changed for the show, doubt I'll care about him there either.

We never even met him in the books did we? By the time we met Ghealdanin royalty The prophet had basically deposed the last 3-4 monarchs in a year. Unless I'm forgetting Alliandre was the first we met.

I guess his expanded role is related to Logain? His casting has been public ages ago.

Edit.

Don't recall, to be honest.  That's how much of an impression I had...

Pretty sure his role is related to Logain. They filmed in a palace that's believed to be Ghealdan, so they're probably going to show what Logain was up to pre-capture. The episode listings on actors' IMDB pages has been known to be wrong so I wouldn't rely too much on that, but it could be accurate in this case depending on how they spread out those scenes.

yes, most likely related to logain. logain was ghealdanin, he conquered most of ghealdan. in the books we're not shown, but in the tv show his role will be expanded, and it is likely we'll see a battle with the regular army. and so having a small part for the king of ghealdan makes sense.

If true - all the more reason we won't see Winternight in episode 1.

If you listen to the NY Comic Con ... Rosamund basically confirms we will have Winternight at the end of E1.
