I think these two are protesting too much. The roles cannot even have been assigned yet, but they are obviously as guilty as sin. It would be a favour to the rest of the world to lynch them.

That's pretty much it atm. When we start actually playing you'll have more to go on. As people die you'll think, why did that person get chosen. What did that person say about x y and z and then you'll start forming suspicions and opinions

Actually,  it is very collaborative.  It is a team game pitting the town against the mafia. You do your best to support your team. The complex bit is the town doesn't know who the mafia are while the mafia can't really make it obvious when they are trying to support their teammates.  

 

This is listed as a basic game so there shouldn't be many if any special roles. Advanced games can have lots of twists, special abilities and so forth.

The format is correct.  Some games do not allow players to vote for themselves,  but that is the moderator 's decision.
