I'm cool with them leaving, and Wayfarer makes a good point. Asha'men and Aes Sedai can build things significantly faster together than relying on ogier craftsmanship without the one power.

A thought on that note.

 

Part of the reason that it took so long may also have been the level of craftsmanship that was applied, to make a work of art.  What aesthetic may Merrilor have?

I was wondering along the same lines after the mention of the channelers building without such constraints... 

 

Perhaps in general they might have adopted a 'stronger' more 'futuristic'/utilitarian type aesthetic without the Ogier involved to make it so beautiful/nature-inspired?

I think you're right there, more hard angles rather than natural.

That said... more graphic hunting doesn't hurt.

Two issues.  To get a full city up to speed, having that might be too much.

 

Also, given the rate of technological advancement happening, is this a society entering the Industrial Revolution?  Might alter the aesthetic.
