I want to see more Forsaken: I think we’ll get Moggy and Lanfear for sure, but I also think we’ll get Slayer and maybe even a little bit of Sammael and Rahvin?

I want to see Matt go through the Red Stone Doorframe.

I want to see a Rand, Couladin throw down.

I want to see Nyn surprise Moggy with her outburst of power.

I want to see Perrin go full wolf-mode in the 2 Rivers battle.

And, I’m impressed by and want to see more of this WT Black Ajah throw down. Smart of them to realize a sneak preview - if the whole season is at the quality of the 10 min we got - it’s gonna be a good season (even if us book fans are insufferable about certain things)! Good Tv is good Tv!

Spoiler

You mean Couladin and Mat?  Rand and Couladin really just argue a bit and that's it.

No. I’m not a purist. I think it’ll make more sense to have Rand and Couladin fight (maybe even have Couladin be a Forsaken).

They open with Aes Sedai shredding each other - I think they need to close with a One Power Male battle and go hard!

* Show!Verin's storyline deviating from that of her book counterpart (because I can't figure out how they can give her that storyline and have her actions thus far make sense)

* Some kind of reconciliation between Moiraine and Siuan, especially if they're going to permanently remove Moiraine from the narrative

Couladin as a Forsaken actually pulling the strings instead of being a puppet would be an interesting twist. It would also help cut out the whole battle of Caihrien(sp?).

I want to see the columns and the Finn. Also can't wait to see the batle of the Two Rivers.

In the preview, there is a white metal ring that looks very much like what I pictured the Ter'angreal for the Accepted test. I'm curious to see how it will be used.

Also curious what the show's take on Faile will be...

I would like, more than anything, to get a confirmation of which of the Chosen are going to be in the series, once and for all. I don't need to see them if they are planned for later, but if there are only going to be 8, and we know the names of 6 of them, but the show gets canceled before it can be finished, I don't want to spend forever waiting on who the other 2 were supposed to be!

That would complicate using him as the hidden teacher role, although you could use a mask of mirrors but that would mean basically a recast of the role. So not sure of that how that changes just killing him.

If i was guessing i'd say

Bathamel and Aginor are almost certain to be cut as they are out of action so early.

Belal, Rahvin, Sammael and Asmodean will probably got rolled into 2 characters drawing mainly from Rahvin and Asmodeans stories as they have the most impact.

And the final cut Graendal. Simply less story impact and the decadence and compulsion heavy scenes may be tricky

Why? It could go something like this.

Spoiler

Rand comes back from the columns with the dragons on his wrists. There is a confrontation of some sort. Rand is victorious and in a magnanimous gesture spares Couladin. He becomes his teacher.

Spoilered because I don't know exactly what is a spoiler.

One of the things that has bothered me in the show is how bad Rand is using the one power at this point. In the books he has done some things by this time. Not all of it worked exactly as planned but he has done some things. In the show not so much other than "Indiana Jonesing " that Seanchan guy, Turak.

I was just going along with the assumption that Couladain was going to be very confrontational as he is in the books which would make that big a turn around surprising. In the books having the Gleeman made sense because it played on the Thom role and his stories and music could inform and relax Rand and leaders having bards is fairly old hat.

if you wanted to keep Couladin close he needs a cover which is harder. it would have to be almost Aviendha role he took.

I am not a fan of finding a reason to have Couladin live. Even if he becomes some teacher role.

The Shaido would still have allegiance to him and that would cause succession issues.

Like, having split allegiances in the future causes a major poop show

Spoiler

I'm not mentioning the Black Tower, but yeah the Black Tower

We've already got confirmation that Graendel is in the show.

Heading into Season 3, we're only missing two confirmed Forsaken, one of which we can assume is definitely being included based on the statues that we saw in Season 1.

There is an unidentified feminine-seeming statue that people were assuming meant that we were getting 4 male Forsaken and 4 female Forsaken, but Lanfear only naming 2 female Forsaken besides herself and using the catch-all term "the boys" kind of indicates a 5/3 male-to-female gender split so we kind of need to figure out if there's a male Forsaken that could realistically be rendered feminine in statuesque form.

In S2 Ep5 Lanfear says, “Moghedien is insane. Graendal is a vain idiot. And the boys couldn’t execute a plan even under compulsion.”

In S1 we see 8 statues that Steppin is “warding off” and 4 of them look feminine. The one on the far left is questionable. I think it likely, it being Amazon and Rafe being Rafe that they’re going to include Aran’gar! That would also make sense to lend support for their S1 take that “the Dragon could be female”.

So Aran’gar but no Balthamel?  Would that mean he was always a man in a woman’s body?

I honestly would be surprised if they didn’t … but we’ll see.

i would just like all the stupid decisions to finally be over.    perrin/matt/rand can finally be badasses again as they started to be at the end of season 2.   i am really hoping this is the season that reaches critical mass.

season 2 was quite good, except for a slightly questionable ending.  if season 3 can finally stay high level all the way to the finale, they may finally build some hype.

let's also get some real sexual tension/relationship stuff going too.  The show needs to start spicing the audience with all the relationships that are in the books other than the rand/lanfear stuff from season 2.  I feel like the show hasn't done that great yet with the relationships.   there needs to be major jealously, hookups, and more to setoff the raging Lanfear at the end of the season.   So many possibilities here:  Perrin/Faile, Rand/Aviendha/Elayne/Min/Lanfear, Nynaeve/Lan, Gaul and his ladies, Forsaken orgies, Matt Cauthon actually showing his game, and more.

And hopefullt we get the Moiraine/Lanfear showdown in the last episode so that the show can finally proceed without giving so much screen-time to Rosamund Pike.  This season pretty much has to end with Lanfear and Moiriaine falling into the redstone doorway, right?

Really more than anything we need viewers and we need an approval for season 4 ASAP.

my guess for seaon 3 forsaken is lanfear, moghiedien, and Asmodean.    If the 8 forsaken are Lanfear, Moghedien, Graendal, Sammael, Ishamael, Asmodean, Demandred, and Semirhage then I don't expect too many more to show  up in season 3.  Maybe we get another couple Forsaken introduced at the end of the season like Moghedien was introduced at the end of season 2.

The known-to-audiences Forsaken heading into the premiere of Season 3:

1. Ishy (seen onscreen)

2. Lanfear (seen onscreen)

3. Moggy (seen onscreen)

4. Graendel (mentioned in dialogue)

5. Sammael (mentioned in dialogue)

6. Rahvin (alter-ego Lord Gaebril cast)

Suspected Forsaken:

1. Asmodean (statue)

Is there any chance we get Morridin already?

Spoiler

Ishy actually died in Tear, right? So since it seems we're skipping that, he would be gone at this point. He certainly looked it at the end of season 2.

If Ishy comes back, it will likely just be in the same body and with the same identity.

Resurrecting characters with completely new names and different physical appearances is a complexity that the show doesn't need to introduce, especially with the changes that they made to the Metaphysics of Reincarnation.

Geabril could be any of the other forsaken or a combination of a few of them does not have to be Rahvin
